October Review over at CCD!

Hi peeps!

I've got not one, not two....but THREE cards for you today! It's time for a review on the October Releases of C.C. Designs!

First is Rodney's Ride. Isn't he the cutest? Love him and his quirkiness! I paired him up with the equally cute and quirky line of Love, Elsie! Boy, was I hoarding this Christmas line! I think it's from 2006.

Because of the colors of the patterned paper, I chose this whimsical and colorful tree sticker by Jolee's as well!

IMG_1249

What a fun Holiday so far, eh??

Next is the Bird image from the Vintage Winter stamp (you get three images!). What a darling birdie! I wanted this card to look a bit more classic so I used traditional Poinsetta stickers and papers. And of course, that gold embossed card stock too!

Then, last, but not least is the Holiday Penguins!

I can't get over how adorable they are!! Too cute!!

Have a great day! And remember to check out the store and the rest of the DT!

Toot-a-loo!!

Anything Christmas at Milk Coffee!

Hello!! And welcome to Milk Coffee's Anything Christmas Challenge.

I went pretty traditional with the colors -- green, red, brown tones. But I went with a fairy tale theme again -- this time with the digi, Tiffany as Snow White. We were given this image in the beginning of the term, and I've been dying to use her! Thought she'd be perfect for a Holiday card.

My favorite Holiday line this year was from Glitz Designs. Love the modern vibe with traditional aspects. The graphic component is also very strong -- hello, woodgrain deer! You are perfect with my Snow White theme!! **swoooooon**

I hope you all play along. You have until 8pm EST on January 1st or 8am January 2nd in West Indonesia, depending on which part of the world you live in! Pls visit the Milk Coffee Blog to see the other Design Team's creations. They are fab and really got me in the Christmas mood!!

Speaking of which, how's your Holiday prep going? I have a little vacation this week, but it's going too fast, and as usual, I've planned more than time allows. But I read Amy Tangerine's blog last night and the article she linked up really helped as far as letting some things go. We, as women, tend to think we can or should do it all, but why stress yourself out when you should be enjoying the joy of the season, right??

I loved that article so much that I've linked it up here as well. Here you go (you can thank me later, LOL!).

Love,

Merry Christmas, from our family to yours!

Merry Christmas, everyone!!

I hope that you are spending some joyous moments with your family and friends. When I was younger and single, our tradition was to stay up on Christmas Eve, eat and be merry with lots of fam, go to midnight mass, and open our presents! We sleep in and then party all over again. Eat and open more presents, and usually go to the movies.

Now that I'm married and with kids, not much has changed. We just have to make sure we visit my in-laws as well. Sometimes, we don't get to watch a movie on Christmas Day.

As it is Sunday, it's time for another Christmas Card Challenge - Week 3.

Here's my card:

IMG_4040

It's of my family: my Dad, my Mom, my two sisters, and brother. We're either dressed in matching PJs (I've always wanted to do that!) or smiling in our Sunday Best for a family photo! :)

I altered the stamp to include my brother up top. In real life, my bro towers almost a foot over me...let's just pretend that he's standing on top of the chair here, shall we?

I used CC Designs The Group stamp. The papers and sticker are from American Crafts (Dear Lizzy). The ribbon is from KI Memories (Love, Elsie). The flower is homemade and bought from my LSS.

Won't you play along with our sketch for your Holiday cards? After today, I'm sure making winter-themed cards would be harder. Just think of all the Christmas cards you'll have by next year though? LOL! Please visit the CCC blog for more info!

I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday! Remember that Christmas is not just a day, but a state of mind! (love that quote!).

Faves for Christmas 2011

Hi y'all! No crafty post today... although it's heavy with pics!

Just wanted to show you my favorite moments of the Holiday Season so far.

It includes new outings to a nearby Global Wonderland and the traditional trip to Union Square in San Francisco.

A lot are of my parents' decorations in their home (courtesy of my sis).

There's Mattie's Preschool concert and his first gift for me (awwww).

The homemade wreath on our front door was bought from Cathy's Etsy shop (Catshy Crafts). Isn't it stunning? I first 'met' Cathy on SisTV, and she is one talented gal! (Ignore the extra yarn hanging pls...I should've cut that part off!).

Then there are my fave decorations at home. Our homemade ornaments. 'Argyle' candles. Cool wrapping from my beloved Borders (miss this store :(). Mattie's projects. LOVE!

I really need to do a December Daily album. So busy though...maybe in January??

Are you all ready for Christmas? I'm not! :) LOL!

Me, Ruffle a few feathers?? Noooo!

Good Monday morning, everyone!!!

Today, I am super excited to show you my card for several challenges today.

IMG_2481

1) For the first annual Link Up for Pink linking party over at Gaby's blog.

As you all know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Remember to do self breast exams. I'm going to share something with you: about seven years ago, I found a lump in my breast. I had it biopsied and part of it was taken out. I was very lucky that it wasn't cancerous. But I remember the fear and sadness I faced. So even if you are fortunate enough to be healthy, remind your family and friends to check monthly, to get mammograms, and even accompany them to their appointments.

I thought this card was appropriate because it's of the holidays. Holidays can be tough when you're sick or when you've lost someone dear to your heart.

