scrapbook challenge

With the amount of money I've spent this month on scrapbooking, I should have at least 50 pages of lay-outs done! But Jo and I are doing pretty good with scrapping...although our shopping habits are the same!

I must say that I love this lay-out! I'm a BIG fan of Traci Bautista, Basic Grey, 7 gypsies, grids, and My Mind's Eye, and this page has it all!! And, of course, I love my fiance and US.

Supplies used: Background paper from Basic Grey Perhaps in Elsa; Grid paper from Scenic Route in Background Blue Grid White; "Love" Tag from Cosmo Cricket in Wanted Journaling cards; Painted tag and tile from kol laj by Traci Bautista; Flowers from Prima (not too sure about the big one); Button and Key Tag from My Mind's Eye; Mini Keys from 7 gypsies; Micron Journaling Pens.

a gift for a niece

i have a niece who will have a blessing this weekend. i made this mini album for her (and her parents) as part of her gift. remember when lunch bag albums were in? i like how you can tuck in even more pics and embellishments in the "pockets." i used the basic gray paper pad, which is so convenient when you want coordinating cardstock for mini albums. hope she likes it!!

a sis, a best friend, and co-workers

I like this picture of my sis and me--we look so much alike. I had just taken a 10-day vacation with her and towards the end, we were almost pulling each other's hair off. I know that's normal when you spend too much time with someone during a long trip, esp when you want different things. I remember this also happened during the Hawaii trip with JoAnn :)(yes, must scrap my Hawaiian trips!). But after a couple of days apart (actually, one), my sis and I made up!

Supplies used: Cardstock from Bazzill; Purple papers from Daisy Bucket Whimsical Ladies in Royal Court; Transparency from My Mind's Eye Magnolia in "Our Sweet Home" Sundance Frame; Fabric Words from 7 Gypsies; Tag from Junkitz Fanci-ful additionz; Net black trim from (?) (Picture Me Perfect store); Flower from (?) (Picture Me Perfect store); Heart from (?); Brads from Bazzill; Paper inside heart from ScenicPaper Route in Grey Grid Outline on White; Gelly Roll pens; Ink from Versa Magic Inc.

My friend, Pei, is beautiful inside and out. She's practical, family-oriented, and dependable. I love the paper with flowers here as it is both colorful and loud. I think it compliments the simplicity of the lone 4 x 6 picture here.

Supplies used: Green Cardstock from Bazzill; Colorful paper from K&C Co. in Amy Butler Belle Gothic Rose Glitter; Letters from thickers, American Crafts; Canvas Label "Just Be Yourself" from EK Success Inspirables; Oval Stamp from 7 gypsies (Thanks, Jo!); 7 gypsies Thank You tag; Metal brad from K&C Co.; Micron journaling pen; Ribbon from (?)(Picture Me Perfect store).

I loved doing this page because it brought me back to how much fun I had that night. Waj, Luzelle, Jerry, even Rob kep making me laugh. We had a blast! Can't wait for my 10th anniversary (although I'd be 33, yikes!!)! I love the paisley design..I hope it never goes out of style. And I love transparencies!

Supplies used: Although you could hardly see it, the background cardstock is awesome--looks like cardboard! It's from Scenic Route, and I'm almost sad I used it without showing it! Paisley paper from Imaginisce; Lined paper from Scenic Route; Library pocket from 7 gypsies; Tag and Transparency from Fanci-ful Additionz, Junkitz; Ribbon from (?)(Picture Me Perfect store); Brads from Bazzill; Pens from The Ultimate Marker and Micron; Staple from Making Memories; Flower from Fiskars by Heidi Grace.

i spent almost $200...

...on scrapbooking supplies!! So it's only fair that I work my ass off and do three lay-outs today. YESSSS!!!! I love scrapbook shopping, but I love finished lay-outs more!!
Is there really a chance that Jo and I can get published? I think so...I think that we do a pretty great job, even better than some of the ones in the magazines. But if I don't, it's not the end of the world. As long as I can share my scrapbooks with the ones I love, I'll continue to be passionate about it.
Supplies used: Brown background paper from Bazzill; Pink background paper from Fancy in Key Lime Pie, Heavenly; Dotted paper from My Mind's Eye Tres Jolie in Darling; Rub-on from Fancy in Key Lime Pie; Tag Library Pocket from Bazzill; Flower from Bo Bunny Precious Petal; Blings from Heidi Swapp; Letters from Doodlebug Design Inc in Just My Type; Ribbon from (?); Micron Journaling Pen.

i'm inspired

I have a long things-to-do list today, but I'm doing well. I needed to get scrapbooking in early because of some planned shopping with Jo today. I have to try to use up as much of my supplies. I guess our scrapbooking challenge is going down the toilet. But I'll still continue on scrapping at least five lay-outs. I don't know about the five cards. Jo does her cards in advance. I only make cards when there's an occassion--I like to do mine with pictures. Maybe I'll raise my lay-outs to 8 per month.

So anyway, here it is...Much to my surprise, one of my gifts had a bag hidden full of dried flowers and leaves that I did not see. They're all the way from the Philippines and boy, do I hope they are acid-free! Oh well, I think they went perfectly with the theme I was trying to go for. Exotic, Asian, full of texture, and ethnic..
Supplies used: Background paper in Fancy Free Collection in Wishing; Flowers and flat leaves in Simple Joys Money Tree pressed flowers, Bow Fossilized Leaf, and Fossilized Leaves Collection; Green leaf cut-outs from (?); "Wooden" paper from Eastern Arts Connection Inc. in Woven Gold; Micron Journaling pens; Rub-on from Making Memories Simply Stated; Wooden band from (?).

my siblings

We didn't always get along--actually, sometimes, we still don't.
But family is family, and blood is thicker than water. My siblings mean the world to me.
Growing up in a family of six, our home was always chaotic and loud. Being the oldest, I got blamed for everything!! But I was also bossy and so good at delegating (I carry this trait at work, my poor co-workers!).
My sibs keep me grounded...if I get too caught up with the trendiest "it" purse or the latest gadget, they ask, "Do you really need that?" or "You could be saving your money for something bigger like a house."
I like this lay-out because my brother is there. We hardly get any pictures of him and so I wanted to make him the main point of the pics by matching his shirt to the background (I also haven't been doing many blue lay-outs).
Supplies used: Background paper from Pages in a Snap in Sage Green Brush; Painted strips and paper towel from Traci Bautista's kol laj; Transparencies from Narratives by Karen Russell in Roots; Ribbon from Basic Grey in Hang 10; Flowers from No. 5 Forever Flowers by Prima; Ink from Stampin' Up in Earth Elements; Buttons (?); Gems from My Mind's Eye in "Barefoot"; Glitter tag from Marcella by K in Anastasia's attic; Brads from Bazzill; Micron Journaling Pens.

not much time

what do you do when you don't have much time yet you still want to scrap?
i only used supplies (old school at that) from the bag in my downstairs closet because i didn't have time to go up and down the stairs. my place is very small and my scrapbooking supplies are all over the place, esp upstairs.
so for this layout, i used 6 supplies (7 if you count the staples). the paper is from scenic route paper company in vintage music. the letters are from 2002!! it's by hot off the press, letters & numbers. the stickers are from jolee's boutiques--i used to love, love this line of stickers!! the staples are from making memories in metallic. the page pebble sticker is also making memories. the tag cut-out and fibrous paper are from (?), and the "lines" are cut out from the leftover sheet of stickers (you know, when the stickers are gone and all you're left with is the background?). a girl's gotta be creative!! hopefully, i have more this weekend!!
