Third Baby Card.

IMG_4938

Hello peeps!

A quick card today for the third triplet on this post.

Used up a bunch of my stash of vintage basic grey (2007, LOL!). The buttons are from American Crafts.

Sorry this is super short again. And that I haven't been commenting on your blogs. Have been super busy with family visiting from all over the country. Things should be slowing down after Easter. And I have a vacation coming up at the end of the month that I'm very excited about and ready for! :)

Toodles!

Happy National Physician's Day!

It's National Doctor's Day, and for my colleagues at work, I was in charge of putting together a little pot-luck for them. In addition, I made them goodie bags full of healthy snacks and hand-sanitizers. I topped them off with these decorated tags!

The tags were from Michael's, the DPs were from Basic Grey, and the stickers were from Jolee's.

Hope they like them! :)

Happy Friday! It's my weekend off!

Pink, Purple, Green and White.

Happy Sunday!

It's 'TGIF' for me so whoooopppeeeeee!!! :)

For Christmas Card Challenges Week 17, the Design Team have a color combo for ya to play with:

Very unconventional Christmas colors, don't you think? I had a hard time! But eventually, I came up with this:

IMG_4926

What??!, you ask! There are no Design Papers at all! LOL!

My favorite part, of course, is the Magnolia stamp. Just please ignore how she's dressed when she's outside in the snow, he he! What can I say, I'm a true Californian at heart?

Hope you get to play along! Remember that the only true rule is to have a new Holiday or winter-themed card! See the CCC blog for more details and inspiration please!

Triplets.

Hola folks!

I don't know about you, but I am in major need of a vacay!

Things are a bit hectic here at the Mercado house - it's getting warmer and nicer outside so we are spending some time playing in the back yard.

I'm working on a new goal at work, and it's going to take up a lot of my time.

I've been coloring up some images, but have a harder time making the cards. I've been finding lots of inspiration on your blogs, but have been procrastinating on the things I really need to finish.

For example, a good friend of mine had triplets a year ago. I couldn't go their birthday(s), but had gotten them gifts. The birthday and party have gone and passed but I still haven't given their presents...only because I hadn't made their cards. *sighs*

I had a bit of time today so I thought I could rush by making three similar cards. I used Baby Jackson from Lori Designs, and even left the baby uncolored. Used CardPatterns Sketch # 157 -- I liked how it had lots of layers. Found some 'vintage' Basic Grey DP from 2007 and was glad to use up some stash. Not quite happy with the finaly results but what can you do? :)

And if you're asking why there's only two instead of three, well, the kiddies woke up before I could make the third one. And before I knew it, it was dark and time for dinner. *sighs* (again).

The third triplet is a boy so I'll be posting about his card soon (i hope!). Have a great weekend! It's my weekend to work (boo!). :)

True Blue, baby, I Love You!

Hi everyone,

I had time today to make a card so I decided to join in on the fun over at the Greeting Farm for their second March Madness Challenge. Make a monochromatic card:

IMG_4924

I used WS Elena, and colored her hair really funkily. I'm having fun doing duo colored hair, can't ya tell, LOL! I used Authentique and Teresa Collins for the DPs. The camera and sentiment stamps are from American Crafts. The brad is from Echo Park. I also used the Deconstructed Sketch # 43.

Have a wonderful rest of the day! Hoping to craft again mid-week!

CCC # 16.

Hello, hello, hello!

Did you all have a Happy St. Patty's??

I celebrated my mom-in-law's birthday with our family -- we stayed over their place, went to church, went out for dinner, had dessert at home, watched a movie, and even got to color some images. All in all, a great Saturday! What were you guys up to?

It's Sunday and that means it's time for the Christmas Card Challenges. For Week #16, let's make some shaped cards:

Supplies are from Bo Bunny (background), Echo Park (stickers), The Greeting Farm (Ian of Xmas Cuties).

Please head on over to the CCC blog. to see more inspiration from the other DTs. Remember that the only rule you have to follow is to make a new card.

See you soon!

My Condolonces.

Good morning, everyone.

I've got a couple of CAS (clean and simple) cards to show you today. I usually like to post one card per post but these are sympathy cards and I did not want to write multiple posts about sad subjects. :( I have to warn you that the rest of this post is pretty solemn.

It's so very sad that a couple of my friends lost their baby just a half hour after he was born. My friends are very religious so I incorporated the cross. They've also said that "their baby is an angel in Heaven now" -- the main image is actually a Holiday stamp, but I thought it would be fitting.

IMG_4916

My heart aches for them. The circumstance was foretold but it was still devastating just the same.

The next card features one of my favorite flowers - the ranunculus. I love all the different, intricate layers. I just fussy-cut them and popped them out on top of the design paper.

IMG_4921

All stamps used are from Stampendous. The blue dps are from Authentique and the kraft paper is from Bazzill.

