Yumi and Fumi Handmade with Project Life.

Hello all!!   Today I will be showing you how easy it is to incorporate Yumi and Fumi Handmade into Project Life.

If you're not familiar with Project Life, basically, it's scrapbooking by sticking pics and journal cards into little clear plastics. You can either decorate them or just put the pictures in the pockets by themselves.

And I don't know about you, but I love mixing my love of stamps with my desire to document my family's life! This post will show you three ways of doing it!

On this first page, I made a little scene featuring Summer Yumi walking alongside a pier. The page was about the beach so I found a Y&FH stamp that matched and made the scene pretty simple (just like the pics).

. On On the second page, I basically just decorated a title card randomly - still matching with the Summer
theme, of course.

And last but not least, I take pictures of my cards and put them in as well. One, they can be used for decorating. And two, it's nice to preserve that card somehow. You can even look back and see how your style of cardmaking has evolved!

There you have it, folks!  Easy-peasy, right?  I love that you could pretty much use the Y&FH stamps in all of your crafty adventures!!

Toot-a-loo!!

Me in SOG form :).

Happy Monday and end of September, peeps!!

Alas, it is also my last day as a design team member at Some Odd Girl. It's been a pleasure and an awesome experience!!

For my very last featured SOG DT project here, I wanted to show you the Project Life spread that each DT member was asked to do. Basically, we were to make two pages about who we are, what we love, what we do using SOG stamps. Needless to say, I loved this assignment!

Here's my two page spread:

Window Cards.

**** PLEASE GO HERE FOR MY CATSHY CRAFTS FELT FLOWERS GIVEAWAY***

IMG_6497-1

Good morning, everybody!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far! I am off so I am all smiles! We have a new challenge for you at Christmas Card Challenges! This week, make a card with a window!

I originally wanted Tilda to be on the other side of that window. But, hey, why not make a scene where we are looking outside the window instead of in? I'm telling you, sometimes, I like to stand out from the crowd and differentiate myself from the other people -- hope you go to the CCC blog and view the other DT's examples. Remember that the challenge is totally optional...as long as it's winter-themed or Holiday-related, your card entry will be fine! Hurry and start making those cards...there are only 155 days till Christmas! :)

So I was on Facebook the other day, and some one asked, "Which stamping image brand do you not like or care for?" Some people actually said Magnolia. I know that not everyone likes the same stamps but people were saying that they were potato-faces! Uggh! So mean, huh? I think Magnolia stamps are so cute and darling! And then people said they didn't like The Greeting Farm or Some Odd Girl. ****GASSSSSPPPPP** I nearly fell off my chair! He he he! I love both but to each her own I guess! :)

Kisses,

Addicted to Anya (Anyone for Anya?)

There's a new DT call for Anyone For Anya?.
It's a challenge blog for The Greeting Farm stamps.
I think it's perfect for me!!! Why?

1. These stamps are my favorite stamps (and practically the only ones I use) for making cards.

2. It's an excuse to buy more Anya or other TGF stamps :).

3. I've been entering challenges at the TGF site anyway and this will just encourage me to continue and improve!

4. I'll get to meet more Anya fans!

...and lastly...

5. I hope to inspire and encourage others' creativity! :)
Wish me luck!
XOXO

Birthday cards galore!

It's time to PARTAY... Happy ANYAversary!!

I have tons of close friends (including a brother and sis-STAR-in-law) who will be celebrating a birthday in August. It's a month full of parties and so far, I have these cards done (*supply list below). Just in time, too, for my new favorite stamps are celebrating THEIR own birthday!

Happy 1st Birthday, The Greeting Farm! To celebrate, there is a HUGE blog fest!! So, I'd just like to welcome everyone who is visiting my blog for the first time! I am pretty new to The Greeting Farm world but I am absolutely in AWE of the products AND the work. I am so grateful to my BFF for referring me to these cuties!! I'd LOVE a comment from YOU, and I CANNOT wait to see your creations as well. I'm sure I'm going to be soooo inspired! It would also be so nice to meet new people who are "addicted" to TGF :).

What else is going on in my life?

So, I left my 8-week-old son with my mom for a two-day class I had to take for work. Yes, I know...why am I taking classes on my maternity leave?? A certification was due in July, and I guess I could've taken it sooner but what's done is done. Anyway, it was hard leaving Mattie at first. I have been there practically every moment since his birth, and then I had to part with him for 16 hours (moms, you feel my pain right?). I kept thinking about him during that time, but I have to admit that in the end, it was nice to have a "break." To be able to get back into the routine of things while knowing he'll be there at home. It was surreal at first, but I soon got into the groove talking about work and laughing it up with my friends and co-workers. During those two days though, I could've sworn his cries became different, sorta deeper...So, then I became sad again :(. I couldn't wait to hold him and hug him and give him kisses when I got back. I guess I got a taste of what's to come when I go back to work in October :(.

Rockin'

I love this store! Been coming here for years to buy clothes and toys as presents for the many kids in my life (I have like 10 Godchildren!). So now I finally get to shop here for my very own child! They've got some cute stuff and I always overspend. I know that I probably shouldn't spend so much on baby clothes because Mattie will grow out of them so fast. But I figured I'll keep a few pieces forever. And if he gets to look cute AND unique, why not? :)

Now a friend had told me that although baby girls often have the cuter clothes, little boys do too. But it's kinda limited- you either dress your boys like a "skater dude" or "mr. preppy." But this store allows me to party with my lil (faux- hawk sportin') "rock Starr!" Check out the GOLD shoes and Beatles shirt on this guy!

*sighs*
I SO want to play with my recent goodies from here and especially from here. But, ALAS, I have to put my job first and study for PALS. I'm a lil (ok, more than a little) bummed that I have to take the class/ get re-certified during my leave but I know it's very important to keep up with my emergency skills. I'm really nervous, too, of how I'll be able to participate in an intense class with the lack of sleep (& caffeine)...y'know, due to the newborn babe and all. Ahh, and the thought of pumping in my car....*YIKES!* Anyway, I took the pre-assessment tests and I did well. I remembered a lot from the course two years ago. Yay me!

Thanks for visiting! Hopefully, after PALS, I'll have some cards and lay-outs to post! :)

the two most important events of my life...

happened in the past year and three months and I have NOT scrapped either one!!
Two of the happiest moments in my life were getting married and becoming a mama!

Maybe it's because I'm overwhelmed. Or just plain busy (being wifey and mommy are no joke!!). BFF, Jo, has been a great inspiration...and has been yelling at me for the past year to get started! :)

Aside from Joboogie, I've also been inspired with Amber's and Cathy's birth lay-outs. I would love to do my own. It might even be the first one I create.

I took notes during my labor-- like the anal *AHEM* I mean, organized RN that I am. But it wasn't the time the pitocin was hung or my membranes ruptured that interest me. It's how I felt hearing Matthew's first cry or how soft his cheek felt next to mine. I would never want to forget those moments and I would love for Mattie to be able to know how I felt. *sighs* I'm tearing up just thinking about it..

Anyway, thanks to Jo, I've discovered and am so very excited to get these bits of goodness!!!

Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend!!
