It's Magic!

IMG_9531

Good Tuesday morning, peeps!!

Today, I've got a card for you for two challenges. First, there's a paper piercing challenge over at Milk Coffee Challenge and a DT call too. I haven't paper-pierced in so long! They've got some really cute digi stamps. Unfortunately, I ran out of ink so I couldn't print up any of their freebies going on right now. Make sure you get yours here! Otherwise, I've got a couple of Milk Coffee cards here and here.

I've forgotten the beauty you get from a paper-pierced image. I always thought you lose dimension, but now you can add that with similar-toned copics/ ink. Here, I combined this challenge with the Ombre challenge going on at Some Odd Girl.

IMG_9523

I really love this Wild and Free line from Glitz Design. There are a lot of ombre elements here -- that feather PL card is captivating, and her wings, dress, flowers, and shoes are from the same line. I made sure to paper pierce exactly where the ombre part would show on her wings and dress. The mint background paper is from Dear Lizzy. I added some lace and washi and pearls for a feminine feel. I've also created some ombre waves in her hair. The image and sentiment are from SOG's Fairy Magic, and it's my first time using her.

The card and image are pretty meaningful as I had just come back from the land of Magic -- Orlando and its Walt Disney World and Universal's Harry Potter Land. I also attended the Magnet Conference for nurses and its theme was the "Magic of Magnet." :)

Hope you have a truly magical day!

Mother's Day.

IMG_8607

Hello, folks! Long time, no see!

I've been really bad about blogging, but I have been busy crafting away on future projects.

This week, aside from the full time job and DT committments, I've attended a recognition reception at work, renewed my CPR certification, & attended a Mother's Day breakfast. Busy week, but there were some great moments! :). I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend too!

So I usually try to reserve Saturdays for Time for Tea Designs. This Girl on Bench digi stamp is so lovely and versatile. Another DT member, Anita, put her on grass. I put her on a park walkway. I got to practice drawing based on dimensions and perspectives. This takes me back to my art classes back in high school and college. I should've made the walkway a bit bigger though :).

The clouds are made by cutting a cloud stencil on just your basic white cardstock. I used some metallic pigments on a piece of napkin (cotton balls work too), and just rubbed the edges of the stencil out. And for the grass, I used just basic flicking motions with my green Copics.

I think I will be giving this card away to my sister for Mother's Day. The floral designs are perfect for it!

Speaking of Mother's Day, I wish you all a lovely one tomorrow! We'll be celebrating at my mom's with a nice brunch and my hubby said he'll let me sleep in again (just like today!). I'm thanking God for all my blessings, big and small!

---------------------------------------------

Oh, and in other news, please don't forget that this is going on at Some Odd Girl's Ning Community:

There are so many STELLAR entries! I had a tough time picking my vote! Remember that voting ends next Wednesday!

See you tomorrow!

Isn't she cute? I hope Kristy makes her into a stamp! And her coloring skills are so amazing, right?

And speaking of Idol, are you all watching American Idol? Who's your favorite so far? I'm so glad the girls are kicking a$$ since the winners in the past few years have been guys!

See you soon!

Nerd Appreciation Day!

IMG_5895-1
Hi folks!

I read on Facebook today that it's Nerd Appreciation Day, so I wanted to post this card! Hee hee! I think this bookworm from Some Odd Girl is too cute-- Professor Inch.

I am entering this for the current sketch challenge at SOG.

IMG_5897-1

I also wanted to thank you for telling me how to get back on the old blogger interface. I think it's much user friendly for me. :)

Sorry so short! Off to do some fun with the boys!

Cutie Panda.

IMG_5844-1
WOW!
I bet you're wondering why I'm posting so much all in one day?
Hope y'all don't mind...but I have lots of things going on during the rest of the week: work, appointments, etc. I just want to make sure that I get my cards in for the challenges this week. We all know how good I am at getting my creations in on time, Buwahahah! :)
I am entering this baby shower card to the SOG's Bright Color Challenge. Thought it'd be fun and a bit whimsical to color up Pinwheel Panda pink for our friends' upcoming baby girl! I paired her with the slightly off-beat Cosmo Cricket 23 and thought that it came out pretty sassy! I also experimented a bit with some paper-braiding action there in the corner, LOL!
IMG_5846-1
Ok, that's it from me for tonight. I actually got some cards made in advance but I'll be saving those for the weeks to come! Still going strong on my goal of crafting/posting three times a week. I gotta pace myself though, tee hee! I might need one of those when I get behind.
Sending you some hugs!

