Stitching Love & Arrows.

IMG_8709

Hello, peeps!

Are you all having a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend so far? I'm working today, but was off yesterday, and we had a big party for my mom's birthday. And then, I'm off for a couple days again after today and am still kinda planning on what to do for the actual Holiday. How about you?

For today, I've got a card for Christmas Card Challenges # 26. This week, you are to do some stitching on your project. Don't worry... if you are sewing-machine-illiterate like moi, you can also just draw your stitches. I had fun with my card and used Amy Tangerine's sewing template for the squiggly arrow and word "love." It is so easy to use!

I'm so glad that I actually stitched on my card. I really love that look and always get bummed that I can't do it on my cards or scrapbook lay-outs. But the template makes it possible and fun!

Remember that CCC's weekly challenges are optional. The only real rule is to make a Holiday or winter-themed card. Hope you can join us!

IMG_8711

And, sadly, this is the end of my term at CCC. I've been on the DT since the end of 2011, and I've decided that it's time to move on. I really enjoyed making Christmas cards throughout the year. It has been tough, but so well worth it at the end. I've also liked the flexibility of virtually using any product you want and just conforming them to the week's challenge at hand. Thank you so much, Sparkle, Stephanie, and Alanna for giving me the chance and being such great coordinators! And also to all of you who have visited my blog and joined in on the challenges. I will miss posting Holiday cards every Sunday. :(

Enjoy your weekend,

Candles at CCC.

IMG_8633

Hi all!

For this week's challenge at Christmas Card Challenges (#25), make a Holiday or Winter-themed card with candles. This was quite a challenge for me as I didn't own any stamps or images with a candle in it.

I ended up using this Taylored Expressions stamps called Treasure Life and made one jar into a candle. Tee hee!

IMG_8634

Sometimes, you have to improvise. I didn't have any paper with a candle on it either. My next step would've been to adhere a real (small) candle on a card :).

I got to use my scraps too. Not to mention, this was a stamped image that I was storing for a couple of years already!

Have a spectacular Sunday! Hope you get to visit the CCC blog for more info and DT inspiration!

Some Magic!

IMG_8604

Good morning, everyone!

And Happy Mother's Day!

For Christmas Card Challenges, it's all about a color scheme this week (#24). The challenge is to make a Holiday card in teal, brown, and cream. These always prove difficult for me because I am neurotic about only using those colors and was even hesitant about putting any color on her lips! Haha!

I also colored this beautiful Sweet November Noelle stamp (created by Amy Young) super early and totally forgot about the challenge at first. So I had adhered her on a card, and then I totally remembered. Luckily, she didn't come apart when I took her off.

The sentiment is a stamp from Kelly Purkey. Remember how when I first started card-making, I thought sentiments were a waste and I would just hand-write them? I love them now!!

Have a wonderful day!

Shaped Cards at CCC.

IMG_8585

Hello, hello, hello!

For our 23rd challenge at CCC, it's all about shaped cards! I know that you probably know by now that I still do not own any die-cutting machine! Although I now have a silhoutte cameo, but I haven't opened it yet!

Anyway, I didn't know how I was going to come up with a shaped card until I dug through my supplies and found this giant die of an ornament. So I just adhered mini die-cuts of snowflakes and a stamped image from the Meoples Nativity set (angel).

IMG_8586

A pretty quick and clean and simple card for moi. I hope you all get to play. And if you need more inspiration and details, go to the Christmas Card Challenges blog. Remember that the challenge is optional, all you need is a Holiday or winter-themed card.

Have a great one!!

Getting Sketch-y for CCC # 22.

Good Sunday morning, everyone!

I don't know about you, but I am pooped!

I have been on vacation, but it has been a whirlwind of a vacation. Y'know, the kind you need a vacay after the vacay, LMAO! Haha!

Today, I'm featuring the week's Christmas Card Challenge! Week # 22 consists of a sketch. You can view it by going here.

