JoYful Win!

IMG_2380

Good Monday morning, everyone!

FlickR was acting up last night so I apologize if my picture is miniscule. I couldn't upload and edit my pic correctly so I'll be adding the revised one later. (added and revised it).

Today, I'm using another cute Fairwee - it's Fairwee Josie from Sweet November by Amy Young.

Doesn't she look all blissful sitting on the lovely cluster of flowers without a care in the world? She has that look of satisfaction, I tell ya!

I am loving these foldies from Sassafras. The flowers have guides on where to fold to give them dimension. I really love cards with lots of textures!

IMG_2377

The rest of my supplies are from Bazzill (CS) and Neenah (CS). The patterned papers are from Fancy Pants Design. The letter stickers are from October Afternoon. And the pearl wrap is from Bo Bunny.

As you can tell, I haven't finished the tutorial on that inklinkz application I told you about :).

And btw, I am still missing my corner rounder punch so I manually cut these ...teehee!

This card is also for Flutter By Wednesday # 171.

In other news, my card won at the Karber Challenge blog for Challenge # 40. Sure, my card was picked randomly, but I am still over the moon!!

Have a joyful day!!

Hi FairWee Daphne!

*** If you're looking for Jo's Birthday Blog Hop and/ or to win MULTIPLE blog candies, please go HERE! ***

IMG_2281

Good morning, folks!

I felt like making a card with lots and lots of textures. I just got the Martha Stewart Fringe Scissors and wanted to create some grass and a scene.

Colored up Fairwee Daphne and added the American Crafts' PP (clouds) with the Doodlebug Designs Inc (grass). I, then, made a sun out of buttons and added some flowers.

This card is for two challenges:
1. Flutter By Wednesday # 170 - open challenge but use butterfly, fairy, or angel.
2. ATS Wednesday Challenges week 93 - this week, it's anything goes.

Sorry so short. I am super tired. The tater tot is on his way to full recovery but the newbie got immunizations too and has been fussy.

I usually pre-schedule my posts to go up at midnight or in the early hours of the day. And then I go back to link my projects. But today, you'll just get two posts...one early, and one at 11 pm... LOL! I'll be waking up to feed the baby but this way, I can skip the computer ;).

XO!

Twisted Sister Azalea

IMG_6768

I was watching Project Runway when I was coloring for this card. Twisted Sister Azalea ended up with a couture dress!!

Welcome to the fifth and final sneak peek day of Amy Young's newest additions to her Sweet November line.

When Amy approached me, she mentioned that these Twisted Sisters are really fashion-conscious. So I knew that I just had to go all out with the last twisted fairy. Azalea make look sweet with her big "puppy-dog" eyes, but she is really the most outgoing of the group! It's too bad I saw Amy's curly hair tutorial AFTER I colored Azalea. It would've been perfect for her hair!

With the light hair and fun 'fit, doesn't she look a bit like Madonna in the '80s?? Buwahhahahaha!

Anyway, since this is my last Sweet November Gal card, I wanted to go out with an even bigger BANG and added sparkles! I used collage pauge on her skirt. And some Viva pearl pen on her necklace and the skull's eyes.

IMG_6774

And I held out till the end to make a Halloween card! Just wanted to show the versatility of these new awesome ladies!

Thanks for visiting me during the Twisted Sisters' sneak peeks this week! Remember, they will be available at All That Scraps next Monday, September 6th. Thanks, Amy, for choosing me to be one of your Guest Sweet November Gals! I had TONS of fun!

Sometimes, a girl just wants to mix patterns....

Photobucket

Have you ever watched 9 by Design? It's about this young, hip couple who are interior designers living in NYC with 9 kids.

Now, I admit, I watch a lot of TV. But the quality of the TV shows I watch have improved. Granted, it's still a reality show but I'm learning so much about decorating. I think this type of design also applies to paper-crafting.

Bob & Courtney have a contemporary style and are never afraid to mix old & new & patterns that would not normally mix together. They somehow make it work.

