fun

i decided i would scrap more of my everyday routines. this pic, for example, was when i was stuck in traffic driving from the city. what better way to showcase my new stunnas than while driving? LOL!! i was able to afford them because of my friend's gift certificate towards my past birthday. i'm really starting to go for high quality things--i guess this goes with getting older. but i thank God everyday that i have a job that enables me to afford such luxuries!

another addition to the list

So I thought I wanted a Treo, but now I read about the iPhone and is it bad that I want one?? Add it to my list of "Things that I want but can't get because of my wedding." I know it's so darn expensive ($600), it's uninsurable (I will probably drop it a million times), and the phone service is not cheap (although with my existing account with Cingular/AT&T, I would probably get a discount). Hmm, maybe I'll wait for the second (and probably better and cheaper) installment?!

On a good note, I was added to Kristina Contes' faves on SIS TV!!! YEAH!!!! Such a highlight of my day!!

my style

i believe that my scrapbooking style is a mixture of altered & clean. it reminds me of my yearbook title junior year-- "Organized Chaos." I love the trend of using non-traditional products like paint and fabric, but i also love the look of simple, precised scrapbooking.

so i did four lay-outs today, and if you look closely, you'll see aspects of both styles (although i focus on the more artsy/collage-y part, which i'm trying to improve). and all before 3:00!!! yay!

you can probably tell by all of the lay-outs and pics that i'm closer to my other sister. but i love my other one just the same, and we've come to terms even though we butt heads a lot. this is my fave l.o. out of the four i did today. i love the color combos, and the artsy feel reminds me so much of our trip to new york!! it's so funny because i even used steel wool (like the kind for washing dishes) to alter the cardstock!! LOL!!

Supplies used-- Cardstocks: Bazzill; Title, fabric: kol laj by Traci Bautista; Ink: VersaMagic, Stampin' Up; Stickers: Creative Imaginations, K & Company, Provo Craft; Mini Folder: Jim Holtz from Design Originals; Copper heart: Petals and Possibilities; Staples: Making Memories; Stamp: 7 gypsies; Pens: Micron, Sharpie.

My friend's turquoise-y looking dress is so beautiful! But I wanted to showcase it, so instead of matching the paper to that one, I highlighted it.

Supplies used-- Cardstock: Bazzill; Painted paper towel/ paper: kol laj by Traci Bautista; Strips and Stickers: Love, Elsie from KI Memories; Letters: K & Company, Mrs. Grossman's, Dymo; Pens: Micron; Flower Charms: Imaginisce; Spiral Clip: Creative Impressions.

I can't believe they're all grown up!! Love the moms and babies!!

Supplies used-- Cardstock: Bazzill; Painted paper: kol laj by Traci Bautista; Ribbon: Creative Expressions; Ink: Stampin' Up; Doodle cut-out: Hambly; Stickers: All My Memories, Reminisce.

i think that this is my favorite journaling so far...

Supplies used--Patterned paper: Bo Bunny; Ribbon: Maya Road; Painted paper: kol laj by Traci Bautista; Flowers: Prima; Dots: Love, Elsie from KI Memories; Acrylic Paint: Reeves; Pen: Sharpie; Other: Lace.

my entry to dare 69

i entered a dare at kristina contes' blog. i was so excited to enter because i love this dare!! the theme was 'love at first sight,' and although this pic wasn't my first choice (i couldn't find the one of my fave purse), i am happy with the result! the scanning of my l.o. sucks though because those pom-poms are so damn thick!! :).

journaling: "Meeting my nephew for the first time was like love @ first sight! His precious smile, his sweet cheeks, and tiny toes hooked me in!! I love this baby boy!!"

supplies used-- Cardstock: Bazzill; Painted tag, transparency, & fabric: kol laj by Traci Bautista; Big Painted Strip: Reeves Acrylic Paint; Rub-ons: foof-a-la; Round stickers, strip of squares: Love, Elsie from KI Memories; Wire, Staples: Making Memories; Miniature License Plate: Jolee's; Pens: Stabilo, Uniball, Sharpie.

am inspired

Was in Arizona this weekend, and I tried to visit some of Mesa's fine scrapbooking stores as seen in some of the magazines. Maybe it's because I wasn't meant to spend over my already busted June budget. Three of those stores were closed on Sundays!!

So I just checked out the blogs of my two new favorite scrapbookers: Elsie F. and Kristina C. I was so inspired and couldn't wait to scrapbook, and VOILA!! I got four done. Yippee!!!

This has gotta be one of my most fave lay-out. It features the Love, Elsie line and Traci Bautista. Not to mention the tropical colors!! I am so inspired with this for scrapbooking and my wedding!!

Supplies Used-- B&W Grid Paper: Reminisce; Cloud Strip, Rub-ons (Letters and Plane): Love, Elsie from KI Memories; Black/White Paisley strip: doodlebug design inc.; Pen: Micron; Paper Clip: Making Memories; Square cut-outs: Hambly; Painted Paper: kol laj by Traci Bautista.

I was inspired by our outfits here and wanted to do black and white with a hint of orange and gold.

Supplies Used-- B/W paper: Luxe; Strips: heidi grace designs; Rub-ons: Daisy D's; Acrylic paint: Reeves; B/W Strip and Stickers: Reminisce.

I love this swirly black and white paper. I wanted to put an artistic pic to match. Usually, I find the paper to match the pic. This is more of the non-traditional style I love from artists like Elsie, Kristina, and even Traci B. (though she doesn't really scrap).

Supplies used-- B/W paper: Luxe; Acrylic Paint: Reeves; Stickers and strip: Love, Elsie from KI Memories; B/W Stickers and Strip: Reminisce; Pens: Sharpie and Micron.

These two are some of my wonderful friends. I wanted to lay-out to be quirky, just like the pictures! My favorite pic here is the one of the cake. It was fun, colorful, and was missing a piece on one side (it got stuck to the container!)---kinda how I want my scrapbooking to be: fun, full of embellishments, and not too perfect!!

Supplies used-- Brown cardstock: My Mind's Eye; Polka Dot strip: daisy d's; Painted paper and heart: kol laj by Traci Bautista; Ribbon: Michael's; Pens: Micron, Sharpie.

the bold and the basics

went over my scrapbooking budget....AGAIN!! i don't know how i'm going to do this. with 10 months or so away for my wedding, i really need to save up! a friend sent me pics of her recent engagement and she had this photo right in front of the beach in the bahamas. now our engagement was really simple, and that's fine but i really want a nice honeymoon picture right in front of the beach, too!! okay, okay....i'll work very hard to use all my supplies :).

the first 2 lay-outs are meant to be combined as one, so's the next 2. these are the "basics." the last lay-out speaks for itself--there's nothing "basic" about it :)
