Reflections and Puddles.

Hello, hello, hello!

It's Friday and it's Recipe Challenge time at PaperWorks Company. This week, it's "Rain drops keep falling on my head" -- have puddles/ rain and something reflective.

Man, this stumped me for a while. The easiest solution would've been to use this stamp but I like to torture, errr, challenge myself sometimes. Because I'm such a glutton for punishment, I didn't want to use a stamp I've already used a lot.

I colored up Abigail C - Spring Blooms and altered her a little. I added water drops from the watering can and colored in a small puddle underneath the plants. There's that 'puddle/ rain' part of the challenge.

For the 'reflection,' I thought about paper piercing the watering can to make it look metal and reflective. I stickled it instead because I found these mirror embellishments from a company called Home Deco. It kinda looks like a flower, a water splatter, and a star combined.

The other part that was hard for me was finding a sentiment/ quote that was appropriate for the card. I don't have a lot of sentiment stamps so I like to hand-write sometimes. I found this quote and thought it was quite fitting.

PWCO recipe challenge # 12

Today at PaperWorks Company, it's recipe challenge time!

For the 12th challenge, use this photo as an inspiration:



Here's my take. (I could've sworn there were more orange tones in the pic :)).



I created the scene very much like the photograph. I used Carlos the Crab, from the Aqua Amigos. I incorporated most of the colors of blue, off-white, and pinkish-purple. The pearls symbolize bubbles. I even attempted to make my own seaweed, he he!

The patterned papers are all from Creative Imaginations. The cardstock is from Bazzill and the stamping cs is from Neenah. The decorative cords are from Yasumoto. I used the Tim Holtz mini-stapler and Copics. The pearls are from Martha Stewart.

Pucker Up!

Happy Friday, everyone!

Over at PaperWorks Company, our recipe challenge for today is lemons, limes, and coconuts!! Doesn't that theme make you think of some yummy margaritas? LOL!!

Since I don't have PWCO stamps that would coincide with a nice, cold fruity concoction, I thought I'd just make the card using the colors and these fun stickers. Although, ya gotta pretend that round fruit is really brown and not orange-ish :).

As you can see here, Charlotte and Jacob from the Love Freckle Stamps are on a date. Which brings me to this song:

PWCO Recipe Challenge

I hope you are all doing great this fine Friday morning! Today at PWCO, we've got a recipe challenge that features this photo:

For my card, I took the colors of the picture and came up with this:



I also liked how the borders had a linear design to them (just like the picture).

Baby, Bow, Button Challenge

Good Friday mornin' to ya!

Today at PaperWorks Company, we are hosting a Recipe Challenge. Incorporate the theme(s) of baby, bow, and buttons while using any stamp sold at PWCO. Participate in two challenges by the end of the month, and you could win two stamps OR the monthly card kit!

For my project, I turned two of the Aqua Amigos into 'stuffed animals' for the little ones. Growing up, my mom used to make us our own customized stuffed animals and this challenge just gives me that same warm feeling from my childhood.

I displayed my stuffed animals on the TE Apothecary Shelf stamp. I wanted to create somewhat of a scene in a baby's room. I was going to leave the wall (aka the front of the card) blank but I came across this old vellum with quilted textures and subtle baby-themed designs.

And I don't know about you, but I hate adhering vellum to cardstock. No matter what some glue claims, it NEVER dries clear. So I finally used my Sew Easy supplies to stitch them together. And unlike my mother, who is a master at sewing, I do not know how to use a sewing machine (kinda embarrassing since I had taken Home Ec as an elective when I studied in the Philippines .... ok, ok...I was like 8 years old but still...). I was really excited about this product!

Since I used such a bold-colored thread, I used the blue ribbon to soften it up a bit. I like how fluffy and gigantic it looks :). I also got to finally use my Epiphany Crafts Button Maker to make my own buttons. Alas, the vellum that I used for the buttons is so light, they just look like clear ones here. But maybe that's for the best because I'm liking the clean and simple (as CAS as I could get) vibe here.

O challenge at PWCO!

It's Friday folks! And you know what that means (besides TGIF!)??

It's Recipe Challenge over at PaperWorks Co.! It's the end of June/ beginning of July so that means it's my last recipe challenge for a while. Come July, I'll be switching it up to a different kind of challenge on a different day so stay tuned!

So for this recipe challenge, it's all about the letter O. Orange, octagon, 'other' embellishments! By the way, if you didn't notice all the other challenges spelled out P W C O! The first two were combined: Pic inspired and Water-themed. The third one was about Critters, Cuties, Colors!

For my O challenge at PaperWorks Company, I chose Ollie the octopus (since we're going for the O's and all :)). I made an octagon-shaped card, and the main colors were orange -- I bet you haven't seen orange octopus before, huh? LOL! For the embellishments, I chose flowers with 8 sides to keep with the octagon theme. I saved up the cut corners from the papers and made waves. As you can see, my card's all about playing with shapes -- octagons, swirls, spikes, etc.

This card is definitely unique and I'm quite happy with it! In fact, I think that with the orange and bright colors, I can't help but smile! This is going to one of my nephews whose birthday is coming up.

Good Friday morning, everybody!

I hope you are all looking forward to the weekend! This week actually marked my last day of work before maternity leave. Wish I could say "I'M FREEEEEEEEEE!" but there's still so much to do and prepare for before baby2 comes!!

Anyway, it's Friday so that means it's Recipe Challenge Day over at the PWCO blog. Today's recipe is Critter, Cute, and any color you want.

I knew I wanted to use one of PWCO's Aqua Amigos. Chose Tommy the Turtle for this one as I'm planning on giving it to a friend who loves Hawaii and is having her second baby (a boy!). Tommy is definitely cute, and I think the items used are perfect for a boy card! The color combo I did for this is green, blue, and orange.