That's the inspiration for my card today. Used the papers from past Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kits. Flowers are from Prima. The cute Darby & Penelope stamp is from ATS. It was a gift from the lovely Amy!

Such an adorable group of girls. I tried giving Darby curly hair, and as you can see I have some practicing to do. So glad that there's Color Me Copic, a new tutorial blog by some of my most fave bloggers and blenders! :)

It's been so hard finding a Copic Certification class around here!

Have an amazing weekend!

It's my Birthday and I'll Party if I Want To.....

****THERE'S STILL TIME TO WIN MY BIRTHDAY BLOG CANDY. GO HERE AND COMMENT. IF YOU CAN, PLS POST THE PICTURE ON YOUR BLOG. YOU HAVE UNTIL MIDNIGHT OF THE 25TH!*****

Photobucket

Good Thursday morning everyone! Such a great day... I'm listening to my new downloaded music from Glee's Madonna episode. The baby and I are rockin' right now :). He he!

Thanks for all of the birthday wishes!! Below are some of my favorite photos from my celebration(s). But first, let's talk about my card for today.

It features one of the Sweet November fairies at ATS created by the lovely Amy Young. Speaking of creating stamps, I added another to my bucket list. Someday, I would love to have my own line of stamps :). But first things first, gotta get on a Design team ;)..wish me luck!

Anyway, when I started seeing the Kioshi line of Basic Grey, I fell in love. I especially adored what Camille did with it! I mixed some kol laj strips and added some bling and Prima flower and voila! I'm not too happy with how her hair ended up. Kept messing up with the blending so it got darker and darker. But I do like the texture on her skirt!

So my birthday was yesterday and I've been having lots of fun the last few days.

Here's Matthew checking his google reader....buwahahahaha!

A present from my DH... don't you just loved the 'whimsical' wrapping paper (aka newspaper)? Aww, men!! Sweet though! I got a camcorder! I think the gift was also for him....but don't mind at all! :)

I have a new niece -- Alyssa! She was born the day before my birthday. What a lovely present!

Some goodies from Baskin Robbins:

Breakfast with my BFF, Jo, who's also Mattie's Ninang (Godmother). You might ask why I put MK's hair in a ponytail... there's a Filipino superstition that we can't cut the baby's hair till they turn one for good luck! I put it up because it's getting so long! He keeps getting mistaken for a girl though :(.

Mattie and his favorite cousin, Alexander.

This is what happens when I leave my hubby to dress the lil one.

My sis with her Godson.

Somy yummy food from my bday dinner. Such great sliders above!

This one served plantains with guacamole --- so good!

Ahi tuna -- the best I've tasted!

A group pic with my best girlfriends. Love them!

Enjoy your day!

Round 4 at TGF's Royal Battle .... & Coriander

Photobucket

Happy Sunday to everyone! Today's post will be quick.

My card today features Coriander from the Sweet November line at ATS. I think she is the most beautiful out of Amy's fairies.

Thought she has sort of a pensive expression, so I paired her up with some kol laj writing behind her. I also used up a scrap of PP, flower from Prima, and the stamped piece of clay & clear overlay are also from kol laj. Also added some Craft-T metallic rub-ons to her wings to make them sparkle!

We are on ROUND 4 at The Greeting Farm's Royal Battle. You can view everyone's work at the Gallery.

I think the entries are quite lovely, but I have to say that our team, International Ink's entry is the most creative and detailed. Here's Sunghee's STELLAR take on the challenge of making candy packaging:

I suggest you even take a closer look by going to Sunghee's blog post for today. She has a lot more pictures and descriptions. Let me tell you, this girl is THE BOMB ... especially when making altered projects.

I am so amazed by her talent, and I'm not just saying this because she is my friend and teammate. For those of you who are familiar with her work and follow her blog, you know what I'm talking about! :)

If you agree that Sunghee's creation is the best, please vote for us by leaving a comment here. We are having technical difficulties so the main picture is not showing :(. But if you click on the link below the picture, you'd get to view it on Sunghee's blog.