IMG_8226

Not sure what posessed me to use blue as the base cardstock, but how I regret it. The card doesn't really look cohesive. When Christmas comes, I'm thinking of cutting them up to tags (shhhh!!!):

I think this stamp set is super cute. However, i do not remember where are from but they were so fun and funny!!

Hope you have a great rest of your weekend!

Starry Ornaments.

IMG_8088

Hello blogland!

It's time for another Christmas Card Challenge, and this week (# 21), the goal is to include an ornament in your creation!

But remember that the challenge is optional, and that your card just has to be a Holiday or winter-themed card.

I decided to use an older stamp that I have. I am not quite sure of the brand, but I thought it would be refreshing to use a different type of image. Plus, I was due to make a religious Christmas card. :)

Added these star embellies and drew some strings to mimic the star in the image.

Hope you all get to find more inspiration on the CCC blog! I can't believe it's nearing the end of April already! The Holidays will be here before ya know it! Why not get the Christmas cards done, peeps? LOL

Talk to ya later!

Mele Kalikimaka to you!

IMG_8028

Good Sunday mornin'!

It's time for Christmas Card Challenges # 20 - the theme this week is wings!

I wanted to stay away from the usual angels and I was itching to color up some TGF. She's wearing a swimsuit though so I decided to do a Hawaiian Holiday card (I love Hawaii!).

Added some trim I bought from the islands - from a scrap booking store in Maui, in fact! And the main paper is from
Kelly Purkey's December daily kit.

Have a wonderful day!

Vintage Santa Baby.

IMG_7948

Hi peeps!

Today, at Christmas Card Challenges, marks the first day of challenge # 19 -- vintage is the theme!

I finally got to use this little TGF cutie. I've got her colored up for a few months now, and decided that her subtle coloring is perfect for a vintage card.

My hubby and I stayed at a hotel in Sacramento called The Citizen Hotel. It's pretty much a very 'art-deco' type of hotel and I believe the original 1920s building is used. It has many vintage details. I love that hotel!! Our room's walls remind me of these papers I used on the card (sorry, I'm really bad at writing down my supplies).

I hope you get to stop by the CCC blog and see more of the other DT members' work. Remember that you don't have to follow our specific theme, you can just enter a card that has a Holiday feel, a Christmas theme, or a Winter look!

Hugs to you!

Easter!

IMG_7903

Good Sunday to you, folks!

And for those of you celebrating, Happy Easter!!!

It might rain around here so we're planning on doing an egg hunt indoors at my sis' new place. I hope to also go to church and do some cooking!

Today, I'm showing you a card for Christmas Card Challenges # 18. The goal is to include a reindeer on your card! Remember that the challenge is optional - you really just need to create a Winter-themed or Holiday-related card. I tend to always make Christmas cards so I thought I'd change it up and make a snow day card :).

The cute reindeer was colored to show some fur texture and he is from Some Odd Girl's Deck the Hall set. And I am quite proud that I am chipping away at all of my Holiday paper stash!

I don't know about you, but this is about the time I get a little antsy with making Holiday cards. It's getting warmer and it doesn't feel like winter at all (at least in my neck of the woods). But I just gotta keep chugging along because I have my eye on the prize -- that is, lots and lots of Christmas cards come the Holiday season and less stress about getting other things done!!

So pls join me on this challenge! I hope you visit the CCC blog and look at the other inspiration from the Design Team members!

Polar Bear

IMG_7854

Hello! And good Sunday mornin' to ya!

It's time for another Christmas Card Challenges # 17, and this week it's all about CAS (clean and simple). Not my usual style but it's refreshing to do once in a while!

I used this cutie polar bear from Some Odd Girl. I really fought against myself to not add anything but the paper and sentiment washi...whew! That was hard!

Please visit the blog for more info! Thanks so much for playing along!

Here in Florida..

Good Sunday morning!!

I am actually writing this post on the East Coast! I'm away on a trip for my sister's birthday & we are having lots of fun in Florida! It's our first time here and we are grateful for Harry Potter land in Universal Studios :). I feel like I'm truly at Hogwarts!

