Hola folks!

A couple of my colleagues got married (to each other) and I made this card for my unit to sign & give to them. The colors are done with their colors in mind, which are purple, black and silver.

The stamp is my favorite couple stamp of the moment - Some Odd Girl's 2 Hearts Kody & Mae. You can't tell here but that giant dandelion is a transparency/ overlay that covers the whole front and is from Hambly.

And speaking of Hambly, I was able to go to the closed-out sale and stocked up on some of their overlays. Am planning on selling some soon. Just gotta do my research of how much to charge and the best way to package. Drop me a message if you'd be interested. I may also do a give-away so stay tuned!

With all the new Christmas products I've been spotting at this year's CHA, I am getting quite excited about making Holiday cards! (for you non-scrapbookers/ non-cardmakers, CHA is the Craft & Hobby Association - it is held twice a year and features new and upcoming products).

I hope you can join in on the fun for this week's Christmas Card Challenges # 35. The goal is to make a card using no stamping! That is both hard and easy for me!

It's difficult because I'd love the card better if there was a stamped image in there and some coloring. But it is also easy because it was quick to do...just slap some stickers and bam~! Hee hee!

Hope you can join the rest of the DT and me! Remember that you don't have to participate in the challenge, just make a new Holiday or Winter card.

Good morning, everybody!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far! I am off so I am all smiles! We have a new challenge for you at Christmas Card Challenges! This week, make a card with a window!

I originally wanted Tilda to be on the other side of that window. But, hey, why not make a scene where we are looking outside the window instead of in? I'm telling you, sometimes, I like to stand out from the crowd and differentiate myself from the other people -- hope you go to the CCC blog and view the other DT's examples. Remember that the challenge is totally optional...as long as it's winter-themed or Holiday-related, your card entry will be fine! Hurry and start making those cards...there are only 155 days till Christmas! :)

So I was on Facebook the other day, and some one asked, "Which stamping image brand do you not like or care for?" Some people actually said Magnolia. I know that not everyone likes the same stamps but people were saying that they were potato-faces! Uggh! So mean, huh? I think Magnolia stamps are so cute and darling! And then people said they didn't like The Greeting Farm or Some Odd Girl. ****GASSSSSPPPPP** I nearly fell off my chair! He he he! I love both but to each her own I guess! :)

Hi peeps! How are y'all?

For my card today, I did bridal shower creation for a colleague. Her wedding colors are gray and yellow (one of my current fave combos by the way). Pardon my coloring. I colored her late at night, under poor light, and need to refill my E00 and E000.



On the bottom right, I used another one of Cathy's felt flowers. They are hand-sewn and designed specifically for paper crafters. They are really very beautiful and intricately-made. Don't forget that I'm hosting a give-away of her lovely goodies here.

It's been a month since the magazine came out so I am allowed to finally make the announcement! The June/ July 2012 Designed to Color magazine featured one of my cards!!! Woot woot!

I turned in a card for their Trends section on Washi tape and I got my second publication!



Washi tapes are so much fun to use! I love how they come plain or patterned and that you don't need scissors or adhesive to cut or paste them. For this card, I layered and lined them up to create my own background! It came out very festive and bright, which I wanted for this Some Odd Girl image: Spectacular Soiree



I added some wash tape to the corners of the image- don't they look like confetti? And sequins sewed in finished up this party!!

Emboss Resist (Gone Bad).

Hola! Our project for Christmas Card Challenges this week is Emboss Resist.

If you're like me, you ask "Huh?"

I did not know what Emboss Resist was. Here's a tutorial that I found on SplitCoast Stampers.

But what I did was this:



Which, unfortunately, came out bad.

Reasons why:
1. The embossing powder was old. I tried three different stamps, and the powder just wouldn't stick. I couldn't work with my images! The only way I made it stick was by embossing the whole ink pad!! *shakes head in shame*

2. The embossing powder was not clear. Which really defeats the purpose. Emboss Resist is like creating sort of a negative space.

Please go to the CCC blog to see the other DTs' cards. Too bad I didn't have enough time to buy new powder or redo a card. But that's what's good about CCC. You only need a NEW Christmas or Winter-themed card! See you soon!

I was so excited to be a part of these new stamps that I made not one, not two, but three cards!

Festive Rin:



I was invited to my first and only (Eastern) Indian party last year, and I was so severely underdressed! So I vowed that I will be getting a sari if I'm ever invited to one again. I love how bright and colorful saris are. How they are both classy and sexy at the same time! Rin looks awfully lovely in this outfit! I wanted the colors to be lively so I chose a lot of pinks and oranges.

Birthday Cake Emily:



So I don't know about your neck of the woods, but it seems like the trend around my side of the country is ombre-colored hair. Y' know, darker on top and it lightens on the way down. I would love to try it out but my hair is already prone to split ends so I don't know if it can tolerate getting blonde (aka bleached) ends. So I thought I'd try it on Emily here. :) I actually like how it came out! I went with a fresh color palette here of pinks and greens.

Your Highness Lucy:



For Miss Vivacious Lucy here, I wanted a card that would grab your attention. I mean, doesn't she look like she'd be the center of attention at any party? I wanted a 'pop-py' DP but also one that was serene as Miss Thang is relaxing here, LOL! I went with a bold color combo of turquoise and purple. And I just love LOVE the sentiment here! It's my favorite!

And if you noticed, I've got felt flowers galore on these cards! They are so beautiful and very intricate. They are such stunning embellishments to any crafting project.

Dare Me to Sparkle.

Hello, everyone.

Well, I've caught a bug from my son (& his preschool) that turned into laryngitis. I've got no voice, and I'm trying to rest my vocal chords. My sis even said she was told that whispering strains them so I have not been making a peep! And let me tell you, it's a bit hard. My mom has my kiddies right now but it's sad that I can't talk to them or comfort them by my usual words or singing :(. I can't even answer the phone or work. I am hoping that by resting my voice early enough, what happened a few years ago will be prevented! I had lost my voice back then too...for 2-3 weeks!!!! Yikes!

So, anyway, I have a card for you featuring The Deconstructed Sketch No. 59. I finally got to color up Glimmer Bean from TGF. She is so cute and so much fun! I just love her hair! I really do hope that someday I will have a daughter :). He he!

I've used TGF's Princess Anya (No. 3). She's not a Christmas stamp, but I dressed her up in golds and a deep burgundy...she looks pretty festive in my book :). Especially with these Holiday papers and stickers.

The Fast and the Cuties.

Hi all!

My work week usually begins on Sunday and ends on a Saturday. So I tend to do all my schedules that way, including my blogging. My goal had been to post three times a week. I almost didn't make it as I was short one post and we had Oli's bday party today (& I AM BEAT!). But it's before midnight so I technically still have time to blog.

Here are a couple of fast cards I did during the past month. The photos were taken by my phone so they aren't the best quality.

Smooches from Me to You!

I made this card a while back but I haven't posted it. It was for a dear friend who was having a tough time. I used Wryn and Friends with a Paper Smooches sentiment. And the beautiful felt heart was made by Cathy of CatShy Crafts.

Monochromatic mood.

It's monochromatic time over at Christmas Card Challenges (Week 31)!

This past week, I was in Portland, and it was rainy over there. I got to make this card and it sorta matched the weather. Although I was grateful it was cooler as I did a lot of walking!
