Summer's Coming to an End.

Good morning, peeps!

Happy Monday! Today, I've got a couple of new projects to show you featuring The Greeting Farm's Summer Time Print and Cut kit, as well as the add on kit of Summer Journal Cards.

I extended my son's preschool into their version of a Summer camp, but his last day is nearing. I wanted to make his teachers some good-bye cards. That's his writing there alongside Teacher Anya.

Pollycraft's Brains.

IMG_1036

Happy Hump Day, folks!!

This card was inspired by my oldest tater tot who'll be going to Kindergarten in the Fall. Sniff.

It features Pollycraft's Brains from C.C. Designs! Today is review day for the July Pollycraft release so I hope you can visit the CCD blog and look at all the new products and cards by my fellow DT members!

Have a great rest of the week!

PollyCraft's Grant.

IMG_0555

Hi, and you are here!! I'm showcasing the third day of previews for the April Releases at C.C. Designs. Now, it's Pollycraft's turn.

This little cutie-patootie is Grant, and he reminds me so much of my boys! Maybe it's the hair or the smile, but I think he's so sweet and cute! I just want to pinch that cheek!

IMG_0557

I love how versatile these stamps are. Doesn't he blend perfectly in with this retro party? And if I had made a current scene, he'd fit in as well!

Well, as my birthday is drawing nearer, I'm picturing my boys looking like Grant when they greet me! :)

Preview Day 2 at C.C. Designs.

IMG_0407

Hi all!!

Today is Day 2 for the previews over at C.C. Designs' March releases. It's all about the new Roberto's Rascals. I've combined two of them -- Henry with Chick and Henry's Bunny -- into one card. Since I have two sons, I thought this would be their card for Easter :).

IMG_0409

They're such fun images to color, and I love how sweet their demeanors are. My tater tots love animals so I know they'll just adore this!

When I was coloring, I found that there was a lot of negative space in between them. Thought this would be a great opportunity for a scenic card (which I enjoy making!). I applied some metallic rub-ons against the edges of a cut-up cloud to create the sky. To continue with the sky/ cloud theme, I layered two Hambly overlays against kraft cardstock. I'm really swooning over the effect of this, and besides the two stamps, it's my favorite part of the card!

I continued to extend the grass as well by using fringe scissors by Martha Stewart on green patterned paper.

Hope you all enjoyed my card! Looking forward to Easter now!!

Circus!!

IMG_9554

Happy Hump Day, peeps!!!

I am quite excited to show you my card today featuring these wonderful images from Time for Tea Designs. Circus Hoop and Pasquale the Circus Pooch are so awesomely adorable, and were on sale to help raise money for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity in England. Jo was able to raise 1600 pounds!

I was quite glad I helped contribute and get these cuties in return. I've always had a warm spot in my heart for Circus-themed things. Ever since my son's first birthday party:).

I saved these papers and stickers from that party. I think my plan was to make thank you cards but I never got around to using them!

IMG_9553

Well, I've got to skidaddle on now!

Hope you have a great day!

Snorkle Tobie in Hawaii!

IMG_8830

Good Monday mornin' to ya! On my neck of the woods, it's not quite a Manic Monday since I'm off! LOL!

Today launches Some Odd Girl's featured digi - Snorkle Tobie. Snorkle Tobie will be on sale for 35% off for the next two weeks so go grab him! He's perfect for your summer adventures!

I decided to do something a bit different and use him on a scrapbook layout. It's been awhile since I did one of those! Here's MK on the beach of Waikiki from a couple of years ago. Doesn't he look so cute, still so chunky and small?!

IMG_8832

And look at that smirky facial expression, hahahahaha!!!! Love it!!

See you tomorrow for more SOG fun!

Soccer Jude and Mattie.

IMG_6608-1

Hiya folks!

Every Monday, please stop by and see my post for Karber digi stamps. Berenice had asked all the Design Team members to pick the stamps they liked, and I couldn't help but choose Soccer Jude.

Mattie's preschool had hosted a few weeks of soccer, and I enrolled him in it. Jude reminded me so much of him! It's so cute to watch 2 to 3-year-olds play soccer, ha ha!

IMG_6610-1

And I'm using another Kelly Purkey stamp as my sentiment. "This is How I Roll was perfect," I thought! :)

Here are some pics of my cute soccer babe! Via Instagram.

Have a fantastic Monday!

Happy V Day, part uno.

IMG_4630

Hi everyone!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I found this quote on my cousin's facebook page and thought it funny and appropriate for this sometimes non-inclusive holiday:

"Happy Hearts Day to those who are taken, still-to-be taken, taken for granted, assumed to be taken, needs to be taken, waiting to be taken, almost taken and who will never be taken! Spread the LOVE!!!"

Hee hee hee. Cute, huh? I've been almost all of those at one point in my life :).

I gave away a few V cards to some of my bloggy & real world friends. I custom-ordered them from Cathy through her Etsy store, CatShy Crafts. Aren't they just adorbs (adorable)? I bought a lot of felt goodies from Cathy but have been hoarding them. These particular ones are cute because not only did they decorate the Valentine's, they are also detachable and re-usable!

Anyway, in the life of my fam, here are some V-day happs:

In the beginning of the month, the hubs & I got some Krispy Kreme doughnuts. For the month of Feb, they've got special heart-shaped ones. Not good for the 'diet' I know, but aren't they cute?

