The Cutest Frankenstein EVERRRR!

IMG_6525-1

Hi all!

Long time, no post! I have to apologize if you haven't heard from me on your lovely blogs. I am going for a promotion at work, and it entails lots of classes, writing, and studying from me. It will probably go through to the end of September so I'm not sure I will be making my goal of posting three times a week here on my blog :(.

With that said, I have some great news! I'll be able to tell you starting next week. Thanks so much for still coming though. I really do appreciate your comments and your visits! I hope to make it up on your blogs soon!

My card for today features this AWESOME Mini Frankenstein stamp from Make It Crafty. I submitted this card for a call (unfortunately, it didn't make it). But I really looooove this card and its image.

Between you and me, I think it was a loss on their part.... teehee! :)

I just love his stance and his pose and the floor kinda make it seem like he's dancing to me! The only people I give Halloween cards to are my son's preschool staff so I've got about 4-5 more to make!

And for some reason, the bright colors of his clothes make him look a l'il bit glow-y. Spooky!!!!

For those of you in the U.S., Happy Labor Day!

Saturated Canary a la colored pencils.

IMG_6535-1

Just a quick post on an image I colored a while back. I used some 99 cents color pencil from Target... they don't quite have the same blending qualities as Copics :).

Super quick card as this girlie's working all weekend (boo!).

Hugs!

Runway-Inspired and Giveaway Winner!

I was super duper excited when I saw this challenge blog based on fashion on the runway! Afterall, I love watching Project Runway and am just enamored with trends.

So for Runway Inspired Challenge # 18, the inspiration is this beauty by Phillip Lim (photo from Style.com):

My take was this:

IMG_6594-1

I went with the colors of white, black, teal, orange, and green. I also like how this Some Odd Girl image is somewhat posed.

Funny how I try to teach my 3-yr-old tot to stay within the lines when coloring, when I can't even do it myself, hehe! :)

And the winner of my CatShy giveaway will be announced in about five seconds.

But first, I wanted to talk about how I picked. I wrote all the names and their number of entries. I cut them into strips and had MK pick one...

And he picked Arabella!!! The pic of the strips was accidentally erased though...too bad because it was super cute with him picking it!!

Arabella, leave me a comment and I'll contact you to get your mailing info to Cathy! Thanks for playing everyone!

Happy Birthday, Jesus!

*Gosh, Darn! I didn't get to check my blog until now so I didn't discover that my pre-scheduled post did not get published! So sorry, folks. My fam and I went to three parties and an amusement park and had a really busy weekend. Anyway, here it is. Sorry so late!*

Happy Sunday, folks!

My CatShy felt flowers giveaway is now closed! Stay tuned for the winner. I will announce her or him on Tuesday or Thursday!

Anyway, today at Christmas Card Challenges, we are to make a card based on faith.

Thought I'd use these stamps for a l'il manger scene. I forgot what brand they are from but I think they are just so adorable! Such a merry time for Jesus' birthday :).

The challenge is always optional though. Just make sure it is a new Holiday or Winter card! Hope you get to play along!

Have a great day!

Hello BFF!

**** PLEASE GO HERE FOR MY CATSHY CRAFTS FELT FLOWERS GIVEAWAY***

IMG_6590-1

Hi peeps!

One of my BFFs had her birthday this month and this is the card I made for her. I don't know about you but I find that the more we grow older, sometimes we go for weeks without talking to the ones we are closed to. For me, a sign of a true best friend is when it doesn't seem like any time has passed and you just try to catch up on everything.

So I used Cheeky Chat for her bday card. I used TGF's "The Golden Hour" Retro-challenge for the colors. And The Deconstructed Sketch # 63 for the sketch. I am late for the sketch though, darn!

Here's a different angle from above. I incorporated this summer's trends - neon pants and ombre hair. :).

Have a wonderful evening!

Shimmering Summer.

IMG_6538-1

Hiya!

I don't know about you but it seems like this summer has been so, so fun for me. My boys had their birthdays. So You Think You Can Dance and Project Runway are back. The Olympics gave me such pride, inspiration, and warm fuzzy feelings (And I'm not just talking about Nathan Adrian...HA!).

And I got to go on a much needed girls' trip (more about this later). And although it seems to have gone by so fast, we still have half of August and all of September.

