Hello BFF!

**** PLEASE GO HERE FOR MY CATSHY CRAFTS FELT FLOWERS GIVEAWAY***

IMG_6590-1

Hi peeps!

One of my BFFs had her birthday this month and this is the card I made for her. I don't know about you but I find that the more we grow older, sometimes we go for weeks without talking to the ones we are closed to. For me, a sign of a true best friend is when it doesn't seem like any time has passed and you just try to catch up on everything.

So I used Cheeky Chat for her bday card. I used TGF's "The Golden Hour" Retro-challenge for the colors. And The Deconstructed Sketch # 63 for the sketch. I am late for the sketch though, darn!

Here's a different angle from above. I incorporated this summer's trends - neon pants and ombre hair. :).

Have a wonderful evening!

One of my Favorite Stamping Techniques.

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Today's actually my Friday so TGIS! LOL! Welcome to another Christmas Card Challenge (Week 9)! We make Christmas cards all year long to make sure we've got more than enough come Holiday season. Please join in!

Week 9's challenge is to make a card using:

One of my favorite techniques is to stamp without black lines. Sometimes, when I want something more challenging, I do this. The result is a very soft image. Perfect for a vintage-themed card, don't ya think?

IMG_4593

The trick is to use a light-colored ink. I used Haystack from Unity Stamp. The stamp is from The Greeting Farm (A Cheeky Christmas). The papers are from Graphic 45, and the stickers are from Love Elsie. Used a spica pen for her facial features. It sure was hard to blend without my usual black lines as guides but thinking outside the box is a must for me once in awhile.

Please visit the CCC blog for more info and inspiration! Hope you have a great rest of the week, and I'll see you back here soon! :)

Favorite Book Turned into a Movie at TGF.

IMG_4611

Hello, everybody!

I barely made it, but I decided to play along with The Greeting Farm's Customer Challenge at Splitcoaststampers- "A Night at the Bookstore."

I went with the Favorite Book Turned into A Movie and went with The Help. It was my favorite book last year. And I felt that the movie did the book some justice. If you haven't read it yet, I suggest you dive into this moving tale about this historic time. Despite some challenges, these women show a great lesson in humanity. They overcame adversity through friendship and love.

I chose Nurse Anya, Cheeky Cherry Pie, and a retired stamp called Hope and Grace Laundry (i think). I altered them a bit by taking off the nurse's cap and cutting Cheeky's hair. Pardon the uneven coloring of their faces as I do not own all of the Copics to do African American faces.

And yay, I got to use my scraps! The crinkled ribbon is home made by Amy.
-----------------------------------

In other news, have you seen how I was picked to be on the SOG Customer Showcase? I FINALLY 'won' something at SOG, LOL. And I'm very grateful to Amy, who was actually the one who chose my card. Amy, thank you so much - you are probably my biggest supporter here!! For more info on my card, see this post.

Smooches!

Jo's Birthday Blog Hop: Party in a Book!

IMG_2239

Good Monday mornin', y'all! And welcome to...

For her birthday, one of my BFFs, Jo, invited several of us to join in on this fun birthday blog hop!

You should have come from my new friend, the lovely Ashley Nguyen Newell's blog. If not, please head over to Jo's blog and start at the beginning.

Jo is offering up some awesome blog candy for this hop, and in order to qualify, you must follow each of our blogs (via Google Reader, a blog reader, or Google Friend Connect) and leave a comment on each of our blogs.

The hop will close on Sunday, September 11 at 5 pm EST. Pls make sure that you leave your name and blog address/ email at the Mr. Linky on Jo's blog.

I am also offering up a small blog candy of my own. You can see more below! Now onto my project:

IMG_2052

As she is one of my BFFs, I wanted to make Jo something special. I saw Dear Lizzy's It's Your Day Board Book and wanted to make her my version.

It's pretty easy to make, and I love how "each page is each own's confetti filled present," as Elizabeth said.

IMG_2240

IMG_2047

I took a Basically Bare book and took out the envelope pages so that only the board pages were left. I decorated with some washi tape, Basic Grey, American Crafts, and My Little Shoebox items. The stamp in the front is TGF's Cheeky Beach, minus the ball (we both love Hawaii!). For the envelopes, I got some glassine favor bags from Michael's and filled them with pics, word confetti, bling, and punched out butterflies. You take the washi tape and seal the bags and out comes the surprises! The fun part is you can re-seal or even take out the 'party' embellies and use them to scrap or make cards.