Card for Royalty.

IMG_4501

Happy Friday, peeps!

I finally got a hold of my first La La Land stamp, and I love him! It's Prince Luka, and I think he's perfect for a birthday card for my Dad!

Now some of you might say that the image might not be 'sophisticated' enough for a senior man, but I disagree. Take a look at this picture:

You see, my dad would probably appreciate just about anything with his first grandson on it. Doesn't Mattie look like Luka? Of course, it's due to that 'bowl' haircut my father-in-law gave him with a flowbee on Christmas week....but that is another story!!!!! Mind you it was done without our permission!! *shakes head*. LOL!

I also thought the stamp was appropriate because my dad's last name (my maiden name) means 'Kings.' And he's always been proud of it and his heritage. I took it a little step further and colored the image using the colors of the Philippines, which is our native land. :)

I used the Deconstructed Sketch # 33.

I'm also entering it for Some Odd Girl's Bling it Up Challenge.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Christmas in her Living Room

Happy Saturday, everyone!

I just had to continue the SOG love from yesterday's blog hop. I've got a card featuring Sweet Thinkin' Mae for their Inspiration Challenge (wow, a lotta links here, eh?).

Here's the pic:

I went with the colors and Holiday theme.

IMG_2438

Can I just tell you that I love this scene? It's so cozy and warm. I love that there's a fireplace. In our home, we don't have one but I've always wanted a mantle. I think it's such a great place to decorate for any holiday. Here, I left it alone because there are a lot of 'pictures' above. And there are already stockings hanging.

IMG_2442

If you noticed, Mae looks a bit different here. Wanted to try out stamping with no black lines again like I did here. But for some reason, I like the other one better. Maybe because it looks like her features changed here? Instead of lining her facial features with my copic multiliner in black, i did it with a brown spica pen. Except for her eyes because she's wearing eye-liner and all :).

Stamping without the black lines also made the image look like a watercolor painting again, which matches more with the soft background.

Supplies:
CS- Bazzill. Neenah.
PP- Echo Park ('wallpaper'). Bo Bunny ('hardwood floor'). Creative Imaginations ('rug').
Die-cuts- Not sure; there was no name on the packaging. It's a new product. Anybody know?
Tiles- Prima.
Twine- House of Threes.
Sentiment- Paper Smooches' Word Up.
Ink- Jenni Bowlin. Ippity.

Have a wonderful weekend, everybody! Looking forward to going shopping for some shelves for my craftroom!! I've been waiting for a year! I'm determined to get most of the organization done before I go back to work.

Tata!

Dance Like No One is Watching.

IMG_2340

Hello, blog world!

It's Tuesday, and I'm playing along at the Stitching Challenge at Some Odd Girl.

At first, I told myself I wasn't going to play along. In the craft world, I am weakest at sewing so I thought I'd pass. But I had already colored this image a couple of weeks ago and I had a scene in mind.

I don't know what it is about scenic cards, but everytime it all comes together for me, I feel really successful :). Like my mind is saying, "WHOA! What I see in front of me is what's exactly in my head." It's nice when your supplies and embellishments just mesh together to depict a picture, y'know?

Echo Park's Happy Days line is probably inspired by the sitcom that starred Richie Cunningham, Joanie, and of course, who could forget "The Fonz." When I saw the jukebox sticker, I knew I had to somehow pair it with Dancin' Mae. Ummm, I know... you're probably saying that she's actually listening to her MP3 player, but the dancing looks so much better with the jukebox there too! LOL!

I wanted the scene straight from a mom & pop restaurant corner -- as you can see, there's a clock and a poster. I wanted a checkered floor but this Creative Imaginations PP was close enough.

The difficult part for me was the sewing as I do not own a sewing machine (much less know how to use one). Luckily, I was able to use my sew easy tool and that made it quicker to hand-stitch.

Off on a tangent here, but as I'm writing down my supplies, I am getting really excited! You see, I've heard about and seen them in a couple of blogs now - I've started an account at InLinkz. Have y'all heard about this blog tool that lists down your supplies using images? The Link Manager looks really neat! I've seen them on Sparkle's and Patricia's blogs. Hope to include the cute icons/ links tomorrow but I doubt it as I'll be going to a baseball game tonight. I'm so excited to finally go out! But I also feel antsy when I don't get to craft :(.

Anyway, I hope you all have a stellar rest of the day!!!

