Ribbons and her ribbons and doilies.

IMG_1199

Good Tuesday morning, folks!!

It's been awhile since I've played with Some Odd Girl stamps -- I've quite missed them!! Here's a card I created for one of my dear co-workers -- she has an upcoming wedding, and I was in charge of her group card. Believe me, I wanted to put some kind of plastic covering on the front of this for fear that it'll get wrinkled, or dirty, or ruined when my colleagues are signing it!

Gold is my new fave color, and I really like how this card came out. SOG's Ribbons is also so beautiful! And that gold foil doilie in the middle is also from SOG.

I colored the image first, and then looked up the current Facebook challenge. Wouldn't you know it? The theme is Trash your Stash - Use up your ribbon!! He he! So Ribbons will be the image for the ribbon challenge, and then I added some lace trim and lilac ribbon as well! Ties off the romantic feel, don't ya think (Some PUN intended, buwhahahaha)?

Till tomorrow, peeps!!

First Dance.

IMG_0515

Hola!!

I made this card for a colleague who is engaged! I used SOG's First Dance Mae, and they are super fun to color! I made them look like the lovely couple too! :)

I stamped the sentiment from the set with silver ink -- it looks a bit embossed on the background. I also used the gold foils and baby sequins from the SOG shop!!

So sorry to post and run, but I gotta go to work!!

Wedding Layers.

IMG_9354

Hiya everyone!!

Here's a quick post on a card I made for a friend's wedding. I think I've made about 5-6 wedding cards in just the last few months...so many people are getting married this year!!

I'm also entering this card for The Greeting Farm's Garden Variety Tuesday's challenge - Layers. It may not seem like it but this card has four layers - the white cardstock, the pink cardstock, the bluish patterned paper with the saying, the clear overlay at the bottom, and the image of I Do.

How about you? Is it wedding season where you are from?

Ta-ta! Have a fab Labor Day weekend!

CR + GM

To my Babe,

It's been four years since we got married. Time just flew by and I still get tears of joy when I think about that day. Marriage hasn't always been easy -- we bickered often, especially after having kids. I think that's pretty normal for new parents, and making up is always fun :). You are my best friend, my soul mate, my lover, my shoulder, and my backbone. You are a wonderful hubby and an amazing father. I love you very much. And thank you for making me laugh daily. And doing the dishes. And the laundry. :)

(Ha ha! Didn't mean to make you all jealous with those last details, LOL!).

Here's a card I made for my DH. It features our vows on the sentiment (at least the first part).

IMG_5109

The main image is from PWCO, which is now closed :(. Used lots of American Crafts -- brads, DPs, and washi tape! Sorry, not quite sure what brand the quote stamp is from.

Have a wonderful day!

Custom stamp

No crafty post for today, peeps!

But just wanted to blog about this cute stamp I bought last Spring but never blogged about (at least I don't think I ever talked about it here).

Bought this at Kozue's etsy. I emailed her a picture from my DH & I's wedding day and she custom made this stamp.

This'll be good for thank you cards, wedding invitations, even scrapbooking. :)

She does great work and is very accomodating -- she re-drew/ carved my nose/ eyebrows about 4-5 times because they didn't look right to me. Very, very patient, haha!

I'd like another one of our whole fam next.

Hope you're all having a great weekend!

P.S. If you're new to my blog and curious about the original picture Kozue copied from, it's this:

I say "new" because if you've been a follower for a while, you've seen this pic about a hundred times now, LOL! It's my favorite wedding pic, and I'm always posting it. :)

World Card Making Day & Peggy's Wedding Day

*** Please click HERE for the coupon code for the WCMD over at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps! The sale is only for one day! ***

IMG_2465

Good morning and Happy World Card Making Day, everybody!!

My card today is for this lovely 'holiday' and also for our PWCO lady boss, Peggy. Our super fabulous boss is getting married today, and I was in charge of writing up a congratulatory blog post for her at PaperWorks Company.

Of course, I had to make her a card featuring her wedding colors. The wedding is in Hawaii so the colors are bright and tropical! I just love them! They are currently my fave color combo. In fact, my wedding colors are very similar (pink, orange, green) and we had our honeymoon in Hawaii as well!

