Let Them Eat Cake!!!

IMG_9560

Hello all!!

I really love this Mae Antoinette (aka Marie Antoinette) image from Some Odd Girl. If you don't know who M.A. is, she was the Queen of France and led a very rich and indulgent life. So I made a really over-the-top and delicious card!!!

IMG_9567

And if you'll excuse me, I'll be eating my card now! Buwahahahahaha!!!!

Embellies are from Jolee's Boutique, Martha's Stewart, and random Kawaii stickers I own! Isn't that background paper perfect too? Her story had a dark side afterall!!

Great Gatsby Guy and Girl.

IMG_8889

Hi all! Sorry, I've been quiet in blogland for a bit, but I am doing quite well relaxing on my staycation that I've forgotten my usual to-do lists.... ooops!

But it's Saturday, and I do have a card featuring another June release from Time for Tea Designs. Y'all know my love for Great Gatsby, so it was only natural that I felt excited when I saw this pair from Jo's stamps!

I decided to leave Great Gatsby Guy in an all white tuxedo number because only Gatsby can pull that off. I colored Great Gatsby Girl up in this rich blue. It almost looks velvet, doesn't it?

Jo has got a great deal going on - buy any stamp from etsy store and you get her "Anyone for Tennis" new release -- she is so cute!! You only have till the weekend to get her though. So act quickly!

I looked for some bling and vintage items to finish this card off. And voila!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Project Life Meets Some Odd Girl.

Hello, lovely peeps!

I wrote today's scrapbooking tutorial on the Some Odd Girl's Blog today. I hope you check it out!

My assignment was to scrap and write about how to use SOG images on Project Life! I really love incorporating both my loves for scrapbooking and stamping/ coloring, so I enjoyed this project to the moon and back!

This page was from our anniversary week. I love how SOG has so many characters and sentiments that you can really tailor to whatever you have going on in your life!

IMG_8662\

For the next two pics, I stamped using Neon ink.

IMG_8666

This sentiment "forever and always" and the mini hearts (center card) are from Love Me Not Mae.

IMG_8664

The heart on the green card is from Flirty Mae. The image below, which is stamped directly on a journal card is also Flirty Mae.

IMG_8663

For the next two pics, I made my own title card. The title card, as you know, usually states the Week documented. I used Katie's tutorial again, and printed them all on one cardstock, colored Scooter Mae with Copics, and used Mr. Huey neon mists on that left upper corner.

IMG_8806

I wasn't planning on the spray effect looking like sun beams / flare but I really like how it came out.

IMG_8769

Then, you probably already saw that I am OBSESSED with the Great Gatsby from this post. Here, I wanted to document the movie and what I loved from it -- depicted here was mainly the style and fashion of that decade.

IMG_8816

I was lucky enough to find sparkly papers and embellies. I sewed on some sequins and included my movie stubs. I used 1920a Kody and Flapper Kaylee again, but this time, I left them uncolored for a more classic effect and to make the bling stand out!

IMG_8810

Then, lastly, I talked about I tend to take pictures of colored images. Here, I used it on a journal card and left the original one for a card. You can truly make the most out of your time! And with the first pic above, I include pics of my cards so that I have them in PL even if I've given them away :).

IMG_8818

You probably already know how I feel about Project Life. As you can see, I documented big events and everyday life. And SOG stamps and images are perfect for it!!!

See y'all very soon!

Angie's Fairies.

IMG_8793

Hola peeps!

It's time for another Angie Delarie Digital Stamp Release! Aren't her fairies super cute and quirky? I always try to find inspiration with what is trending right now, and I have just watched the movie "Epic." Naturally, I wanted to bring in elements of nature on the card -- the crochet flowers, the leaf patterns on the paper, and the floral one on the blue.

IMG_8791

I love how they all look so unique!

The Great Gatsby!

What up, blogland?!

It's the first of the month, and it's time for another Some Odd Girl Sketch Challenge.

IMG_8675

I used Flapper Kaylee and 1920s Kody. Added some sparkly sequins for flair and that fancy leaf that kind of looks like a feather. My favorite embellishment is that beautiful button with small beads and sequins. The purple button is lovely too, and all three embellies on the bottom were from an art kit that I bought from Traci Bautista of TreiC Designs. I think these items were vintage finds.