Anyway, I have a post for Christmas Card Challenges today. The week's challenge is an inspirational pic - pls view it on the CCC blog. I've actually got this image from All That Scraps' Meoples I Want Candy colored up previously. I'm so glad it worked!

Daylight Savings...

IMG_7844

Good Sunday mornin', everyone!!!

It has been a crazy work week, but after the middle of this week, I have some time off! I'm hoping to catch up on your blogs and have some crafty time too. I'm going on a bit of a vacation but I'm not quite sure how much I'll be bringing. And by that, I mean art supplies like Copics!

Anyway, for Christmas Card Challenges (#15), it's sketchy time! There's a sketch on the blog that you should use as a guide. Of course, like all the challenges at CCC, this one's optional. All we really require is that you create a Holiday or Winter-themed card.

I followed the sketch pretty much to a T! The image of this handsome angel is from Make it Crafty. I'm so proud of myself for not buying any new Christmas supplies and chipping away at my Xmas stash :). I hope you visit the other DT blogs for more inspiration!

Have a great rest of the weekend!

I had one day off in between two long stretches of work. I told myself that I'd just stay in bed all day, catch up on my DVR, cuddle with the kiddies, and may be do some Project Life. I really needed to rest. But the day was so beautiful outside. And I had missed my sisters (one just came back from celebrating her bday in Vegas and the other went back to work after having her baby). So the boys and I joined the two of them and my niece. We had lunch at a new, local joint (it was pretty good). And then, of course, went shopping! I was in dire need of something to organize the supplies I use for Project Life, and I'm excited that I found something.

In the end, I was pretty beat. And with my luck, of course it had to be Daylight Savings. For those of you who are not familiar with it, at 2 AM on Sunday morning, we move the clocks forward. Meaning 2 AM would really be 3...so that means I lose an hour of sleep. GAAAAAH!!! This is so there'd be an hour extra of sun light at night (hence the term daylight savings). G has turned all the clocks to the Daylight Savings time already so it kinda feels like it's pretty late.

*yawn* 'scuse me. Toodles!!

Anything Goes at CCC.

IMG_7826

Happy, happy Sunday!

For this week at Christmas Card Challenges (#14), it's anything goes!

So I decided to make something quite simple and change it up a little bit. I've made a card without any image on it. :)

Hope you get to play along!! I know it might be getting a l'il warmer where you are but it would be cool to have so many homemade Christmas cards ready to give in December! You can view more DT inspiration on the CCC blog.

Toodles,

I've been on the Naughty List...

IMG_7766 (2)

Good morning, peeps! How have you all been??

Me? I've been BAD. Very, very bad!! If you hadn't noticed, I haven't blogged much at all. I've been fulfilling my DT committments and have been crafty but I've just been lazy about laying it all in here. I've been doing lots of Project Life (I'm only a week or two behind), but I have not been making a lot of cards. I'm happy that I'm getting to do my One Little Word, and that is Document. I just really, really need to stop being lazy and post about the pics and my process on it.

Btw, if you haven't heard about Project Life, you can view more info about it here:

Anyway, back to business. Today's post is really about Christmas Card Challenges. This week (#13), it's all about Santa Claus!

I used this Meoples' No Peeking Santa image from All That Scraps.

Please visit the CCC blog for more DT inspiration!! Have a great week!

Scallops and Chinese New Year.

IMG_7757

Hi everyone!!

I have been a BAAAADDDD blogger! I went from three posts a week to just one! So sorry I've neglected you, Blogspot. But I have been busy cheating on you with my long time infatuation, Facebook, and my new love, Instagram!

I'm hoping to catch up soon with posting about Project Life too! I have been pretty good about it. I'm just one to one and a half weeks behind. I accidentally didn't see my order of pictures through so I had to re-order them again a little later than usual. I've bought the new Canon Selphy so I really need to start using that. It's just so convenient with your phone!