Because it's WCMD, a bunch of the DTs are each writing up a challenge on the PWCO blog. Every two hours, starting with mine at 10 AM MST, there will be a total of six challenges, the last one ending at 8 PM MST. There'll be a Mr. Linky at the end of each post so people could enter in their projects.

The Linkys will be open until 11:59 PM MST on Friday, October 7. PWCO Images are not required, however, if you use them, you will be entered into the drawings twice. You may enter as many cards/projects as you like, in as many of the challenges as you like. Saturday, October 8, one winner from each challenge will be randomly drawn to win a $5 PWCO Gift Certificate!! (So that's 6 GCs that are up for grabs!)

For my challenge, make a card featuring Peggy's wedding colors of:

An optional part of this challenge would also be to try stamping with a light-colored ink (meaning no black lines). For those of you who haven't seen this technique before, I have more information on this blog post (when I first tried it).

The image came out really soft here -- not sure if it's because the colors I used were light as well. It's really challenging but a lot of fun when you see the results. Hope you join in on our fun at PWCO.

Supplies used:

Stamp- PWCO/ RAM The First Kiss.
CS- Bazzill. Neenah Solar White.
PP- Echo Park.
Stickers (banners)- Crate Paper.
Pearls- Martha Stewart.
Misc.- Copics. Fabric flower.
Ink- Ippity (Unity).
Sentiment- handwritten w/ copic multiliner.

Toodles,

ABAC - Love Sign.

IMG_2370

Good Sunday morning, everyone! Hope you are all doing well!

For my Anything But A Card project today over at PaperWorks Co., I decided to decorate this wooden sign I bought at the local craft store.

This sign could be used as decor for a wedding or even at the newlyweds' home. I went with a wedding theme because our dear boss-lady, Peggy, will be getting married soon!!!

I used Echo Park for the patterned paper in the background. In fact, I got the paper from the monthly PaperCard kit back in June. The stamp is PWCO / RAM Happiness is a Piece of Cake.

Aren't they such a cute couple? They scene was so fun to color, especially that cake! And I was in the mood to do the same shade as a Tiffany's box :).

The flower image and nestability were actually items I upcycled from packaging when I ordered a stamp pad. I could never waste something pretty and handmade! The pearls are from Creative Imaginations, and the stitching is hand-drawn. The ribbon is from my stash.

Have a wonderful day!

Alright enough talk for a while. Here's the first reveal:

IMG_1567

My card features the "Driving to a New Beginning" stamp. I thought it'd be clever to make a scene. The stamp comes with the 'road' and the sentiment.

As you can see this newly hitched couple is about to go home to their new neighborhood after their wedding. They will be packing up to go to their honeymoon in Tahiti (my dream honeymoon, teehee!).

Supplies for card:
Stamps - PWCO / RAM's
Driving to a New Beginning.
Patterned paper - Pink paislee's Hometown Summer. Creative Imaginations.
Stickers - Crate Paper's Neighborhood Collection.
Misc - Ribbons. Copics. Kraft paper.

Now, for my second part of the reveal:

This one features a color challenge --

In fact, these colors of pink, orange, and green are actually my wedding colors!!! The tropics have a big influence on our wedding, and we were married in the Springtime. We wanted it to be colorful and bright!

Each DT Member has issued a colour challenge based on their real (or dream) wedding colours; play along with at least one of the challenges by linking up on the PWCO Blog - you've got up to NINE entries to win a prize package consisting of the entire new release AND July's PaperCard Kit! Customers have 48 HOURS to enter the challenges - so their entries have to be in by 9AM MST on Monday, July 25, 2011!!!!!!!

Here's my lay-out:

Lucky Date Night

IMG_0778

Good Saturday morning, peeps!

I'm very excited as tonight, my dear hubbs and I will be going on a date night. And what better way to go out with your hubby than to witness two people vow to spend the rest of their lives together? I just love going to weddings!

I made this card for my DH's co-worker/friend and his wife-to-be. Got carried away with trying to give Anya curls here...not sure that i like it. Used the I Do stamp from TGF again.

The couple's wedding color is purple so I tried to incorporate it here. Don't have a lot of violet embellies though so just picked fun ones from my stash.

