Wedding Layers.

IMG_9354

Hiya everyone!!

Here's a quick post on a card I made for a friend's wedding. I think I've made about 5-6 wedding cards in just the last few months...so many people are getting married this year!!

I'm also entering this card for The Greeting Farm's Garden Variety Tuesday's challenge - Layers. It may not seem like it but this card has four layers - the white cardstock, the pink cardstock, the bluish patterned paper with the saying, the clear overlay at the bottom, and the image of I Do.

How about you? Is it wedding season where you are from?

Ta-ta! Have a fab Labor Day weekend!

Penguins & Pups!

Hello, hello, helllooooooooooooo, Blog World!!

It's Digi Release Day at Some Odd Girl! Seriously, how cool is it that pretty much on every Tuesday, there is a new digital stamp at SOG? Awesome, I tell ya!!

And today, I've got two of them to show you! Introducing Momma & Baby Penguin:

IMG_9345

Aren't they sweet? I accidentally printed them too big than I intended, but their size kind of balanced out the busy background. My good friend, Sheena, had given me a gift a few months back - supplies to make that rosette. I love it! It resembles a snow ball! Thank you, Sheena!!

IMG_9346

This image would be perfect not only for Holidays, but also for Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc.! Adorable, right?

And the second image is Holiday Pup:

IMG_9349

Lots of pattern-mixing on this one. But if you look closely, it's really a two to three-layered card :). My favorite embellishment though are the Martha Stewart star glitter confetti. Each row is pretty much a different color. Very subtle, but they really add to the card.

Now, please hop on over to the rest of the participating DT and SOG blog for more inspiration!! I don't know about you, but I truly love seeing everyone's take on the same image(s).

Roses.

Happy Monday, everyone!

Most of you are probably dreading today. The start of the week, the end of the weekend. But since I worked all weekend long, I am thrilled that today is Manic Monday!! Hee hee!

Oh, yeah. Lots of kiddies will probably starting school. My kids are too young still but I am already dreading the thought of them starting Kinder and Elementary school and beyond. Yikes! So for those of you who have littles who are getting dropped off and getting their 1st day of school pics taken: kudos for a wonderful summer, hugs for the growing up too fast, and yay for more personal time! :)

Anyway, I've got a cute card for you today from Time for Tea Designs. We all have our different craft styles. And while I claim to be versatile, I never thought I could pull off the look of the 3D flowers effect. You know those flowers from Prima? Well, these are actually American Crafts, but you get the picture.

IMG_9374

Party Time is so very pretty, and I love her hair and tutu-like dress. I wanted to make this card very feminine, and I've been dying to use these beautiful roses.

From what I could remember, the washi tape is bought from Finding Nana and the blue and house patterned papers are from Amy Tangerine. I'm sorry..I am really bad at keeping track of my supplies! :)

See you tomorrow!

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Making Flairs at Some Odd Girl.

Hey, how's it going?

Today, I am featured at the Some Odd Girl blog, and I wrote up the Tutorial Post on Making Flairs.  If you don't scrapbook or are not quite familiar with flairs, here is an example from Skipping 5:

IMG_9296

They make great embellishments for crafty projects, not only scrapbook lay-outs, but cards and altered items as well.  They kind of remind me of bottle caps in a way.  They are round, thick, and are very cute.

You can personalize and make your own using a flair maker.  But if you don't have hundreds of dollars to spend, you can also try these cheaper, similar alternatives.  What's good is you probably have these items in your craft room already.

You will need some round, epoxy stickers.  Or Glossy Accent glue.  Or the Epiphany button maker (I have Round 20 shown here) and its coordinating buttons.

IMG_9278

Gather up some Some Odd Girl images. I've used the clear critter stamps from Hey Kaylee and Gwen in Bloom and the swirls from Artist Mae.  I also shrunk a digital stamp - Tropical Mae, and will be using her top half.  You can leave the image uncolored, color them, stamp them on patterned paper, color the background, etc.  So many different options!

IMG_9279

The easiest ones are the stickers, of course.  Just line up and cut away!

IMG_9288

For the glossy accent, squeeze the glue on the middle and do not stop to prevent air bubbles.  Also, less is more!

IMG_9290

Here's what it looks like:

IMG_9292

I ended up going over the part I wanted for Tropical Mae below, so i let it dry (8 hours overnight), and traced a circle on the back and proceeded to cut it out.  I ended up cutting into the glue part as well.

IMG_9293

Follow the instructions on the Epiphany button maker, which includes lining up image through that hole in the middle.

IMG_9294

I decided to make a scrapbook lay-out that would house my flairs.  I am very much into ink splatter right now.

IMG_9295

And this is the finished product:

IMG_9302

Added some star glitter and washi tape with Super Tobie.  And of course, pics of the little tater tots in their SuperHero raincoats!

IMG_9306

Aren't the flairs a nice addition to all the backyard fun?  I love how they're different sizes as well!

IMG_9307

Hope you enjoyed it!  SOG is having a whole week of tutorials so make sure you stop by everyday!

Wedding Couple.

IMG_9252

Hiya everyone!!

Today, I've got a lovely image to show you from Time for Tea Designs. Wedding Couple is so sweet, don't you think?

I've created this card for a colleague and her hubby to be. I wasn't quite sure what her colors were, but doves are pretty universal, right? :)

Make sure you all visit Jo Davies' blog (owner and artist of T4TD) - she's got some wonderful and exciting news! I'm so thrilled I saw it all blossom from the beginning. Well-deserved, Jo!!

