Happy Mother's Day.

IMG_5826-1
My friend, Alison, once posted that she is a Stay-At-Home-Mom four days a week. Thought this was so clever so I hope you don't mind if I borrow the term, A!
I am lucky enough to have the best of both worlds (well, almost). I work full time three days of the week, and have four days home with my babies. Of course, most days, I am still 'recovering' from either job but for the most part, I have gotten used to it. My hubby is such a big help...I really am very lucky to have him!
And of course, there's my mom. She watches the boys when I'm at work on weekdays. It amounts to about 2 11-hour days for her. And although she's retired, she is very active in her social life. She loves to catch up with friends and still regularly visits her old job. She drives and picks up MK at the preschool, and then makes sure that dinner is cooked not only for her, my dad, and my sis...but also for my family. I get teary-eyed just thinking about how much she does, and how fortunate I am.
My mom and I haven't always gotten along. She was very strict when I was growing up. I was the eldest, and her first 'teen challenge.' I had been a good kid for the most part, but was considered the black sheep of the family having disobeyed a lot of the rules.
Now that I am a mother myself, I appreciate her so much more. And I hope that my kids never go through that talking back stage (who am I kidding??).
The card was created using scraps and Some Odd Girl's Baby Snuggle Kaylee. She was colored with Copics. And the other star of the card is a felt flower hand-made by Cathy from CatShy Crafts. I just love her creations!
And lastly, I would love to thank my sons, MK and O, for making my childhood dream come true. From a very early age, I had always dreamed of being a mother. And had a terrible fear of not being able to bear children. It hasn't always been easy but I absolutely love being one. This video/ commercial says it all... "The hardest job is the best job."

Happy Mother's Day weekend everybody!

Life with Two Boys.

I could stare at him all day long....

And the sweet, older one just wants to kiss him whenever he sees him...

And who said that only little girls have adorable, cute outfits? Thank you to my friends! Darling Amy even made Oliver a card (see bottom right)! So thoughtful, right?

Puppies and Mommyhood

IMG_0387

*sighs*

it is 1:08 a.m. pacific standard time, and I can't sleep. not due to insomnia this time. but i took a two hour nap (late) with the tot, even after he "allowed" me to sleep till 9 am yesterday morning (you moms know that's a luxury!).

so i thought i'd catch up on my blog as i've made a few cards here and there...

this stamp is Tobie and his puppy from Some Odd Girl. they have recently released clear stamps, and i couldn't help but buy a few! i first saw SOG at Yvonne's blog and then Amy inspired me with her awesome creations as Guest DT.

i've colored Tobie up with black hair because he reminds me a lot of my Mattie. MK just loves dogs right now.

here he is walking his toy puppy in our backyard...LOL! pretty soon, we're gonna have to get a real dog because a toy just won't cut it any longer.

anyway, i hope you all had a nice Mother's Day. i sure did. i was supposed to work but got called off as there weren't a lot of patients in the hospital. i'm not really supposed to take those unexpected days off as i'm trying to accrue paid time off for my upcoming maternity leave, but i just couldn't help it. i wanted to spend a nice holiday with my boys and my fam.

i woke up to some nice yellow tulips, a sentimental card, cuddles from my guys, and even breakfast-in-bed.

motherhood has been the best thing that has happened to me (aside my hubby, that is). i feel so blessed that i am expecting another angel in less than two months. i'm a bit nervous about having two but i know that if other people could do it, then i can as well. getting excited about having a soft, little chubby one in my arms again....even if it would be 3:00 am, then 6 am, then....etc, etc. :)

sometimes, i wonder how it's possible to share my love between kids when i love my matthew so much already. but i always knew i'd have more than one child. it's actually always been a dream to have four but i don't know about that now, haha.

being a mom has had its very challenging times, don't get me wrong. it is difficult to put yourself first, much less take a shower in those first few days/ weeks. you sacrifice a lot of things in order to spend quality time with them. but it is always worth it, to know that your child/ children know how much they're loved.

i'm gonna cut it off here as i'm feeling rather sleepy now. till next time, thanks so much for tuning in!

love,

Celebrate Good Times, c'mon!

Photobucket

Happy Saturday, everyone!!! Today is a great day.. it feels like mid-70's outside as the sun is fully out!

I will start my birthday celebrations tonight. Most of my besties and I will be going to Joya, a trendy restaurant that serves Spanish dishes.

I picked the restaurant but I must admit... I'm pretty nervous about getting all dolled up. Being a new mom, I haven't really had the time to put myself together for a special occasion. But I know how important that is so I picked this place to sort of 'force' myself.

I don't have a new outfit but I do have a new bib necklace for my ladies' night. Am truly excited to have fun and chop it up with my ladies! I'll be sure to take some pictures to share with you!

Anyway, today's card is for my niece's Communion celebration. It is a blessed time for Catholics. I don't own any religious stamps so I customized one of my Alice in Wonderland stamps from Sweet Pea. The children are dressed in all white during this special mass. And I've colored her hair black. This card is also for the Copics Creations Challenge # 26 -- coloring black hair.

The PP are from October Afternoon and Scenic Route. I've also used more of my Taylored Expressions March Key Ingredients kit (butterflies, ribbon).

Have a great weekend!
