First Dance.

IMG_0515

Hola!!

I made this card for a colleague who is engaged! I used SOG's First Dance Mae, and they are super fun to color! I made them look like the lovely couple too! :)

I stamped the sentiment from the set with silver ink -- it looks a bit embossed on the background. I also used the gold foils and baby sequins from the SOG shop!!

So sorry to post and run, but I gotta go to work!!

WonderWoman and Winter Wonderland!

IMG_9577

Happy Saturday, folks!

I'm back with not one, but two Time for Tea Designs cards for you today! And this first one is from the new Winter release:

IMG_9579

Isn't she cute with that outfit? I especially love the long socks! If I could pull off this look, I would totally wear all of it.

I have been really into making my own background. Here, I wanted to create a lot of dimension and texture. I stamped the background with gold ink using SOG stamps. Then, I layered with a Hambly print overlay. The sentiment is also from Hambly (although, now I see that it doesn't really make any sense :)).

And lastly, I want those same boots in that particular color!!

Next, here's a card featuring Wonderwoman Digital stamp! I kinda messed up coloring her legs and hair, but other than that, isn't she a beaut? And looks sassy and strong too!

IMG_9574

I thought Paper Issues' Super Hero pack was perfect for her. I just love all the little details like the evil eyes stickers! I especially adore the washi tape that came with it -- a strip is shown on that yellow ribbon! The only things I added were the sentiment and border dots that I hand drew!

Have a wonderful day, peeps!

Balloon Kaylee's Birthday Party!

IMG_8875

Hi all!

I am currently on vacay from work (and from this kind of "work" as well), and haven't really crafted. So I thought I'd show you all an old card I made but never got to post about. I made this card featuring SOG's Balloon Kaylee for this summer's CHA conference.

In fact, the watermark on this photo is old too. (oooops) It was from when I was still on the DT. Anyway, my inspiration for this card was my friend, Michelle's birthday! She is so fun and has such a colorful personality! So doesn't it look like there's a party going on in this card? LOL!!!

Toot-a-loo!!

i LOVE Astro Tobie!

Hello, everyone!! I've got two SOG-y cards to show ya today! Let's get started now, shall we?

The first one is of Astro Tobie, the newest digi stamp release over at Some Odd Girl!

I just love this stamp! I have this thing for astronauts! My sis, Kristine, had wanted to be an astronaut for years! Mattie was an astronaut for his first Halloween! So I was ecstatic when Kristy made this image!

IMG_9389

I gotta admit that I love how this card came out. I really do love making scenic cards, and I was so relieved to find more of this October Afternoon Rocketship line!!! After all, I used a whole bunch on this other astronaut project for PWCO. (I made that album while I was still preggo with Oli so astronauts definitely bring out something very sentimental in me :)).

IMG_9392

And lookie here! I even gave Tobie a real helmet! Haha! Y'all remember this technique, right? Yup! Glossy Accent glue!

The other DT gals also have got a new cut file to show ya! Star Fall Background Cut File can be seen in the blogs of Vera, Anna, Rachel, MP, Leah C.
Astro Tobie can be seen in the blogs of MP, Judy, Leah C.

In other news, there's a fun challenge going on at the SOG Ning Community! Make a project using a sentiment only (it has to be prominent!). Play by 9/8, 8 pm EST and you can win a 3x4 stamp and a CHA catalog! Such great prizes!!

Here's my take:

IMG_9367

Of course, it had to be something I could color. This card is very much vintage like. And I just realized that the tone of the above cards make those look a bit vintage-y too!

Enjoy today!!

SOG's September Sketch Challenge and Card Swap.

If you are looking for my Yumi and Fumi Handmade birthday blog post, please go HERE or scroll down.

Hello, folks! It's the first of the month, and that means another super duper cool-io sketch challenge over at Some Odd Girl!

Here's my take, with the sentiment location off a bit. I don't know why but I always like to be just a little different. :)

IMG_9312

I also made this card for a card swap that we were having at the Some Odd Girl community. I gave it to Miss Alexis of Digital Lace.

I used Artist Mae for the image and sentiment. But I also went a step further and made my own patterned paper and used the heart and circle in Deer Mae.