Have a fantabulous day, everybody!!

Christmas Tree Mae

Good Tuesday morning, everyone!!

I'm here to show ya a fabulous new digi release over at Some Odd Girl. There are actually two, but I am signed up for Miss Christmas Tree Mae. You can view the cute Polar Cub-sicle on the blog!

IMG_9337

Now I don't know about you, but I love watching Project Runway, and Christmas Tree Mae's dress reminds me of that show. Isn't it very couture-like? I start becoming on the look-out for the perfect Holiday outfit(s) come September so she is right on time! LOL!

I am not quite pleased with my coloring of her, especially the lighting effect. But isn't she a beaut? I decided to tone down the colors, but chose really graphic items for the card elements.

Y&FH's Challenge 22.

Hello, peeps in blogland! Happy Sunday to ya!

The weekend has been super packed and fun for us. I hope it's been the same for ya!

Today, I, along with the rest of Team Yumi, am showing you the Yumi and Fumi Handmade Challenge # 22: an inspiration pic!

I could've easily chosen a Hawaiian or tropical flowers theme, but since I've been doing a lot of Summer cards, I thought I'd do something different. I found these cute stickers at Michael's. And decided to go pretty simple.

IMG_9333

The papers were matched perfectly, and I just love the combination of colors! This card was made for a friend's son and perfect for a boy who's going into his childhood years! I used Aj fromt he Back to School Series.

IMG_9335

Hope you get to visit the rest of Team Yumi! You've got two weeks to play! For more info, head on over to the Y&FH blog!

Cinderella Anya

IMG_9256

Hi!

It's been so long since I made a card out of The Greeting Farm's images. But my friend had a request for a Cinderella card for her toddler, and I thought Princess no. 3 would be a perfect one!

I also created her for this week's Farm Fresh Friday's Anything Goes. Hope my little niece loves this!

We've got a demolition party (more on this later), a birthday party, and a Baptism to go to this weekend. How about you?

Have a wonderful night!

Baby Ellie.

securedownload

Hi all!

I've been wanting to use this sweet image again for a friend who's having her second baby. Pardon me while I try to remember where this image is from. I may be adding it later once I find out.

But isn't it so adorable? It's perfect for an upcoming baby. It kinda reminds me of Dumbo! :)

I had a lot of fun coloring them up and trying to give them texture. I did this tag in about half an hour and that included the coloring. It would've turned out more dimensional if I had more time. But no excuses here, lol!

The above pic was after I flicked on some Mr. Huey's. It needed something, don't ya think?

Happy soon to be Hump Day!

Last Days of Summer.

IMG_9247

Good morning, peeps!

I skipped last Saturday, but today, I have a card to show you from Time for Tea Designs. The stamp is Girl with Giant Ice Cream, and she is perfect for those last few weeks of Summer weather.

Isn't she cute? With her teeny bikini top and her humongous treat! For the papers, I used a bunch of scraps...that's always a good thing, right?! :)

IMG_9249

Sorry so short! It's my weekend to work. Have a wonderful weekend!

Thursday, August 8, 2013

Well, I'm going to the beach where I belong......

Since I'm on a blogging roll this week, I thought I'd show you a card I made with my new stamp from Pee Wee Designs.

I first discovered this line through Amy Young's blog and I just love how cuuuuute they are!

It was my friend's birthday the other day so I decided to make him a quick card. He appreciates cutesy things so I thought this Summer-themed stamp would be perfect - Just Chillin'.

IMG_9238

But my friend is a man so I colored in some pecs! Haha! I may have to try coloring in a 6-pack next time! He's out and about in Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, catching some rays and enjoying the carnival and beach in the last few weeks of Summer.

The only thing I am quite bummed about is this is the only boy stamp in that company. Oh, but you should see the girls.. they are adorbs!!!

IMG_9244

See you soon!

Adorable Owl-Days.

Hi blog friends!

It's time for the last peek at August's clear stamp sets over at Some Odd Girl!

These Owl-Days' friends just exude cuteness, so I decided to do an adorable critter trend, and went ten times fold for some whimsical overload!!! You know what they say, right? Go BIG, or go home! And go HUMONGOUS, I did!

IMG_9228

To make them stand out, I decided to color the two Owls my current fave shades right now -- mint and hot pink. I adore that patterned paper full of triangles but also wanted to make a scene. So I took the critters and plants and sentiment from Gwen in Bloom and Hey Kaylee and made a little background scene. I left them uncolored to let the Owls shine! And that they did! The pink one may actually be a bit blinding, haha!

IMG_9230

Added some bling, some punches, and washi tape, and voila!!!

Thanks so much for visiting!

Make sure you stop by Rachel's, Tabbatha's, Vera's, Mary Pat's, Judy's, and Anna Sigga'sfor more inspo! And remember, you can win some new releases if you comment on the SOG blog posts about these clear stamp goodness!

Hugs and kisses,

SOG's Holideer and Santa's List Tia.

Oh, how I've missed making my Christmas cards throughout the year!! :) :) :)

So, you can just bet how glad I was when I saw some of the clear releases for August over at Some Odd Girl! There are two to be showcased today, and I'll be showing you one of them here. Introducing HoliDeer:

IMG_9234

Having lived in the Bay Area, which is a part of California that never sees snow, I decided to make a White Winter scene. Used lots of sparkly tape (American Crafts) for that Holiday effect!