Made by my 6-yr-old patient. He was so darn proud of it, too! I tucked in the corner for his privacy. You can't tell here but the embellies at the center are popped out. Lots of texture going on around here, I LOVE it!

The little tater tot picked out Valentine's cards at Target and decorated them with stickers. He's actually using the Glossy Accent just as a stand for the stickers. That glue is sort of expensive, ya know.

And just because I wanted to include the chub babe here, I thought this pic was ultra funny! It's not so much the texting but more the facebooking and blog reading, LOL!

I did buy him special V day pants that are red, but never got around to taking a pic! Maybe I'll include it with the card for my DH (which I still have yet to finish!!!).

And to end my V Day part I post, I found these older pics from a couple years back and thought the bib and MK are super cute!

Have a wonderful LOVE day! We're having a special dinner out tomorrow night. Hoping to post some pics of it here. See you soon!!

XOXO,

Family Currents.

famsession6

This little guy is 2 1/2 now. Learning so much in pre-school. Lots of new words. Does these cute karate-like moves with his arms/feet when watching Kung-Fu Panda! The other week though, I saw him pulling on each corner of his mouth and sticking his tongue out! Haha! Guess that comes with the territory!

famsession7

MK loves his Thomas. Given to us by one of my dear friends, M. He sleeps hugging it every night.

famsession10

Got this from Target when the Missoni line first opened up. It reminds me of how much I had wanted to decorate our house. With the stress of daily life, I've gotten away from that. This year, I plan to go back to my goal. I really want a beautifully-furnished but kid-friendly home. First on the agenda is buy some shelves. Second is to purge some stuff.

famsession11

Still loving my accessories. You could tell what kind of crafter I am by my earrings, no? Embellishments, anyone? :) From Anthropologie, Museum of Modern Art, Betsey Johnson.

famsession8

Current outfits: black pants and whatever top is clean. No make-up. Hair pulled back. *sighs*. I have a hair appointment this week to get my roots done. Need to get motivated to dressing like how I used to. Lots of lovely, feminine tops in my closet. Really need to work on myself. If only I wasn't so tired and busy all the time! But that, folks, is another story! Must do another post soon about how my One Little Word (Balance) is going.

famsession13

Gilster is working hard at work and at home. Deserves something big! Had a chance to get him some SF 49er tickets for Christmas. Really regretting that I didn't. They're doing so well (wooot wooo, Super BOWL!!!!). And we've never been to a football game. I think G would've enjoyed this! If you ask him, he'll probably say, "but I hate crowds!" Oh, dear hubby!!

famsession14

Mr. Drool Monster turned 6 months. I think we are finally over the sickies (*prays and crosses fingers*). He lost a bit of weight but is still getting cuter each day (me biased? never! lol!). Is more playful than ever. Does this cute little dance and not quite able to sit without support yet. Totally lights up when he sees Mommy or Daddy!

famsession12

This pic is to show that cute clothes exist for little boys. They sure get harder to find as they grow older though!

famsession9

Till the next 'currents,' thanks for reading!

Meeting Amy Tangerine!

Hi all!

It's been so long since I last took a scrapbooking class. I've definitely forgotten how fun it is and how I usually learn a lot.

When one of my favorite scrappers came to teach a class based on her wonderful new line, I knew I had to take it! I had pretty much been hoarding as much of the Amy Tangerine goodies (American Crafts) as I can afford. Thought it was time to use them. What better way than to learn from the designer herself?

I had gone through a lot in order to take her classes (don't ask), and I was feeling a bit under the weather. Am super elated that I got to come... it was very inspiring and I've learned techniques for both scrapping and card-making!

IMG_3610

Here are my supplies and goodies. The classes were $60 each but you pretty much get it back in the items they provide.

IMG_3616

Here's the lovely Amy holding up one of her lay-outs. I was a bit (ok, a LOT) star-struck! Haven't met one of my fave scrapbookers before. She was really nice and down-to-earth and oh-so-cute!

IMG_3611

She showed us how to make her delightful lay-outs using our own photos and making the pages our own. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that she didn't measure anything. I'm like that 85% of the time. Her style is graphic but the layering is not always concise and purposeful (does that make sense?). I really like that style. I tend to make my cards in that way currently.

IMG_3614

Here are a couple of Amy's LO's that we learned.

IMG_3615

So happy that I got to take it with BFF'ers.

IMG_3613

My favorite part of the class was learning how to make these flowers. I also loved incorporating sewing and fabric into my creations.

IMG_3621

Here's the class.

IMG_3620

Giddy here from meeting such a talented scrapping celebrity! I didn't get into her work until just about a year ago -- I wished I had sooner because before I was married and with kiddies, I always wished for some inspiration on scrapping lay-outs about friends, being young, partying, and traveling! But Amy T (& her style) is definitely someone everybody can relate to.

Amy also blogged about visiting the Bay Area in this post. You could see me in one of the pics! :)

Over the next week, I'll be sharing the lay-outs I created. I'm trying to post as much as I can so I hope you don't mind if I s-t-r-e-t-c-h this topic out. :) LOL!

Instead, here's a pic of my boys in the shirts from Amy's clothing company:

IMG_3599

Should've taken the pic before they ate .. pardon the wrinkles and stains. What can you do? They're young and boys afterall! Haha!