IMG_8678

Now if you follow me on Instagram, you're probably aware of how obsessed I've become of The Great Gatsby after I saw the movie.

I loved the story line, the actors, the music, the fashion (to die for!). It was very beautiful and captivating! I am now more intrigued of that era, and am truly considering having a 1920s-themed party!

Anyway, back to the card. I am really loving emerald green right now (Pantone's color of the year) so I colored her dress with it. I researched the make-up back then and came up with "dark lipstick and eyes lined with kohl." If you can't tell by now, I truly love adding make-up to SOG images :).

IMG_8708

I don't have a lot of art-deco inspired patterned paper, but the black and white one was close enough, I thought. I also changed up Kaylee's shoes to have that T-strap sandal style that was known back then with my Copic multi-liner.

I hope you get to join in on this fun challenge! Visit the SOG blog for more details and inspiration!

Blissful Girl.

**** PLEASE GO HERE FOR MY CATSHY CRAFTS FELT FLOWERS GIVEAWAY***

IMG_6532-1

Hello folks! Long time, no talk!

I decided to play along with Saturated Canary's Outdoor Challenge # 23.

I really love Krista's ballerina / circus beauty. I couldn't find it in her shop but I know she's a pretty popular digital image of hers.

I paired her with Allison Kreft's line from Echo Park -- the beach/boardwalk-theme on this paper is actually based on Santa Cruz. It's youthful and fun. I dabbled some paint randomly and added girly embellies.

Am planning on giving this card to my niece, who loves ballet and lots of summer activities. She is young and vibrant and girly so I wanted to make it a fun and layered card. And this card is to congratulate her on her success and talent as a ballerina. She's even training under one of the renound coaches in the documentary, First Position.

And I just LOVE LOVE coloring her hair!

Miniatures

IMG_5916-1

Hi everybody,

Today's post features Charlotte at Paper Airplane. Isn't she so cute? What attracted me to her the most was her sense of uninhibition..I mean, look at that wide, toothy smile! :)

When I was at the tender age of 13, I tried to only smile with my lips closed together. I was self conscious of my crooked teeth and then later on, my braces. One of my BFFs, M, told me to smile showing my teeth, and I got a lot of compliments for it. It definitely helped me get through that awkward stage better.

And doesn't this particular Milk Coffee Stamp remind you of the popular '80s cartoon, The Littles? Yup, that's another thing I used to do when I was younger. I used to pretend that my miniature toys were little people :). If you haven't yet seen the movie "The Secret World of Arriety," you must! It's a wonderful movie -- it's like the Anime version of The Littles.

Ok, gotta go now! Have a fab day!

Favorite Book Turned into a Movie at TGF.

IMG_4611

Hello, everybody!

I barely made it, but I decided to play along with The Greeting Farm's Customer Challenge at Splitcoaststampers- "A Night at the Bookstore."

I went with the Favorite Book Turned into A Movie and went with The Help. It was my favorite book last year. And I felt that the movie did the book some justice. If you haven't read it yet, I suggest you dive into this moving tale about this historic time. Despite some challenges, these women show a great lesson in humanity. They overcame adversity through friendship and love.

I chose Nurse Anya, Cheeky Cherry Pie, and a retired stamp called Hope and Grace Laundry (i think). I altered them a bit by taking off the nurse's cap and cutting Cheeky's hair. Pardon the uneven coloring of their faces as I do not own all of the Copics to do African American faces.

And yay, I got to use my scraps! The crinkled ribbon is home made by Amy.
-----------------------------------

In other news, have you seen how I was picked to be on the SOG Customer Showcase? I FINALLY 'won' something at SOG, LOL. And I'm very grateful to Amy, who was actually the one who chose my card. Amy, thank you so much - you are probably my biggest supporter here!! For more info on my card, see this post.

Edward & Bella.

Because of the whole Twilight movie hype last month, I wanted to make a card featuring Edward and Bella. There were so many new stamps, all were very cute! But my faves have to be the oldies-but-goodies from The Greeting Farm because Edward's hair is right on!! LOL!

I also entered this card for the DT call over at TGF. I didn't make it, and I'm ok with that because so far, I am loving the new Premiere Farmers -- their work is so stunning and their creativity is stellar!

I did a semi-scenic card here. I have been obsessed with woodsy-themes lately (see my other recent forest card here).

