Asian girls

It's Monday, and I hope you're having a good morning so far!

I've chosen Manga girl Coffee Time from Sugar Nellie for my card today. I was experimenting with my colorless blender copic for her hair so that is why it looks a bit off :). The PP are scraps from previous Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kits. The flowers, brads, and mesh are from Gauche Alchemy.

And because Manga is Asian, here's a picture of some lovely Asian ladies at one of my BFF's bridal shower :).



She's the one with the orange lei. And there's me in the green shirt. I was wearing false eyelashes (for the bachelorette portion of the evening) and they made it difficult for me to open my eyes all the way, ha ha!

BTW, the favors were a hit! :)

For today's card, I used Manga girl #2 from Sugar Nellie.

I used some Love Elsie PP (notes), kol laj PP (painted on), Dear Lizzy felt sticker and brad, and some twine. I do not remember what brand the PP with squares is. And of course, I colored with Copics.

I'm at work today and tomorrow so I hope to see you all on Friday!

It's Manic Monday again, folks! Hope you're enjoying it anyway.

It's been gorgeous the last couple of days here in Northern Cali. Wanted to make a matching spring card for today's post!

Featuring Fairy Manga from the Sugar Nellie line. Thought she was an angel though because of those wings!

CS is from American Crafts, PP from Basic Grey and kol laj, brads from Dear Lizzy.

I have been doing quick, simple cards lately. Hope you all don't mind. I've got lots of things going on. But I don't feel right when I don't make cards at least 3 times a week! He he!

I even have an entry for Rockin' Rebel 2 at CA&F. It's very simple and quick, and an exact copy of one of the cards I've already made.

Going into it with just having fun in mind and some friendly competition though. Learned my lesson with TGF's Royal Battle. I think I got really into it and was really hyped on the thought of a possible win and then, CRASH! But hey, that's part of life, isn't it?

Thank you for all of you who voted and supported the game (especially our team!)! I told myself not to play any challenges for a while because despite sounding like a sore loser, well, I was really bummed to be honest with you (hey, that's what a blog is for, right? I'm supposed to talk about feelings and not just supplies here).

But I'm not gonna let that stop me any longer because I really REALLY enjoyed the game! And meeting my new friends- Tanya, Sheena, & Stephanie and getting to know Sunghee better - was really priceless. (heee hee, my nickname in high school was Corny Corinne :), i wonder why).

A friend on facebook wrote a quote "When you expect nothing, you always receive a lot" as her status. I'm going to do that with this challenge. Seeing people's takes on their Anyas/WS/Ians as their favorite stars had me ROLLING ON THE FLOOR! I can't wait to finish my entry & join in on the FUN!

But I don't completely agree with that quote though. (*WARNING* Serious tone ahead...). The rest of it goes, "No matter how little you receive, if you expected even less, you will be happy."

It wouldn't be right going through life, expecting nothing from everybody. Or even thinking positively for that matter.

Cheerful Manga

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope you all had a Happy National Scrapbooking Day yesterday!

So i finally broke down and bought some Sugar Nellie stamps. Enabler BFF has shown me those cute Manga stamps so I just had to get some!

This card features Manga Kids stamp. I think this would also be perfect for a Mother's Day card. Especially since the l'il one is a boy ;).

Now I was more into Anime than Manga but I love Japanese animation all the same. What's the difference you ask? Well, anime is cartoons and Manga is more for comic books.

The style of card I chose to make today is whimsical. Don't you think this image fits the bill? The Manga kids are sooo cute! The CS, swirled PP, and brads are from American Crafts. The green paper is from Basic Grey, and the banner sticker is from Sassafras. The rhinestones are from Kaisercrafts.

I hope you all have a great day. It's my last day of vacay (*sigh*), & I've got lots to do!

P.S. I wanted to ask:

When I colored the girl's hair above, my Copic Sketch E55 seems to be defective. The color doesn't apply well, and when I try to blend with other colors, they don't seem to mix. And even when the image is dry, it feels sticky. There still seems to be some ink left, but does this mean it needs a refill?

The ending result seems to show her hair having 'highlights' & that she didn't really fix her hair. Rather, she put it in pigtails before combing it all the way? Thought that was ok since sometimes that's how I do my hair, ha ha!