I got this quote from Gaby's blog:

As we take this journey together, let us take the time to celebrate life, live for today and remember the lives of the women and men no longer with us.

2) The card is also for a DT call at the new SPARKS Challenge blog for Paper Smooches.

They are having a separate Design Team just for the Sparks Challenge only and I thought I'd try out. I just love me some Paper Smooches.

Here's the photo inspiration.

I was drawn to the ruffles first, and then the color combo next. I am (slowly) learning about how to color ruffles and pleats, and challenging myself to try out not only doing shadowing and blending, but also highlighting. I still need a lot of practice, but I like how Gifty Gwen's (from Some Odd Girl) dress turned out.

I am also liking this color combination a lot - hot pink, mint, kelly green, some turquoise and a bit of brown.

3) This card is also my entry for the Week 2 of SOG's 12 Weeks of Christmas Holiday Challenge --- use non-traditional colors.

Other supplies I used:

CS- Bazzill. Neenah Solar White.
PP- American Crafts, Dear Lizzy.
Rub-ons- Hambly.
Inks- Memento ink. Copics.

Thanks for visiting!

On The 1st Week of Christmas... & lots of TV shows!

IMG_2449

Good Thursday morning, everyone!

Hope you're all doing well! So who's got their Fall TV show line-up? I sure do! With Project Runway, Parenthood, Glee, The Sing-Off, X factor, The Real World, Rachel Zoe Project, Jersey Shore..... um, yeah, my DVR is full!

I am just a sucker for all those Reality Shows. And I know I am probably losing brain cells when I watch The Jersey Shore, but I just can't help it! It's hilarious!!! :):):)

For today's post, I have a tag for the first week at SOG's 12 Weeks of Christmas Holiday Challenge on FlickR. The goal was to make a Holiday tag. Simple enough, eh?

I finally got to color up and use Tiny Baby. Isn't he just darling?

And for some reason, sometimes when I color up stamp images, a few of them remind me of certain people. Like Tiny Baby somehow reminds me of a baby version of Mark from So You Think You Can Dance. He's now one of Lady Gaga's back-up dancers. Maybe because of the mohawk he is now sporting looks very similar to TB's little sprout of hair? Hehehe! Could it be that my eyes are getting worst? Oh no!

And speaking of babies, I got to see Up All Night too, and I must say that I am enjoying Christina Applegate as a mother. She is too cute!

For the tag, I used:
CS- American Crafts. Neenah Solar White.
PP- Prima.
Die-cuts and buttons - Bo Bunny.
Ribbon- Queen & Co. (red), Misc (blue).
Letters- Authentique (black and cream). Misc (blue).
Others- Copics. Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.

I hope you all have a lovely day. I'd love to hear some of your favorite TV shows.

Christmas in her Living Room

Happy Saturday, everyone!

I just had to continue the SOG love from yesterday's blog hop. I've got a card featuring Sweet Thinkin' Mae for their Inspiration Challenge (wow, a lotta links here, eh?).

Here's the pic:

I went with the colors and Holiday theme.

IMG_2438

Can I just tell you that I love this scene? It's so cozy and warm. I love that there's a fireplace. In our home, we don't have one but I've always wanted a mantle. I think it's such a great place to decorate for any holiday. Here, I left it alone because there are a lot of 'pictures' above. And there are already stockings hanging.

IMG_2442

If you noticed, Mae looks a bit different here. Wanted to try out stamping with no black lines again like I did here. But for some reason, I like the other one better. Maybe because it looks like her features changed here? Instead of lining her facial features with my copic multiliner in black, i did it with a brown spica pen. Except for her eyes because she's wearing eye-liner and all :).

Stamping without the black lines also made the image look like a watercolor painting again, which matches more with the soft background.

IMG_2441

Supplies:
CS- Bazzill. Neenah.
PP- Echo Park ('wallpaper'). Bo Bunny ('hardwood floor'). Creative Imaginations ('rug').
Die-cuts- Not sure; there was no name on the packaging. It's a new product. Anybody know?
Tiles- Prima.
Twine- House of Threes.
Sentiment- Paper Smooches' Word Up.
Ink- Jenni Bowlin. Ippity.

Have a wonderful weekend, everybody! Looking forward to going shopping for some shelves for my craftroom!! I've been waiting for a year! I'm determined to get most of the organization done before I go back to work.

Tata!

Christmas 2010

IMG_9197

Good Sunday mornin' everyone!

I'm a day late to share my last Christmas card of the year. I gave Teacher Anya from TGF a little hair cut. The Christmas tree is hand-made, and all supplies (except the snowflakes brads and ribbon) are from the Dear Lizzy Christmas line from American Crafts.

We had a great Christmas this year. We celebrated Christmas Eve and Day with our families. Lots of joy and singing and dancing (yes, to the Glee Xmas album) and eating and opening presents.

Call me sentimental but I always get this overwhelming blissful feeling during Christmas. It is definitely renewed especially because of my son. I'm seeing everything again through his eyes. And when I was a young girl, I'd get this big let-down and withdrawals because it was over so soon!

Well, this day after Christmas, I am not withdrawing yet. We are hosting our annual holiday get-together for my college Nursing crew. It'll be our second dinner party at our new place. I am very excited! :)

Hope your holiday was phenomenal!