I mean, the woods is only appropriate right? A lot of my favorite scenes from the movies happened there. I wanted to make it ultra-romantic and also show my love of mixing patterns. I used floral and lacey elements along with linear and masculine colors.

IMG_3873

The stamps are TGF's WS Camille and WS Edward. The papers are mostly from Basic Grey, and the beautiful flower on the top left corner was made by Cathy from Catshy Crafts.

Also, please take note! There's a special sale at Sparkle Creations!

Have an awesome day!

Gifts & Weddings

IMG_0418

Hello y'all!

I needed a gift card holder for one of my co-workers, and this Maya Road envelope was perfect. I decorated it with old papers from an old set of TGF patterned papers as well as Mama Anya.

And speaking of gifts, I am planning on giving these goodies, along with this to card that I made in March.

IMG_9837

A dear friend is having her bachelorette in NYC and I thought she should have this mini-Emergency kit for her vacay. Got it (& the image) from Sephora, & it includes that ultra tiny gold bag, hairspray, Advil, mending kit, etc. Basically, anything you would need when you're looking your absolute best and want to stay that way! Heck, it would even be handy for her big day!

And while we are on the topic of weddings, YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS MOVIE!

Bridesmaids is hilarious! If you loved 40-year-old Virgin or The Hangover, you'll like this movie. Hahahahaha!! I was in hysterics during the entire time. If you've ever been a bridesmaid or a bride, had a best friend or have hit rock bottom, you will appreciate it. I absolutely loved the cast!

Did I mention that you should see this movie?? :)

First Movie

As part of my birthday week, I wanted to try to go to the movies with Mattie. It would be his first time, and I wanted to see if he was ready to share in one of our fave past times.

At home, he could mostly "sit" through a Disney DVD. He especially likes Toy Story 2 and Finding Nemo.

Here's a pic of my big boy in his cute skinny jeans and very own popcorn. He loved munching on it but thought the blue Icee that I got was weird.

For the most part, he did well. The last 20 minutes or so consisted of getting out of his seat and walking down the aisle, flipping chairs up and playing with the drink holder. He kept looking back at me and pointing at the "bok-kok." That's his word for birds (he mostly says animal sounds for animals :)). I couldn't help it, I had to take a picture of this.

After the movie, I asked one of the theater workers if Rio had a poster we could take a pic with. They only had the gigantic beach ball up on top but I knew I didn't want to miss taking a photograph of it.

Rio was hilarious, very entertaining! I knew that Mattie would love it as it had lots of animals and music/dancing. I enjoyed it as well! We were dancing along- at least our top halves of the body were trying to mimick the samba!

Here's a shot of MK outside the theater. I had a hard time getting him back in the car. Thought he'd be sleepy by then since it was close to naptime, but I think he was still too excited! So proud of my l'il tater tot!!

As part of a reward, I got him a Happy Meal that featured a toy from the movie. I saved the box to maybe make scrapbooking embellishments to scrap these pictures, but maybe I'll try to find some acid-free stickers of the movie characters instead. I'm even thinking of making Rio the theme of his upcoming bday :).

Thanks for stopping by!

Sah-weet & Sexay!

Photobucket

Happy Hump Day, folks!! Just four more shifts, and I'm on vacay for almost two weeks!! Saahhhh-weeeettt!

And speaking of sweet, isn't this new girlie from TGF's Spotlight stamping set soo sugar-y adorable?

Decided to make a card with her using the sweetest of products --- Dear Lizzy's Spring line of course! I just love that branch with the birdhouse and clock! Also used some Prima chipboard flowers and PP & ribbon from one of Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kit.

And AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!! I can't wait till May 27th!!!

And remember that there's still time to win a Club Anya & Friends stamp when you join in on the Monday Mania - Ephemera challenge that I'm hosting. You have until Saturday, the 17th, to post your creation here.

A lot of you may not know what ephemera is. Remember that it is anything that you would not typically use for making a card or scrapbooking. It could be a ticket stub, some type of packaging, a magnet of some sort.

Aside from Kelly's and Amy's examples on the post, I've also seen a great example on Traci's blog.

And although these are not for the CA&F challenge, I've also seen amazing ephemera used on Tanya's ATC and Yvonne's creation.

But I discovered the MOTHERLOAD of all ephemera --- this whole blog is all about re-using and recycling. And they have a special blog hop on Earth Day! Yippppeeee!!!

Till later!