Anyway, it's time for Christmas Card Challenges (#11). The challenge is to incorporate scallops into your design. I've got several ones going on up there :).

The image is from All That Scraps' No Peeking Meoples. I usually outline the image with a gray-colored Copic to make it pop out more. But I kept seeing this dot/ stippling technique. So it turned out like this. I really like it. I think it brings the colors together.

For more on our current challenge and awesome inspiration, please visit the CCC blog.

Happy Chinese New Year, everyone!!!

Gingerbread and Football.

Corinne R Mercado rinnesbliss.blogspot.com

Good mornin' peeps!

I hope you aren't getting tired of my Christmas cards just yet! I love love LOVE the Holidays so that is what I focus on when I make winter-themed cards during the year. And, my team at CCC (Christmas Card Challenges) are always supportive and inspirational that most of the time it has been easy.

For CCC's challenge this week (#10), make a card with a gingerbread theme.

I colored up the Gingerbread man from ATS' Meoples set of No Peeking. He is just adorable! Wanted to play with lots of different patterns and graphics this week. I really like how the card turned out. I even went back to my hand-writing the sentiment.

IMG_7744 (2)

I really enjoyed looking at what everyone else came up with for the challenge! The other DTs and I have got different styles, but I love all of their creations. Check them out on the CCC blog.

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!

Oh, and happy Superbowl Sunday!! Go Niners!!! Woot woot!!!!

Red, White, and Brown.

IMG_7736

Hi everyone!

It's Sunday and you know what that means? It's time for another Christmas Card Challenges. Week # 9 is all about red, brown, and white!

Sorry I've been kinda MIA. I am quite busy with things around the house, work, the kids, the hubbs and scrapbooking! Yup! Scrapbooking! I'll show more of that during another post.

Anyway, I colored up this image from Some Odd Girl. Got to use some washi tape and scrounge through my scraps for these papers. Hope you get to visit the blog for more inspiration!

Silhoutte.

IMG_7729-1

Hello, and welcome to another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges! Week # 7 is to work with silhouettes!

So for the past 5-6 days, the flu (or a different but very similar strain) has been kicking my butt! I had gotten the flu shot because of my job, and also to protect my kiddies and myself, but I still got this virus. Bleh...I'm feeling a wee bit better but still not 100%.

Anyway, this challenge did the same to me. Kicked my bottom, too. It got me stumped for a while because I didn't own any stamps with just silhouettes, as I love to color. But I remember I had these beautiful cards bought from Kelly Purkey so I used one of them. I had a hard time letting go. If you're like me, you tend to hoard the papers/ embellies you love best too!! :)

Ok, folks, I think I'm going to lay down (wuss). Loving the CAS (clean and simple) style this week as I hardly ever do that.

3, 2, 1.....

IMG_7712-1

Good Sunday morning!

Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend! I am! It's my weekend off and so far, I've gotten to see Les Miserables, which I've been pining to see since I first saw the preview months ago! The kiddies had a nice playdate at at fun museum on Friday too. Aside from my DH being sick, we are having a good one so far.

It's Sunday so that means another Christmas Card Challenge here on my blog. If you've stopped by for the first time, I am part of the CCC blog Design Team and we make Holiday or winter-themed cards throughout the year! We all know what a busy time December could be. And it'll be here again before you know it! As for me, it's my third term but that doesn't mean I don't need inspiration now and then. Let's see what the other DT members have cooked up for CCC # 6 .... rip it, sand it, tear it! You can see more of their work when you click on the link above.

I've ripped one of the patterned papers (in the middle). Left the textured side up to symbolize the 'sand' part. It's a New Year's card, and I don't quite know if I've bent the rules. But I've added snowflakes to make it more winter-like. I also added gold glittered paint to the wooden snowflakes to make them look like fireworks as well! My family treat NY as if it goes hand in hand with Xmas so I've always thought of it as part of the winter holidays!

IMG_7720-1

The stamps are from All That Scraps, and they are called Meoples Celebrate. I just love these adorable images!

Have a wonderful day!