If you aren't a registered user at the Gallery, you can register here with just an email. Thank you sooo much!!!!

GOOOOOOOOOOO INTERNATIONAL INK!!!!!

TGIF

Thank Goodness it's Friday! And it's my weekend off! Woot woot!

Today's card is another quick and simple one featuring Buttercup Reedweed from the Sweet November line at All That Scraps. Her super wild hair is matched with the super unique flower I created using Basic Grey chipboard stickers.

I've used more of the March Key Ingredients kit by Taylored Expressions. I've also added a Dear Lizzy (American Crafts) ribbon.

So it's April and I got this card in the mail.

Super cute, huh? Love the candle and it's actually a necklace! it's from Anthropologie, one of my favorite stores. It's my birthday month and I'll be having some blog candy soon!

Thanks for visiting and for your lovely comments! I have a few special cards coming up shortly and I'm so excited to share them with you!

Have a great Easter weekend! It's Mattie's first and although he's a bit too young, I've got an Easter basket that I have to assemble. Wish I had Sunghee's creativity and magic fingers, but this one's from the store.

More Inspiration

Hello, everybody! Today's card features Club Anya & Friends' Sketch 6. Now that I am on a scrapbooking diet, I have to really choose which stamps to buy.

This Travel Anya stamp was bought for a purpose. My mom is having a retirement party in August, and the theme is traveling around the world. I'm trying to persuade my sister (who's in charge of invitations) to put her on the 'passport' invites that she's making. C'mon, Kristine, isn't she cute? :)

Speaking of parties, I've paid the deposit for Mattie's first birthday party. The next step now is deciding on a theme. I've got my mind pretty much set on a Vintage Peter Pan. Although I am also loving this. Too bad the TGF Circus set does not include an Ian Ringmaster.

I am so amazed at the internet. I've found so many helpful sites and links for planning a bday party! There are so many inspirations out there!

And speaking of inspirations...I am utterly in AWE of these:

1. I am so glad she is back and recovering! Her story has touched me and moved me to tears. First, they were of sadness and then now, they're of joy!

2. And oooooh, these always make me smile! Love the new badge, Amy!

3. I CANNOT wait until this movie comes out! I loved Tim Burton's Edward's Scissorhands! Would love to see this dark but artistic version of Alice In Wonderland!

source

Oh, and I'm so excited to play here! What a great idea!

4. And last but not least, I adore the necklace I bought here! Secondsister, you do amazing work!

And on the same note, I absolutely LAUGHED OUT LOUD and SMILED thoughtfully at her post.

Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Picture Perfect

Before Glee came along, my Wednesday night line-up consisted of watching America's Next Top Model. I loved watching the plain girls get transformed into glamourous beings! My hubby would always peek and say, "Why'd they pick her? She's not that pretty." I told him he was wrong and that although the contestant was not conventionally beautiful, she has that special look. I'd tell him to check back in 20 minutes and see the gorgeous photos and photos and look from that same person.

Sparkle Thistleweed reminds me of a fairy model. Created by Amy, she is confident, sassy, and has that special ooomph! That one-of-a-kind *spark*. I colored her with rich and dark tones. She is going out for the night and has on her glittery outfit :). I gave her dark wings to make her stand out even more among all the other fairies.

I used a lot of kol laj products (the PP, the fabric). I wanted the card to have a more of an artsy feel -- Here, Sparkle is a couture model ...he he he...and not the commercial type (for you ANTM fans, you know that Tyra Banks always says this!).

And although models are all about symmetry, this is not the case here. I purposely made sure the fabric pieces didn't match on either side of her. The stickers behind the button do not either. The fabric edges are left rugged and rough (ok, remember that I don't know how to sew, ok? :) LOL).