I incorporated a lot of neon here... neon ink as well as neon splatters. And there are lots of varying textures from the cork behind her to the glittered arrows.

IMG_9313

I hope Alexis loved her card. Because I am quite happy with how it turned out!

Have a great day, everyone! Make sure you go to the SOG blog for more rules and details on this challenge! We'd love for all of you to play along (SOG stamps are a must!).

Making Flairs at Some Odd Girl.

Hey, how's it going?

Today, I am featured at the Some Odd Girl blog, and I wrote up the Tutorial Post on Making Flairs.  If you don't scrapbook or are not quite familiar with flairs, here is an example from Skipping 5:

IMG_9296

They make great embellishments for crafty projects, not only scrapbook lay-outs, but cards and altered items as well.  They kind of remind me of bottle caps in a way.  They are round, thick, and are very cute.

You can personalize and make your own using a flair maker.  But if you don't have hundreds of dollars to spend, you can also try these cheaper, similar alternatives.  What's good is you probably have these items in your craft room already.

You will need some round, epoxy stickers.  Or Glossy Accent glue.  Or the Epiphany button maker (I have Round 20 shown here) and its coordinating buttons.

IMG_9278

Gather up some Some Odd Girl images. I've used the clear critter stamps from Hey Kaylee and Gwen in Bloom and the swirls from Artist Mae.  I also shrunk a digital stamp - Tropical Mae, and will be using her top half.  You can leave the image uncolored, color them, stamp them on patterned paper, color the background, etc.  So many different options!

IMG_9279

The easiest ones are the stickers, of course.  Just line up and cut away!

IMG_9288

For the glossy accent, squeeze the glue on the middle and do not stop to prevent air bubbles.  Also, less is more!

IMG_9290

Here's what it looks like:

IMG_9292

I ended up going over the part I wanted for Tropical Mae below, so i let it dry (8 hours overnight), and traced a circle on the back and proceeded to cut it out.  I ended up cutting into the glue part as well.

IMG_9293

Follow the instructions on the Epiphany button maker, which includes lining up image through that hole in the middle.

IMG_9294

I decided to make a scrapbook lay-out that would house my flairs.  I am very much into ink splatter right now.

IMG_9295

And this is the finished product:

IMG_9302

Added some star glitter and washi tape with Super Tobie.  And of course, pics of the little tater tots in their SuperHero raincoats!

IMG_9306

Aren't the flairs a nice addition to all the backyard fun?  I love how they're different sizes as well!

IMG_9307

IMG_9309

Hope you enjoyed it!  SOG is having a whole week of tutorials so make sure you stop by everyday!

Christmas Tree Mae

Good Tuesday morning, everyone!!

I'm here to show ya a fabulous new digi release over at Some Odd Girl. There are actually two, but I am signed up for Miss Christmas Tree Mae. You can view the cute Polar Cub-sicle on the blog!

IMG_9337

Now I don't know about you, but I love watching Project Runway, and Christmas Tree Mae's dress reminds me of that show. Isn't it very couture-like? I start becoming on the look-out for the perfect Holiday outfit(s) come September so she is right on time! LOL!

I am not quite pleased with my coloring of her, especially the lighting effect. But isn't she a beaut? I decided to tone down the colors, but chose really graphic items for the card elements.

Adorable Owl-Days.

Hi blog friends!

It's time for the last peek at August's clear stamp sets over at Some Odd Girl!

These Owl-Days' friends just exude cuteness, so I decided to do an adorable critter trend, and went ten times fold for some whimsical overload!!! You know what they say, right? Go BIG, or go home! And go HUMONGOUS, I did!

IMG_9228

To make them stand out, I decided to color the two Owls my current fave shades right now -- mint and hot pink. I adore that patterned paper full of triangles but also wanted to make a scene. So I took the critters and plants and sentiment from Gwen in Bloom and Hey Kaylee and made a little background scene. I left them uncolored to let the Owls shine! And that they did! The pink one may actually be a bit blinding, haha!

IMG_9230

Added some bling, some punches, and washi tape, and voila!!!

Thanks so much for visiting!

Make sure you stop by Rachel's, Tabbatha's, Vera's, Mary Pat's, Judy's, and Anna Sigga'sfor more inspo! And remember, you can win some new releases if you comment on the SOG blog posts about these clear stamp goodness!

