Colorful Kitty...

IMG_5950-1

Good Saturday night to y'all!

We just got back from watching Brave. Such a sweet and beautiful movie!

Here's a quick card I made for a friend. I've paper-pierce this Chubby Chum cat a long time ago and finally got to put her on a card. I thought her polka dots look pretty good with the banners even though they were from different brands of paper!

Have a great weekend!

Take Care!

IMG_5956-1

Hello all!

A card I made for a lovely co-worker who left to work somewhere else. Used Deconstructed Sketch # 56 and Wryn - New Wings.

Arrrgh, my posts are shorter and shorter! Time for this working mama to go to bed!

Love,

Funky Holiday Card.

IMG_5959-1

Hola!

I was in the mood for creating a funky card this week. I seem to always go for super graphic brands like BamPop or Hambly (the Christmas trees shown here). I mixed it with unexpected elements like a flower on a card with a male image (from Some Odd Girl), & you get an even more eclectic creation.

Quite different for a Holiday card, eh? And isn't that flower awesome? For Christmas Card Challenges # 30, the assignment is to include rolled flowers.

It's made from a palm leaf, I believe. I bought it from my LSS & it was made by a local artist. Here's another view of it:

Make sure you visit the blog to see the other DT's work for more inspiration. And speaking of Hambly, did you know that they are going out of business? :(

I went to their final sale and got a bunch of overlays in bulk. Stay tuned as I may be selling away some or even hosting a give-away.

Toodles!

E's card

IMG_5832-1
Hi peeps!
A quick and simple card for my dear nephew's birthday.

He only turned one, but I could tell he's gonna be one of those boys.

The kind who'll have the most fun when he's in the mud. The one who'll bring home 'pets' every week! :)

Used SOG's Tobie and Buddie.

Have a great day!

Father's Day at our neck of the woods.

IMG_5933-1

My hubby is a casual-kind-of-guy. The kind who's always in jeans or shorts and a shirt. He gets easily annoyed at people who stop by without calling first because that would mean he'd have to put on more clothes, LOL!

For his Father's Day card, I thought that Beach Day Buddies' Tobie was perfect! My DH loves to wear his sando (that's Tagalog for undershirt or wifebeater). I used a polaroid sticker as his couch and a computer to symbolize his video game.

For Father's Day, he asked for a day of down time. We went out with my family for some sushi. Then, I took the kids and some card supplies to my parents' and he had the whole house for the afternoon and evening. I'm sure he enjoyed his alone time playing his games but when I came home, I was surprised that he also cleaned around. I know, I know... he's kind of awesome.. at least sometimes. :)

Added a cool calendar sticker, graph paper, and that spectacular mini wooden man is from Studio Calico.

See you later,

The Joy of Trimming the Tree.

Hi hi!

It's Sunday and it's Week 29 at Christmas Card Challenges. The challenge this week is to use stripes and dots. That's a lot of mixing patterns and shapes, folks! :)

And for those of you who have hung out with me all year here and have even joined in on all the fun, thank you! Just remember that Christmas is now just half a year away. And I'm one of those annoying people who start Xmas shopping around this time of the year, he he.

Please visit the CCC blog and get ready to be inspired! It's my favorite part of the week as a DT member -- when I see everyone's take on the optional challenge. I used up some stash and this image from Magnolia.

Have a great day, everyone! I have another post coming later!

Rinne in Wonderland.

My birthday was back in April, but I'm just getting to post these. It's a shame I'm so late...as I love these pics and this restaurant. But better late than never, right? :)

For my bday, I wanted something special and super girly. So I asked my friends to bring their favorite head accessories and meet me at Crown and Crumpet, a tea place in San Francisco's Ghirardelli Square. It is full of hand sewn knick knacks, dainty tea cups, and adorable seating. In other words, a perfect venue for my love of a tea party consisting of my besties and lots of feminine photo opps.

I purchased my headband at BHLDN, the wedding website from Anthropologie. It is over-the-top, very femme, and kind of expensive. But, hey, it was my 35th birthday, and I didn't buy a new outfit. Instead, I got a new headpiece. It certainly got people talking and you either liked it or you hated it. I, for one, loved it. It was made for a wedding, for a bride. I love the sweet color mixed in with the black, and the feathers were very special.

I also loved my friend, J's top hat above. I voted him 'best accessory' (besides my own, of course!). Aren't my friends cuties?

I adore these two corners. I want them in my house. I think I'd like to get little monochromatic frames too, and put my cards in them. Whaddya think? :)

Thanks for visiting! Cheers!

Enjoy!

Hello peeps!

Here's a super simple card I made the other day. I love scenes, and this one was ready-made from a 12x12 scrapbooking paper. I simply cut that corner off and added lovely Miko from TGF. Added some October Afternoon stickers and voila!

Have a wonderful weekend!

WoodGrain

IMG_5924-1

Good morning, everyone!

And welcome to the Christmas Card Challenges # 28! This week's challenge is to incorporate wood grain into your Holiday or winter-themed cards. You have until next Saturday to enter.

I think I went a wee bit overboard here and used ALL wood grain, except for the stamped image (Sylvia Zet's Princess for SCACD) and the stamped sentiment (from Taylored Expressions).

And the sketch I used for this creation is from the Deconstructed Sketch # 55.

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend, folks! Today, we celebrate MK's birthday with some close friends!

Thoughtful Wryn

IMG_5923-1

Hello hello hello!

I've got another cutie pie for an image here. I really need to make more masculine cards but I just can't help it... I have so many adorable girl stamps.

Take this one for example. Tiddly Inks' Wryn - New Nest - I've had this for a while, but just got to color it this week. I just love her pensive, thoughtful look (which is pretty genius of Christy Croll to have achieved this since Wryn only has eyes for facial features). And that cute, tiny bird is just darling! I also love how this stamp is already a scene.

I'm entering this for Card Patterns Sketches # 168.

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Miniatures

IMG_5916-1

Hi everybody,

Today's post features Charlotte at Paper Airplane. Isn't she so cute? What attracted me to her the most was her sense of uninhibition..I mean, look at that wide, toothy smile! :)

When I was at the tender age of 13, I tried to only smile with my lips closed together. I was self conscious of my crooked teeth and then later on, my braces. One of my BFFs, M, told me to smile showing my teeth, and I got a lot of compliments for it. It definitely helped me get through that awkward stage better.

And doesn't this particular Milk Coffee Stamp remind you of the popular '80s cartoon, The Littles? Yup, that's another thing I used to do when I was younger. I used to pretend that my miniature toys were little people :). If you haven't yet seen the movie "The Secret World of Arriety," you must! It's a wonderful movie -- it's like the Anime version of The Littles.

Ok, gotta go now! Have a fab day!

Geekatude.

Hello, hello!

IMG_5878-1

I hope you are all having a great start to your weekend! Me? I've had a wonderful one so far as I'm on a little mini- staycation. It's all about my older son's birthday though, so we are out and about celebrating here and there! I'll most likely post some pics about it later...bear with me though. I'm still working on my bday pics here :).

The above card is featuring Geekatude from Tiddly Inks. I just thought he is such a cute little man! I'll be giving this to my God-son!

I love the mixture of argyle and stripes!

See you on Sunday for my CCC post! Toot-a-loo!