Afterall, the most beautiful of creatures is not just about the looks. You've got to have to have character, be unique, and hold others' interest. And as corny and cliche'-ish as it may sound, that is the lesson of my sentiment/ card here. :)

Other supplies-
CS- TE's Valentine Key Ingredients
Stickers- Daisy D's
Button- Inkspelled
White pen- Inkssentials
Scrapper's Floss- Karen Foster

Happy Monday!

Bunch O' Cards

I've got lots to show you today. But this will be a relatively short post as I am working 48 hours in 5 days....NOT fun at all!!! :)

Just some quick cards made out of my scraps. The first one with the Sarah Kay stamp was even a pre-made one (from last year), and I just added her and some ribbon.

The second card features ATS' Darby & Bumbles, which is designed by Amy. Aren't they cute?! Amy's just so talented!!

The third one was made by altering Birthday Anya's head with the body of New Mommy's. This card is for my sister-in-law's baby shower. Can't wait to meet my new niece in April!

Anyway, I've got to go :(. I hope to catch up on your blogs today. On a last note, I'm soooo in LOVE with Dear Lizzy....hope she gets to design a boy line!

Have a great weekend!

Lovely textures

Good morning, everybody!! Hope you are all having a wonderful Saturday so far! So, lately, I've been doing a lot of 'clean' and 'linear' cards. Wanted to do something a bit different so I got out a lot of my kol laj supplies.

Used Amy's Chanter Heartsong stamp. She is just the sweetest fairy! The painted paper towel and art flakes below the stamp are the kol laj items. Went a step further and wrote the sentiment with stickles. The transparent overlay is Hambly. Other miscellaneous items are Japanese masking tape, flowers, buttons, and Karen Foster's scrapper floss.

Lots and lots of textures galore!! :). Have a great day!

SpiderWoman

Good morning and thanks so much for visiting today! My card for this beautiful Tuesday is for the The Diedrich Dare # 19. It'a all about simple and fun layering.

For this challenge, I inked up Gossamer Cornwand which I've had for a while. I just haven't had the chance to play with her yet. I colored in 'black & white' with touches of purple and pink. I used stickles on her web dress. The CS is Kraft paper & the PP is from American Crafts. I love using this paper for my fairy stamps! The ribbon is cut-up fabric from a kol laj kit. Its rough edges remind me of a tarantula's hairy legs :). And the rub-on is from Hambly.

Happy Tuesday!

Be Mine

Hi everyone! My first Valentine's card of the year...and it's with Amy's Sweet November Chanter Heartsong. The CS, PP, chipboard and ribbon are from the Valentine TE Key Ingredients kit. I added some painted paper towels as paper and covering for the chip boards from a kol laj kit. There's also that little strip of fabric with sequins and stitching that I am IN LOVE with!! The sentiment is handwritten with a Micron pen. Miscellaneous items: Gina K CS, Copics, Inkssentials white pen.

Sorry this is so short! My baby and I have a stomach bug and I'm hoping his won't be that bad. Have a great Sunday!

Let's REJOICE!

Good Wednesday morning! I have pre-scheduled this post because I am working my 12-hr shift today.

Today's card is a Xmas one, and hopefully, they'll all be Christmas-y from now on since I still have a few left to make before the holiday.

This Holly Starshine stamp is by Amy Young, and she is just the perfect embellishment for this card. It's Christmas morning and all is quiet. Holly zooms by, in a sort of sassy & quick way, and spreads holiday cheer right over people's heads while they are sleeping! LOL! I love it when you can make out a story when looking at a card scene!

I used Bazzill for the CS. The DSP with houses is Basic Grey, and the green and red ones are from Me & My Big Ideas. The Holly DSP cut-out is a scrap from a blog candy that I won. The pearls are from Recollections. Other miscellaneous supplies are Copics, TGF sentiment, Colorbok chalk ink, and Japanese masking tape.

Have a great day, everyone! And i am so THRILLED and GRATEFUL that I was an honorable mention here! My first TOOT at Club Anya!! :) And wasn't that blog hop so much fun?!!! I want to do it again! LOL!