I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday. Hug your loved ones! It's my weekend off and we've got enough plans to fill it but not too full... I think I'll have some time to relax and color some images!

I promise to be back to my happy and vibrant cards by tomorrow. Thanks so much for coming by!

Beauty Has No Boundaries.

Hey everyone!

So the reason I finally had to put myself on a stamping / scrapbooking diet was because I kinda went overboard with ordering digital stamps. Mainly from Tiddly Inks... I fell in love with so many of the characters!

I, of course, had to get some Wryns. I mean, can ya blame me? Not only is she super cute and sweet, but she's got my nickname!!! And I also love how hers is spelled!

But I also ADORE the darker stamps. Tiddly Inks have got the best gothic and steampunk characters! I am beginning to broaden my horizons here. I luuuuuurrrrve the mysterious, almost sad and whimsical feel to them! More on SteamPunk later but first, gotta showcase this beauty:

IMG_4904

I wanted to play along with the TI Challenge so I got my Copic-colored Poppy and paired her with some Authentique DP (flowers and text) and Teresa Collins DP (striped). The brads are also from Teresa Collins, and the felt flower is from Catshy Crafts. The ribbon, charm, and wash tape are from my good bloggie friend, Tanya. She had sent me a wonderful little kit of embellies -- so very sweet! Thanks, T! The sentiment is also from TI's Steampunk Sentiment Mega Pack.

Challenges for this card:
1. The Deconstructed Sketch 42.
2. Tiddly Ink's Fabric Fun Challenge - I thought I had one more day to post for this but unfortunately, I miscalculated and didn't blog on time.

Have a fantabulous day! We've got rain in the forecast, so be safe Bay Area!

For this week's Christmas Card Challenges (week 15), we have an inspiration photo for ya.

Kimono Kaylee.

IMG_4902

Hi folks!

Just another quick post as I had some time to color and make a card today...Yiiippppppeeee!!!!

I love this Japanese-inspired line from My Little ShoeBox. It's perfect for my Japanese stamps from The Greeting Farm, Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps, and Some Odd Girl.

Haven't had the chance to color her up until today, but isn't Kimono Kaylee just stunning? Aside from the Kraft and Cardstock (which are from Bazzill) and the banner images (which are from TGF's Bantastic), all supplies are from My Little Shoebox.

I'm also entering this card for SOG's current Sketch Challenge.

I'm working this weekend, but my sissies just came over for dinner and maybe a movie. Yay for girl time!

Have a wonderful weekend!

I HEART Saturated Canary.

IMG_4896
Hi all!

After seeing this Saturated Canary beauty on Shirl's and Eva's blogs, I fell in love with her and had to have her too! Luckily, I was able to get her for free by going to Krista's post.

Krista sells her digi stamps through her Etsy store. (Etsy is down right now so I can't provide you with the exact link, but you can go through the challenge blog). I admire her characters' eyes, their wild, strand-y hair, and sometimes-awkward poses. I also adore their detailed clothes. In this case, her ruffles and many layers! It took me many days to color her (please pardon the shoes/socks area), but I really love how she turned out.

I am entering this card for Saturated Canary's Challenge # 12 - Doilies. I went through my supplies, looking for the one doily I thought I had but couldn't find it. I just made my own by punching out some favor bags. Hope that's ok :).

The rest of the supplies came from Dear Lizzy's new Neopolitan line, my current fave. I think the soft, spring colors balance the image's dark, striking hair and almost-sad expression. Oh, and the lace ribbon is from Hero Arts.

Have a wonderful day!

14th week on CCC.

Good morning, peeps!

It's time for another Christmas Card Challenge! # 14 is to include some embossing!

Now I've officially put myself on a stamping diet, so my dreams of a die-cutting/ embossing machine have been put on hold. I do, however, own some design paper with embossed elements. Although you can't tell from the picture, the sentiment is raised and embossed and so are the glittered stripes behind it.

Here's more of a close-up:

IMG_4786

I've been using lots of scraps. My cutes-y card is made from two of my faves! The Greeting Farm and Love, Elsie (KI memories).

Anyway, head on over to the CCC blog for more info and inspiration! Hope you have a fabulous day~

You Are RAD!

IMG_4711

Hi everyone!

I decided it's time for a teen-inspired card when it came time to coloring up TGF's Madden. She is probably my favorite Creeper, and I just love, LOVE that hair!

Wanted to match her fun and funky clothes with a similar background. Used a bunch of scraps from Bam-Pop! Y'all remember them? I've recently been using Dance Central 2 as my main exercise routine, and this card reminds me of a video game.

Sorry so short! I'm actually on my lunch break right now, and need to get going! Have a wonderful Thursday, and I'll see you back here soon!

Smooches,