If you have any tips on a cheap mini-trip for Labor Day, let me know. We'd love to go away but with three major trips planned for the next year, I don't think we can afford anything big.

Anyway, my card for today features Shimmer Bean from TGF. Isn't she perfect for Summertime? I sure hope Marie makes some boy beans as I'd love to make some bean cards for my tots.

For the card, I experimented with some mists and paint. :).

Don't forget that you still have time to join in on a chance to win some felt flowers - go here!

Have a wonderful week!

Textured Christmas Card.

Hiya everyone!

It's Sunday, and you know what that means in my corner of the blog-o-sphere! It's time for Christmas Card Challenges! For Week #37, the theme is texture!

IMG_6546-1

From the purple paper to the white corrugated cardstock, from the bling flourish to the fuzzy young penguin....heck, I even try to make her sweater look like velvet! :) Textures galore!

IMG_6547-1

Remember that the challenge is optional - just make a new Holiday or Winter-themed card. And visit the CCC blog for more inspiration!

Blissful Girl.

IMG_6532-1

Hello folks! Long time, no talk!

I decided to play along with Saturated Canary's Outdoor Challenge # 23.

I really love Krista's ballerina / circus beauty. I couldn't find it in her shop but I know she's a pretty popular digital image of hers.

I paired her with Allison Kreft's line from Echo Park -- the beach/boardwalk-theme on this paper is actually based on Santa Cruz. It's youthful and fun. I dabbled some paint randomly and added girly embellies.

Am planning on giving this card to my niece, who loves ballet and lots of summer activities. She is young and vibrant and girly so I wanted to make it a fun and layered card. And this card is to congratulate her on her success and talent as a ballerina. She's even training under one of the renound coaches in the documentary, First Position.

And I just LOVE LOVE coloring her hair!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sweet Christmas Angel.

**** PLEASE GO HERE FOR MY CATSHY CRAFTS FELT FLOWERS GIVEAWAY***

IMG_6543-1

Happy Sunday, everyone!

This week at Christmas Card Challenges (# 36), it's time to use something new!

My co-Design Team member, Brigitte, showed me these adorable stamps from Make It Crafty. The company is Australian-based, and they have a lot of stamps that remind me of Anime so I bought a whole bunch! They're some of my new favorites!

IMG_6544-1

Sweet Angel is the first one I'm showcasing -- I thought she'd be perfect for the 'using something new' part. She looks so very sweet and cute! I loved coloring her.

Hope you can play along with us! Anybody out there started their Christmas shopping already? *Raises hand* (Yes, I'm a dork!).

Foxy Critters.

**** PLEASE GO HERE FOR MY CATSHY CRAFTS FELT FLOWERS GIVEAWAY***

IMG_6166-1

Hello hello hello!

Thought it's finally time to talk about my current obsession... Woodland critters!

If you've been visiting for awhile, you know that last year it was Alice in Wonderland or anything tea-related.

This time, it's all about foxes, owls, and wood grain. My card today reflects them and I thought SOG's Foxy and the birdie and bunny from Gwen in Bloom were perfect. There's a little bit of chevron-like pattern here as well, which I'm very into too! And if you notice, there a gorgeous felt flower there in the corner from CatShy Crafts. Please join in here for my give-away.

Wanted to also show my love for mixing patterns and doing an unconventional scene. I submitted this card for SOG's DT call and sadly, I was not picked. I am beginning to think that being on the DT of my favorite stamp company is just not in the cards (no pun intended) for me, and I can't help but be disappointed. So sorry to be a sour puss but sometimes, a girl just needs to vent, y'know.

I do believe that things happen for a reason. I know with my kiddies, my job, and other obligations, I sometimes struggle to do my goal of three cards or posts a week. Maybe it isn't just meant to be right now. I have been concentrating on other projects including getting cards published and even scrapbooking. I'm even taking some colouring classes in the next couple of months -- I am sooooo excited about it that I even managed to add the "u" to make it sound fancier...LOL!

Oh, I digress! About critters... my son, O, had an awesome Woodland Critter 1st birthday party. I'll be posting about it soon! IT all started when Jo emailed me pics of this party and with the help of my sis, we came up with critters!

More to come!
