Let Them Eat Cake!!!

IMG_9560

Hello all!!

I really love this Mae Antoinette (aka Marie Antoinette) image from Some Odd Girl. If you don't know who M.A. is, she was the Queen of France and led a very rich and indulgent life. So I made a really over-the-top and delicious card!!!

IMG_9567

And if you'll excuse me, I'll be eating my card now! Buwahahahahaha!!!!

Embellies are from Jolee's Boutique, Martha's Stewart, and random Kawaii stickers I own! Isn't that background paper perfect too? Her story had a dark side afterall!!

Aurevoir!

A Week in Rinne's Life - Day 7

Hi everybody! It's officially the last day of my A Week In My Life. Although tedious at times, it was tons of fun to do. And I look forward to going back to these pics and posts in the future. I'll definitely be doing this again and I hope you'll join in.

My future basketball player.

The cutie still wears a frown.

Fried rice for brunch. Take eggs + rice + whatever meat you have in your fridge + any veggies you have = ingredients :). In this case: peas, corn, kosher hotdog, chicken apple sausage.

Nearing one month old.

Able to focus better.

My parents and their grandkids.

Oliver and his cousin, Sophia. Born 21 days apart.

She's taller than him even though he's older ;). Well, I'm short and my bro is 6 feet...

More of my mom's yummy cooking.

Mattie in my Dad's favorite hat.

Learning how to wash the dishes...haha! Just kidding!

He totally knows how to navigate the iPad! And is needing a haircut badly!

Love,

Thanking the Hospital Staff.

Hello everyone!

I am taking a break from the world of Zombie Land -- that is, I have a few minutes in between feeding the baby and entertaining the tater tot.

Just before writing this, I had about 10 minutes to make some tags. I actually made simple cards!

IMG_1577

They are for the thank you gifts we're giving to the hospital staff who helped me stay problem-free during my pregnancy and deliver a healthy baby. There are four groups of them in the perinatal, labor & delivery, and post-partum departments -- from the unit secretary to the physician, we wanted to thank them all!

As a nurse myself, it is difficult to be the 'patient.' The staff took really good care of me and my son. I was very impressed with their kindness and support.

I wanted to give these nurses and doctors something special, something different than your regular See's chocolate box. A few years ago, one of my Japanese-American patients introduced me to Yoku Moku. It is a brand of gourmet cookies with natural ingredients and no preservatives. The box contains many differnt kinds of confections -- truly yummy!!

(pic source from link above)

I believe they are made from Japan. Because of the recent tragedy in the country, they have been back-ordered. I finally found them, and they should be getting shipped soon.

Anyway, my gift tags are made from K&Company papers, Sandy Lion stickers, Paper Smooches stamps (my go-to sentiments), and Martha Stewart Twine.

Thanks for visiting!

Cupcakes

IMG_9859

Hello everybody!

Does anyone else have a cupcake obsession?

I really love taking pics of them, buying them, admiring them, hoarding patterned paper consisting of them.

But here's a secret... I'm not a big fan of eating them. LOL! I'd much rather have a piece of good ole cake, thank you very much! Weird, huh?

Here's a birthday card featuring some of said paper collection. The XOXO glitter on the bottom left were adhered using Collage Pauge. I just love how this glue dries with sparkles!

Smile and Eat!

Photobucket

Hello!

I've got a quick and simple card for you. It's got lots of Love Elsie, both old (camera PP) and new (checkered fabric & star sticker).

I absolutely fell in love with her new Camp Cute kit. Not sure when I'll be using the rest of the supplies as I have never ever gone camping before. The closest I came to it was when I took my sister and cousins to Yosemite for the weekend, and we rented some cabins outside of the park. He he. After hiking all day, we had to drive the 30 minutes it took to get there.

But this summer, I'm hoping to finally go camping with my hubby's cousins! Yay!

And here's some more eye candy for you...

According to this New York Times article, a lot more people are taking photographs of their food and posting them.

I happen to be one of those people who like to document yummy & well presented food so you'll be seeing some here now and then :).

Here's the latest from my outing with some friends at La Mar. It was my first time tasting Peruvian food. So good!

1. Fried potatoes and bananas.
2. Cebiche (the national dish of Peru).
3. Peruvian whipped potatoes with Dungeness crab, avocado, cherry tomato & quail egg.
4. Corn Empanadas.

Have a great weekend!

LOVE Day 2010

Good Tuesday (late) evening to y'all....at least on the West Coast! I've been really busy these past couple of days, and so I thought I'd blog before work tomorrow.

I've got a couple more Valentine's cards to show you. This one was made with C.C. Design's Flower Power stamps.

The supplies I used are not from your typical paper crafting companies... and I thought that was cool. PP is from Jillibean Soup. The tags are from Daisy Bucket Designs. The sentiment is from Imagination Project, and the pearls are from Recollection. Misc are the flower/brad from Heidi Grace Designs, Martha Stewart punch, and copics.