Opposing Colors

IMG_2003

Hi everyone,

I've had this Baby Snuggle Kaylee colored up for a while now and was pleasantly surprised when it fitted the criteria for the Some Odd Girl complimentary colors challenge. Those two colors are blue-green and red-orange.

I also used Deconstructed Sketch No. 15 for the design template.

The cardstocks are from Bazzill and Neenah. The patterned papers are all from Cosmo Cricket except the punched damask one which is from Fancy Pants Design. The pre-made tags are also from Fancy Pants Design. The ribbon is from American Craft's Dear Lizzy. Miscellaneous items include Copics, flowers, a Martha Stewart punch, and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches (Word Up sentiments).

Sorry to cut this short here. I am blogging 'real time' and gotta get to sleep. Have a wonderful day!

Thanks 'Fairy' Much!!

IMG_1894

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

My card for today is for the Thank You Challenge over at Some Odd Girl.

I used Bu'Fly Tia because she is so darn cute! And because I thought she paired well with this Enchanted patterned paper from Dear Lizzy (American Crafts). You see, I am trying to make more room for the new CHA stuff, he he he! I hoarded Dear Lizzy, and now I am obsessed with the Amy Tangerine line!! :)

Speaking of being thankful, I really do want to take the time to be grateful for all of my blessings. I always rave about how I've been able to create these past few weeks. I'm also getting a little bit more sleep as the newbie settles into a schedule. And we got some great news after a mild health scare in the family.

Anyway, back to the card -- I wanted to hand-write part of the sentiment to say, "Thanks Fairy Much," but I was scared I'd ruin it. I really am very much in love with the sentiment stamps over at Paper Smooches. That is HUGE for me! In case you didn't know, I used to boycott buying sentiments...LOL!

Supplies:
Cardstock- Bazzill. Neenah.
PP- Dear Lizzy's Enchanted and Spring (American Crafts).
Ribbon- Crate Paper Trims.
Brad & Stickers- American Crafts.
Pearls- Martha Stewart.
Sentiment- Paper Smooches.
Ink- Memento (black). Hero Arts (soft peach). Copics (Sketch).

Stay tuned for my last A Week in the Life post,

Lifting an Odd Girl.

IMG_1683

Happy Monday everyone!

Today, I am playing in the SOG's Lift an Odd Girl Challenge. I decided to lift Leah's fabulous card. I just adore her coloring and the scene of her card -- and you all know how much I LOVE scenic creations, right??

The stickers are all from Echo Park except for the banners (which are from American Craft's Dear Lizzy). I couldn't find the right green ribbon to crinkle for the bottom the way Leah did. So I just took a trim sticker and proceeded to fold randomly.

Anyway, I gotta run. Sorry for such a short post but I've got a doc appointment today. Have a wonderful day!

Bright & Blinding Colors!

IMG_1241

Hi everybody!

Hope y'all are enjoying your 4th of July weekend (& Canada Day weekend for my friends up north)!!

It's my last official weekend before baby2 comes. Lots of nesting going on -- re-organizing his clothes and Mattie's new/ old clothes sure are taking up tons of time. Then I had my last doc's appointment too. Whew! It's all becoming very real! Our family of three will soon be a fam of 4!!

Anyway, with all the errands and chores, I was so glad I had time to craft these past couple of days. Just in time, too, because one of my new favorite stamp line had a challenge -- SOG's Bright & Blinding Challenge.

It's exactly as it sounds! Perfect for the summer! Dunno about your neck of the woods but it sure is sweltering HOTT over here!

I picked out my brightest and loudest patterned paper - MARGARITA from American Crafts. This line just makes me smile and wish I was on a vacation. And since I got some new Copics, I decided to make Ice Cream Tia ginger :). Everybody seems to be having highlights right now (I'm jealous!), and so I added some highlights/ low-lights to her hair too.

I even added freckles.. I just think Tia (obtained from an image swap with a friend) is soooo cute! I was inspired by sneak peeks on SOG's Facebook page of a freckled-faced new image :). BTW, my lil sis and I are the only pure Filipinos I know who have freckles, LOL! Actually, she does...I'm hoping mine are freckles and not age/sun spots (YIKES!).

IMG_1240

I also 'twirled' the edges of the polka dotted paper (AC's Mambo) using a BBQ skewer - saw it at my LSS and loved the element/ texture it added to the page. The popcicle/ ice cream stamp is from Studio G. And here are the Copics I used:

Hope you come back soon!