Hugs and kisses,

An Unexpected Forest Critter at the August Sketch Challenge for SOG!

*** If you're looking for my Yumi & Fumi Handmade announcement, please click HERE or scroll down! Thank you! *****

It's August 1st, peeps! And ya know what that means?!

It's time for another wonderful sketch challenge at Some Odd Girl!

Here's my creation for the sketch featuring a future August Clear Stamp release!!

IMG_9158

When we had down time at CHA, I played along with our make-n-takes. The main focus of the card is the tag there, and that was our make-n-take. I was super inspired by one of the customers who colored his Holli Deer purple so I tried the same.

Doesn't she look surreal and magical? I paired her up with turquoise as it was the color of our scarf uniform at CHA. I love the unexpected and non-traditional colors of this Holiday card. It's very unique and a bit eye-catching and it may even cause some eyebrows to raise, don't ya think? Haha! What's life without some drama? LOL!

IMG_9161

I hope you go to the SOG blog for more DT inspiration! Remember that you have all month to play! We are trying to get fifty participants so pls join in on the fun!!

Kisses to you!!

Jogger Mae.

Hey blogland! I hope your week is off to a great start! Mine is! :)

It's Tuesday and that usually means a new Digital stamp reveal at Some Odd Girl!

Featuring Jogger Mae:

IMG_9167

I just love "action stamps." And she is so versatile too! She encourages me to get on the treadmill and start exercising! I love how you can basically size her up or down to fit not only cards, but also scrapbook lay-outs or even Project Life. At the last crop I went to, I saw a lady making a Weightloss Journey journal. It was so very inspiring and it truly made her proud and held her accountable in the process!

At first, I was going to give this card to a friend who runs. But I think I may just keep it as an inspiration for myself. I just may go for a walk around my neighborhood or even start up that big machine in my craftroom (and by machine, I don't mean my computer! LOL).

For the card, I kept it pretty simple. I wanted to keep the theme an uprising and encouraging one so I opted for the clouds. The sentiment is from SOG's Music Mae. I had loved working out and running to music so I included that too. And that doggie on the washi made a cute addition :).

IMG_9168

Now if only I had the balls to run outdoors!!! Haha!

Don't forget to check out more inspiration on the SOG blog, Judy's, and Rene's blogs!

Byeeeee!!

Violet and Pup.

IMG_8552

'Morning, all of BlogLand! I'm playing along at the SOG Ning Community's Get Moving Challenge. You basically make a card using a Some Odd Girl image who is doing something. In this case, Puppy Love Mae was opening a present and lifted up the puppy! Not to mention the amount of activity she'll get taking care of the pup! :)

I hope you get to play along! The challenge runs up till the 7th, and the winner would get such a cool prize: A 10 pound gift certificate to Quixotic Paperie and a 4x3 SOG stamp set!!!

Purple is probably the hardest color I work with, just because I don't find a lot of products that match it. Thank goodness for these papers and the felt flowers from CatShy Crafts!

IMG_8555

Have an amazing weekend!!!

Merman Kody.

Why, hello there, peeps!!

It's Tuesday, and it is my turn to write up the post for Some Odd Girl's new Digi Release post today.

What a hunk-a hunk-a burning love of a fella, eh??

IMG_8895

Well, Merman Kody is such a strong and handsome presence in Odd land!! He is just about the coolest / hottest person in all of the images, in my opinion~ LOL! This was the first time I've colored up a six-pack on a stamp! I must say I rather liked it! :)

I used up Glitz Design's papers from their Nautical Box kit. There were a lot of symbols of anchors, and it made good sense to me to showcase Merman's Kody's strength and stability. Doesn't he look like a confident merman? He is also majestic and beautiful, just like a whale so I included it in the card.

Whales are actually my favorite animals. Mermans are a close second though, BUWAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!! Teehee!

Kidding aside, please visit some of my fellow Oddies for more inspiration: Katie, Mila, and Anna's blogs.

Mila also made a creation for the other digi release - Castle on a Hill Background.

IMG_8895

Ok, folks! It's time for me to say good-bye for the day. Thanks so much for visiting!!!