I hope you all had a Happy V-Day. I did! Even if we didn't get to celebrate on the exact date, my DH & I still had fun. We watched Valentine's Day (it was cute enough) & had dinner at Alexander's Steakhouse.

Here's a pic of the flowers that my DH got for me....so sweet!

This was actually at the end of the meal.. each table gets a free cotton candy. So fun!

My hubby holding up his Wagyu beef Certificate of Authenticity.

And below are pics of our yummy food...1) a dollop of pear sherbet to cleanse the palate. 2) King crab galore!!! 3) Truffled french fries. 4) Breakfast in Bed (that was name on the menu!). We were so stuffed!!

Here's my honey reading his card...XOXO.

And of course, here are pics of the l'il one on his first LOVE day :).

Concentrating on some heart beads.

I am a sucker for those eyes! I'm sure those 'chicks' will be too!

And here are some pics of my work's pot-luck! Lots of treats...and do you see Edward in the mix? ;)

Love,

Score Some Fun!

Hello, hello, hello!!! How are you, this fine Friday evening? Today's post is waaayyy late but I wanted to start off my weekend with a blog entry :).

I don't normally use flash for my card photos, but just got done with this, the baby boy's napping, and the sun has set!

I did a 'boy' card for TGF's FFF Mercy's 2-5 Sketch. Used one of the Twinkle Tots stamps - Max. He is soo cute with that curly hair and big eyes! What made me get him was the videogame controller (reminds me of my hubby! :)).

Supplies:
CS- Bazzill
PP- Sandylion (white) and My Little Shoebox (robots).
Sticker- Sassafras
Brads- American Crafts
Misc- GinaK CS, Copics, Japanese tape, hand-written sentiment, 3-D tape.

Hope you're having a great Friday! This weekend, we are celebrating my Godson's (Jo's son's) birthday. On Sunday, we are celebrating Valentine's here. We'll miss the last part of the Superbowl but DH swears he doesn't mind. I'm scheduled to work next Sunday so we are going out a week early :). Am not much of a steak eater, but I'm excited to try the yummy and beautiful-looking food!

Birthday boy and Preggo girl

I really hope DH doesn't decide to check my blog out now that I have his birthday card up! :)

Made this cutie for my handsome Scorpio man. I also did it for two challenges (ok, that was FUN!). The first challenge is for the ICS # 39 at Inspirational Sketches. The second one is for AFA's Autumn colors challenge.

The supplies are mostly from my stash. The CS is Bazzill. The main orange PP is from Kailani designs. The felt buttons are Jenni Bowlin. Pearls are from K&Company. Miscellaneous- thread, Love Elsie stickers, Memento Ink, Copics. "Mahal" means love or to love in Tagalog. At first, i placed stickers that spelled out 'Daddy'-- you can see them underneath the Mahal cut-out. Have decided to leave them in for the fall colors/ layering effect. It's also a hidden message :).

I love that preggo Anya. And before the rumor mill gets started...I am NOT pregnant! I used the new parents stamp because:

1. I LOVED being pregnant.
2. There's finally a preggo stamp.
3. I still have some baby weight to lose. :) LOL!

Anyway, I'm so glad they came up with that stamp so I can stop altering. I was never quite satisfied with the Birthday Anya with child that I drew. And let me share with you a VERY rough draft that I made for the Design a Sprout contest.

Buwahahahaha!!! Preggie sprout didn't look like a Wild Sprout!! But I think it was kinda funny how she has that "awkward" stance that most expecting moms have towards the end of their term.

And I might as well share with you my other creation: Touring Camille Sprout.

She has to have a camera! And a cute, feminine outfit is in order for taking in the sights and hopefully doing some major shopping!! :) Notice how both of them have short to medium hair. My hair was shorter back then, & I wanted a stamp to relate to..LOL!

Ok, back to the card. I hope DH likes it. I think it's so cute and realistic that the Ian stamp has tousled hair -- ha ha! That is really what new daddies look like! Since I went back to work, I'm not able to make as many cards. But I really wanted to update my blog so I posted this card early. I've never done three images on a card before. Am THRILLED that I got to 'craft' my little family for the G.

Let me tell you...my DH has been so helpful lately. He wakes up earlier now that I've gone back to my full time job. He gets our babe ready, feeds him, and drops him off and picks him up at his parents'. We've had our bickering in the beginning the way new, stressed-out parents normally argue. But I've realized how lucky I really am and am more in-love with him than ever!

His big day is early next week and I still haven't figured out where to take him for his birthday. I'm hoping to hear from Gary Danko (the namesake and chef has been featured in the Food Network!). But I made the reservation too late. :( Gotta find a 'shi-shi' place for my hubb's special occasion. We love to indulge our culinary taste buds when it comes to birthdays and anniversaries!

Thanks for visiting and leaving comments that make my day!!
