Good morning everyone!!

You're in for a real treat today. We've got a battle brewing between Team Yumi & Team Fumi and you're invited to a front row seat of the feud. No we're not really fighting, we're just having a bit of fun between teammates and what better way than to show off with a crafty style blog hop? We're going to give the teams a theme to create with and you will be the judges. Now it wouldn't be a blog hop without prizes yes? Well you're absolutely right! As you hop along make sure you leave comments on each blog post because each team member is giving away something on their blog. Yep your eyes do not deceive you, so there are lots of chances to win.




There will be 4 types of winners:

1. Overall Design Team winners
2. Individual DT winner
3. Overall Blog hop winner will receive a stamp of our choice, plus similar items each DT member shares in their picture on their projects (it could be you)

P.S. Did ya see the oh-so-cute patterned paper I used here? They're from Shanna Noel's new line at Studio Calico called Print Shop. Love it!!! These two were perfect for my project featuring Y&FH's Yumicorn (teehee, that name!!). But it also comes with these bold, graphic papers! So versatile!

And did ya notice the l'il mushrooms? I got those from Paper Tales in San Diego! I'm a sucker for cute ephemera that go so well with what I have in mind for my creations!

The rest of my embellies came from the lovely Leanne Poe, who sent me some happy mail the other week. Thanks a bunch, chica!!

Runway-Inspired and Giveaway Winner!

I was super duper excited when I saw this challenge blog based on fashion on the runway! Afterall, I love watching Project Runway and am just enamored with trends.

So for Runway Inspired Challenge # 18, the inspiration is this beauty by Phillip Lim (photo from Style.com):



My take was this:



I went with the colors of white, black, teal, orange, and green. I also like how this Some Odd Girl image is somewhat posed.

Funny how I try to teach my 3-yr-old tot to stay within the lines when coloring, when I can't even do it myself, hehe! :)

And the winner of my CatShy giveaway will be announced in about five seconds.



But first, I wanted to talk about how I picked. I wrote all the names and their number of entries. I cut them into strips and had MK pick one...



And he picked Arabella!!! The pic of the strips was accidentally erased though...too bad because it was super cute with him picking it!!

Hi peeps! How are y'all?

For my card today, I did bridal shower creation for a colleague. Her wedding colors are gray and yellow (one of my current fave combos by the way). Pardon my coloring. I colored her late at night, under poor light, and need to refill my E00 and E000.



On the bottom right, I used another one of Cathy's felt flowers. They are hand-sewn and designed specifically for paper crafters. They are really very beautiful and intricately-made. Don't forget that I'm hosting a give-away of her lovely goodies here.

I was so excited to be a part of these new stamps that I made not one, not two, but three cards!

Festive Rin:



I was invited to my first and only (Eastern) Indian party last year, and I was so severely underdressed! So I vowed that I will be getting a sari if I'm ever invited to one again. I love how bright and colorful saris are. How they are both classy and sexy at the same time! Rin looks awfully lovely in this outfit! I wanted the colors to be lively so I chose a lot of pinks and oranges.

Birthday Cake Emily:



So I don't know about your neck of the woods, but it seems like the trend around my side of the country is ombre-colored hair. Y' know, darker on top and it lightens on the way down. I would love to try it out but my hair is already prone to split ends so I don't know if it can tolerate getting blonde (aka bleached) ends. So I thought I'd try it on Emily here. :) I actually like how it came out! I went with a fresh color palette here of pinks and greens.

Your Highness Lucy:



For Miss Vivacious Lucy here, I wanted a card that would grab your attention. I mean, doesn't she look like she'd be the center of attention at any party? I wanted a 'pop-py' DP but also one that was serene as Miss Thang is relaxing here, LOL! I went with a bold color combo of turquoise and purple. And I just love LOVE the sentiment here! It's my favorite!

And if you noticed, I've got felt flowers galore on these cards! They are so beautiful and very intricate. They are such stunning embellishments to any crafting project.

For those of you who don't know about Catshy Crafts, it is an Etsy Shoppe that is run/ designed/ and made by Cathy Pascual.

I met Cathy about 8 years ago in the now retired scrapbooking forum/ gallery of SIS TV (anybody remember this?). I've always admired Cathy's creativity, her great design aesthetic, and her talent for layering digital embellishments! I've personally felt a connection to Cathy because of her children and her awesome eye for photography and mad party-decorating skills! You could read more about Cathy P. in her About Me section of her beautiful blog.

If you've been visiting my place of crafting bliss for a while, you may have seen a lot of Cathy's work. She specializes in felt, and I really love her flowers! She even takes the time to package her items beautifully!

Aren't they amazing? I love their textures & dimensions! They add so much to my cards! And they could be used for scrapbook lay-outs, altered projects, anything really!
