Berry Sweet for Boys.

Good Monday morning to ya, folks!!

It's time to show you another fun project featuring TGF's new journey in the documentation world - Berry Sweet Daily Life, with its coordinating Berry Sweet Print & Cuts.

I challenged myself and the other Guest DT members to do a "masculine" project using this kit. Being a mom of two boys, I felt it was important that this kit also works for families like ours!

This is actually Week One of my Project Life. I depicted New Year's Eve and my son's recent testing using the Berry Sweet Daily Life. Even if it has hearts and butterflies, I was still able to incorporate some embellishments to my cards from the kit.

I stamped a couple of sentiments from the Oliver and Amelia set - Little Dreamers as well. Love how you could pretty much interchange different TGF products and they'd still coordinate with each other!

Next up is an anything goes challenge on a card. For my long time followers, you guys know that I pretty much make cards most of the time. So, again, I wanted to show the versatility of these print & cuts kits. And I also took it a step further and made this masculine as well! One, to challenge myself. And two, I needed more 'boy' cards in my stash :).

For the main image, I used Ian from Picture Perfect. This one goes out to my Godson!

Here's a closer look!

Well, I hope you get to visit The Greeting Farm's blog for the post. There's also a challenge on their for this new line so I hope you get to join! And please visit Claudette and Jerodelle, the other GDTs, for their take on this week's projects!!

Kisses,

Favorite Book Turned into a Movie at TGF.

IMG_4611

Hello, everybody!

I barely made it, but I decided to play along with The Greeting Farm's Customer Challenge at Splitcoaststampers- "A Night at the Bookstore."

I went with the Favorite Book Turned into A Movie and went with The Help. It was my favorite book last year. And I felt that the movie did the book some justice. If you haven't read it yet, I suggest you dive into this moving tale about this historic time. Despite some challenges, these women show a great lesson in humanity. They overcame adversity through friendship and love.

I chose Nurse Anya, Cheeky Cherry Pie, and a retired stamp called Hope and Grace Laundry (i think). I altered them a bit by taking off the nurse's cap and cutting Cheeky's hair. Pardon the uneven coloring of their faces as I do not own all of the Copics to do African American faces.

And yay, I got to use my scraps! The crinkled ribbon is home made by Amy.

In other news, have you seen how I was picked to be on the SOG Customer Showcase? I FINALLY 'won' something at SOG, LOL. And I'm very grateful to Amy, who was actually the one who chose my card. Amy, thank you so much - you are probably my biggest supporter here!! For more info on my card, see this post.

Smooches!

What NOT to Wear!

IMG_2249

I had BIG dreams of paper-piercing my way to the new HOT COUTURE ANYA.

The mixture of Dear Lizzy, Sassafras, and glitter did prove to be hot .... a HOT mess, that is! LOL!

Sometimes you just gotta laugh at what you make. Man, she looks ridiculous!

I thought combining the skirts/ tops of:

1. Ballerina Anya (top, tutu)
2. '80s Anya (skirt, leggings as part of skirt now)
3. WS Dahlia (top and feet)
4. Can-can Anya (not sure what her name is but she's a dancer with the feather in her hair. She makes up the head and arms of the image here).

I even layered the clothes here to make it look realistic....hehehe. But it didn't look right at all. Why, oh why did I also decide to add a ruffled headpiece along with the feather??

And the other day, I caught the tail end of an old "My So-Called Life" episode (you guys remember that?). Claire Danes' BFF there, Ray-anne, had a colored strip of hair, and I was, unfortunately, inspired. That's where the pink highlights came from :).

So, instead of chucking my HOTT MESS Anya into the garbage, I thought I'd just change the title of my card to "What NOT to Wear." Just like the TV show. Instead of the Project Runway inspiration that I envisioned.

I thought I'd still enter my card into TGF's Farm Fashionista Challenge. I'm sure that Marie and Jessica will get a laugh out of it. :) :) :)

The CS are from Bazzill and Neenah. The PP are listed above. The tag is from My Mind's Eye, and I thought this design book stickers from Jolee's is perfect!!

I love that tag -- I used to write down what I wore / would wear back in college so that I wouldn't wear the same outfits twice in one month (DORK!).

Come to think of it, I also do this when I go on vacation... but this time, it's to make sure I have enough clothes, LOL!

Anyway, I hope I made you smile! Thanks for reading this. I think I would've had better luck if I had drawn!

Toot-a-loo!
