Hello there!
I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas Holiday!
It was very low-key for us. Just did a lot of our traditional family parties, with lots of food, a chaotic but fun passing out of gifts that started on Christmas Eve and ended through the evening of the 25th.
I wanted to really document our Holiday Season so I made a December Daily album. I got the pages done ahead of time, even if I started out ten days late. I am pretty much caught up. Didn't want to end up with another mini album with a cute cover but no finished pages inside - see my Dec Daily 2011 album here.
I found that the trick to getting caught up is to keep things simple and just stick with a small number of supplies. I only used what came in the Studio Calico December Daily kit that KP sold me. I also used some of KP's pretty papers from her own DD kit.
Here are the first few pages. I'll be dividing the rest in other posts.
Have a Happy New Year's Eve!!!

Dashing through the snow....
Happy Sunday, folks!
For this week's Christmas Card Challenges (Week 4), the theme is Jingle bells!
I didn't have any patterned paper with bells but I remembered this SOG stamp. Thought I'd make a little scene. This card was pretty simple to make!
Have a great day!!!

Green and white.
I discovered Amber through the recent announcement of the Studio Calico's upcoming Card Kit DT. I thought her blog was uber cute, and I liked her even more when I discovered that her blog, Damask Love, was hosting a fundraiser for the people at NewTown, CT.
It's really sweet how this crafty community is coming together, and how much she's been able to collect. You can donate art supplies, money, or cards. They are to go to the surviving children. The ones who have lived but have been left traumatized. Even if it's just one card, think of the impact it'll have on a child or family member!
Tomorrow, I've asked my colleagues to dress up in green and white. I found a contact through FB of a friend of a friend of a friend who'll be putting together a book full of pics from people around the country wearing Sandy Hool's colors. Wish me luck!
And with that I'll leave you this card- made for my BFF, JoBoogie (sorry, now I'm on my phone and can't link).
Off to find a green/white shirt!!

Small Things for Sandy Hook.
If you are like me, you are probably still distraught over the happenings of Newtown CT. The shooting and those children are always in my thoughts. I even have nightmares about it. I knew that I wanted to make cards and send them to the families/ community somehow. Above are pics of the stamps I chose from my collection for cards. I am very much saddened by the cute images.
I know a lot of us feel helpless during these trying times. You can affect so much just by doing something small. A friend helped me discover this article. I just copied and pasted word for word.
From CNN.com:
"11 Small Acts That Can Have a Huge Impact.
1. When the children of Sandy Hook Elementary go back to school, the National Parent Teacher Association wants them to be greeted by a winter wonderland. You and your child can help welcome the students back to school, which will be in a new building, by making unique snowflakes! The snowflakes are due by January 12. Please send them to:
Connecticut PTSA
60 Connolly Parkway
Building 12, Suite 103 Hamden, CT 06514
2. You can also share your kind words of condolence by sending the community of Newtown a condolence letter:
Message of Condolence
PO Box 3700
Newtown, CT 06470
3. Some of the victim’s families have also set up specific pages for you to leave condolences online. Click on the names to leave your thoughts for the family of Dawn Hochsprung, Emilie Parker, Noah Pozner and Benjamin Wheeler.
4. Messages are also being collected on Evergram. They will be given to the family at a later date.
5. You can also do something you may have been putting off for a while. Go around your house with your child and find the toys they don’t play with anymore. Then donate them to a local charity.
6. You can also make a commitment as a family to volunteer at your school or community center.
7. Make sure this information gets out to the people who need it. Just hit the retweet button or copy and paste the information to post it on other social networks.
8. If you need a little inspiration for more creative ways to help your community and do good, check out this conversation happening on Twitter. People are labeling their Twitter updates with the hashtag #26acts – a kind act for each of the people who died at the school.
9. Find other people in your community who are pledging to walk for 27 minutes on Friday 12/21 at 9:30 a.m.
10. If you have a blog, write about a cookie recipe or craft and include a tribute to the victims. You can find other people’s blog post through the Twitter hashtag #BloggersForSandyHook
11. Some online gamers are also suspending online shooting for one day, Friday, Dec. 21."

Doilies.
Good Sunday morning, folks! It's time for another Christmas Card Challenge! Week 3 is about doilies!
I didn't have any doilies at all (I know, LOSER, right?!!). So I made my own with a glassine bag and some fancy punch. Even the snowflakes look a bit like doilies, eh?
See you soon!

Funky Mood.
Good morning, Blogland.
I don't know about you, but I'm in a funky mood. My kids are sick and we all got a bit (ok, a lot) of cabin fever. Add on the news of the tragedy that unfolded in Connecticut. :(
I have been getting tear-y eyed all day. Not sure if it's because of hormones (that time of the month almost -- sorry for the TMI), or the fact that I am mourning those children because they're so close in age to mine. My prayers and condolonces to those kiddies and teachers and their families...
I had forgotten to show you all this card I made a few weeks ago. I never got a chance to take a picture of it before I had to bring it to work (it was for my friend at work). So I apologize that I only have a phone pic. I've realized that I've been doing a lot of that lately. My main camera is my phone camera. No bueno.
And look-y here, isn't her bod just terrific after having that babe? Tee hee. Image is from Saturated Canary.

12 on 12.12.12.
Good evening, everyone!
I hope you all had an interesting 12/12/12 today. I found some interesting facts about today's date:
1. It's the last sequential date for this century.
2. A lot of people got married today for many believe today's date symbolizes luck and love. (One of my BFFs got married on 10/10/10. Another friend was married on 08/08/08 and that same friend gave birth on 09/09/09!!!!).
3. Many believe it's doom's day as well. A different interpretation of the Mayan calendar's end of the world date of 12/21/12.
4. Palindrome lovers will have a hayday at certain times of the day - like 12:12 and 12 seconds for example.
5. In Chinese numerology, the number 1 represents independence and individualism; it is ruled by the sun and is a yang. The number 2 represents symmetry and balance; it is ruled by the moon and is a ying. When put together, the number 12 brings harmony. It balances the masculinity of the sun with the femininity of the moon. A lot prayed for world peace today.
6. 12 is such a big number everywhere - from the 12 days of Christmas to the eggs sold as a dozen to the 12 months of the year. And of course, the 12 hours that I work!
Today was a work day for me, but I called in as one of the tots was sick with a cough and a fever. But I wanted to commemorate this special day anyway by doing something simple.
I found Dear Lizzy's 12 on 12.
(image from Dear Lizzy)
The goal was to take 12 random pics throughout the day. I just played around with my phone as it was the easiest.
1. My fave lotion.
2. My three boys playing with the iPad.
3. I cooked one of Mattie's faves - hotdog with ketchup (it's a Filipino thaanng).
4. Preview of my card post for Sunday.
5. Christmas cards. (can someone say p-r-o-c-r-a-s-t-i-n-a-t-i-o-n?).
6. A shot of the sky.
7. Bacon/sea salt chocolate bar. (mmmmmmmm.....)
8. Twilight ornament of Bella and Edward's wedding. (Oh yes, I did!!)
9. Sick tater tot on the couch. (poor guy :().
10. Quote of the day.
11. Oli watching an aquarium (this was really the other day).
12. Handmade ornament I made as favors for our department Holiday party.
Whew....I haven't written a long post in a while! Thanks for visiting! I'd love to hear what you did today!