Hope you're out enjoying the sun or at least a quiet moment with your crafts!

Here Comes the Bride...

IMG_0745

I really like it when brides choose unconventional colors for their weddings. Maybe because I chose orange (more like coral), pink, and green for mine. :)

I have a dear friend who is young, hip, and modern. She chose royal blue/ cobalt and raspberry as her wedding colors. The true colors of a regal male meets feminine gal.

We are throwing her a shower, and I wanted to make her a card that isn't your typical bridal shower card for our co-workers to sign.

Tried to match her colors perfectly but didn't have the right PP. Mixed old and new supplies here.

Supplies:
CS- Bazzill
PP- American Crafts (Dear Lizzy) polka dot fabric paper. Bo Bunny blue paper.
Accessories- Hambly washi tape. Pink Paislee twine and flag sticker. American Crafts (Margarita Getaway) layered embellishment.
Stamp-
Amy's Sweet November Scorpio.

See ya later,

Three Years later....

IMG_9989

A Happy Third Anniversary mini-card for my DH.

Time has passed so quickly. Seemed just like yesterday we were saying our "I do's."

And now, an almost 2-year-old, a new home, and a pea in the pod later, I love him more than ever. :)

Card Supplies are mostly from Love, Elsie (KI Memories).

I feel like asking hubby if we can renew our vows and have another wedding...hehe!!!

Anything But Boring.

IMG_9040

Happy Monday, everyone!

Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving weekend! We drove to Mesa, AZ and met up with some family. Boy, we had tons of fun eating, shopping, going to the Phoenix zoo (which was all lit up with Christmas lights!), and hanging out. It was a nice lazy time.

Driving to and fro though was another story. In order to beat the traffic and have the tot sleeping most of the way, we mostly drove overnight. NOT FUN!

I'm still trying to catch up on lost sleep... :)

This card was made using my new favorite color combo -- turquoise & orange. Discovered them here. I absolutely LOVED everything about this wedding!! And i think it's so cool that a scrapbooker took some of the pictures!

Used lots of K & Company and Sassafras. The stamp is from TGF's Miss Anya Lounge.

Her Other Half

IMG_7483

You know when you've wanted to do something for some time, and when you finally get to do it, you go overboard??

(Like when you go on a diet, and you cheat and end up eating that whole chocolate bar when you only really wanted a bite? --- wait, that's a-whole-nother story!).

Well, that's what kinda happened when I made this card...haha!

There are lots and lots of things going on here. HA! Can't help it though, i just love to accessorize! Hehe! And it is for such a joyous event! And I have been craft-deprived for SOOO long!

Used the current Taylored Expressions KI kit for most of the elements. I finally finished coloring this image I got from winning a blog candy from Sheena.

The card is for one of my dear BFF's wedding. The image is so very cute & sweet, but looking through my stamps made me realize that I need more wedding images!

I incorporated the bow and flower from the invitation up in the left corner. I just love wedding invitations so I thought that would add a personal touch!

Speaking of personal touches...

Back when M and I were in Junior High, we had this matching toy that we displayed in our rooms. We were both new to the school, and had bonded right away. That first year was so precious to our friendship, as we always reminisced about our memories back then. We always joked about the boys we had crushes on and how we had carved their initials on trees.
Oh to be young and innocent again! :)

Anyway, that was 20 years ago, but I had managed to save the main part of the toy. I knew that I would somehow incorporate these into M's wedding present even it is just part of the wrapping. Finally, she has found her other half after all the experiences and mishaps and simple joys since our junior high years.

IMG_7485

Aren't they cute and fitting for the occasion? :) Hope she likes it!

Have a fantabulous day!

Vintage goodness

IMG_7476

Happy Monday, everyone!

Another quickie card today. Added a touch of vintage lace to keep it from looking too 'cutesy.'

My goal is to make another card for this week. And then it's off to Aloha for some much needed vacay and one of my BFF's wedding.

My bro's wedding was this past weekend, and I thought I'd share with you some pics of my fave design elements during that day (of course, it was all executed by my l'il sis and my new sis-in-law). Photos are unedited and a bit small but I hope you like them as much as I do!

Toot-a-loo!