I even upcycled and used the Basically Bare tag twine and re-used it to decorate the brad above the word "goodies" and the heart button on the left page. The green button is from an old shirt. I also get to enter this for the current Lessology project: The Altered Book.

Here is the second part.

IMG_2241

IMG_2051

As you can see, the book only contained five pages and two envelopes filled with goodies. But I can assure you, it is very fun and it's like having a party in a book! :) Hope the birthday celebrant likes it!

And here's my additional blog candy. All you have to do is leave me a comment below & follow my blog. I cringe when I ask people to do that but I promise to be somewhat entertaining, and I think it'll be a great way for me to meet new people/ new blogs. I'll make sure that the winner here would be different from Jo's blog candy. I'll use Random.Org by September 11th, 5 pm EST.

Included are the new Amy Tangerine's Mini Book by American Crafts, a Whiff of Joy stamp, and a TGF Cheeky Beauty stamp. All are new/ un-used. I will ship anywhere...you heard right, peeps...anywhere! LOL!

Anyway, you are to head over to Diana's blog next. In case you get lost along the way, here's the blog hop order:

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow?

IMG_1890

Hi everybody! Can you believe it's AUGUST already??

Today, I wanted to play at TGF's WOW Sepia/ Brown Challenge.

I colored up Cheeky Cherry Pie in all browns and gave her a haircut! I think her bob looks super cute!

IMG_1891

Wanted to pair her up with these Domestic Bliss patterned papers. I just looooove the aprons and electric mixers :).

It took a while to finish up this card, but I have to admit that I really like how it turned out!

Supplies:
Stamp- TGF's
Cheeky Cherry Pie.
PP- Lily Bee Designs (Domestic Bliss).
Embellishments- Basic Grey.
Sentiment- Paper Smooches.
Misc.- Copics, Ribbon, Kraft Paper.

Speaking of hair cuts... ever heard of Locks of Love? It's a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to sick kids. My hair is the longest it has ever been, and I'm debating whether to wait or cut it now. Am not sure if I really want shoulder-length hair again. But I'm afraid if I stall, my hair might fall out because of all the hormones from nursing/ having the baby. The minimum length for Locks of Love is 10 inches. What to do, what to do...

Anyway, I hope you have a fabulous Monday!

Stay tuned for my next A Week in Rinne's Life post,

Gifts & Weddings

IMG_0418

Hello y'all!

I needed a gift card holder for one of my co-workers, and this Maya Road envelope was perfect. I decorated it with old papers from an old set of TGF patterned papers as well as Mama Anya.

And speaking of gifts, I am planning on giving these goodies, along with this to card that I made in March.

IMG_9837

A dear friend is having her bachelorette in NYC and I thought she should have this mini-Emergency kit for her vacay. Got it (& the image) from Sephora, & it includes that ultra tiny gold bag, hairspray, Advil, mending kit, etc. Basically, anything you would need when you're looking your absolute best and want to stay that way! Heck, it would even be handy for her big day!

And while we are on the topic of weddings, YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS MOVIE!

Bridesmaids is hilarious! If you loved 40-year-old Virgin or The Hangover, you'll like this movie. Hahahahaha!! I was in hysterics during the entire time. If you've ever been a bridesmaid or a bride, had a best friend or have hit rock bottom, you will appreciate it. I absolutely loved the cast!

Did I mention that you should see this movie?? :)

Gone are the days of being a Spelling Bee contender!

IMG_0104

Hello folks!

I am at work today, but have scheduled a post on a recent card I made.

It features Cheeky Cherry Pie. Now can you all see the mistake I made with a certain spelling of a word?

Now, the perfectionist that I am, I would usually extract that photo, fix my mistake, and re-take a new one. All before finalizing this blog post. But I am just happy I get to post a new card so please forgive me for being lazy :).

The patterned papers are from 7 gypsies (polka dots), Basic Grey (plaid), and Love Elsie/ KI Memories (gifts).

Hope you have an amazing day! TGIF!!!

Alooooohhhhhaaa!

IMG_9969

I have a new favorite stamp.

I just LOVE her! Cheeky Beach is so gorgeous (to me) and so wonderful to color.

In fact, I've had her colored for a while now but I just waited till I found the perfect papers to go on her card.

We had gone to Hawaii for our honeymoon and I had picked up lots of scrapbooking supplies in a LSS in Maui. But because my craft room is still in disarray, I do not remember where I put them :(.

But I realized that I have this beautiful nautical line from October Afternoon. I really adore how it came out:
