SCRS World Card Making Day Sale

Hi everyone!

Just a quick post to tell you that there is a sale over at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps for World Card Making Day! One day only, folks, so ya better hurry! :)

Happy shopping and crafting!

Currents at our Home

Hi all!

TGIF! We've been busy this past week, and unfortunately, I don't think I would be able to have a post/ card/ creation everyday. So today, I thought I'd show you recent happenings with my fam.

First, I'm so excited to say that my craft room is underway (finally!). Here's a before picture.

Hopefully, in about a month, I'll be showing you an after picture (that is my goal length of time).

Also, somebody started pre-school. Here's MK showing his new doggie bag from Cate & Levi. I got it on sale from Gilt.com, and I must say that I love how the backpack is from natural and reclaimed materials. And that it is handmade. And for my Canadian friends, how lovely that this company is from your side!

Here are a few more pics of Mattie during the actual day.

Mattie, you were so excited at the mention of playing with other kids. On the first day, you cried most of the day and wouldn't let go of your jacket because it was your safety item. And mama's heart was broken when I heard this. But during the subsequent day, you cried for only ten minutes and joined in on the sing and dance circle. And I was elated. I tear up at the thought of how fast you are growing up. If it were only up to me, I would keep you here at home for one more year because I know once you start school, you'll be away for half the day. But I know that this is the right thing for you right now. I see how happy you are playing with other kids. The slide is your favorite in the playground. You are more verbal than ever and have new words. I know you'll be making lots of friends and learning so much! And I am glad it's only part-time so I could still enjoy you and not feel that you are already starting school at such a young age.

I better get cracking on ordering some pics...looks like I've got some scrapping to do! :)

Thanks for visiting, everybody!!

On The 1st Week of Christmas... & lots of TV shows!

IMG_2449

Good Thursday morning, everyone!

Hope you're all doing well! So who's got their Fall TV show line-up? I sure do! With Project Runway, Parenthood, Glee, The Sing-Off, X factor, The Real World, Rachel Zoe Project, Jersey Shore..... um, yeah, my DVR is full!

I am just a sucker for all those Reality Shows. And I know I am probably losing brain cells when I watch The Jersey Shore, but I just can't help it! It's hilarious!!! :):):)

For today's post, I have a tag for the first week at SOG's 12 Weeks of Christmas Holiday Challenge on FlickR. The goal was to make a Holiday tag. Simple enough, eh?

I finally got to color up and use Tiny Baby. Isn't he just darling?

And for some reason, sometimes when I color up stamp images, a few of them remind me of certain people. Like Tiny Baby somehow reminds me of a baby version of Mark from So You Think You Can Dance. He's now one of Lady Gaga's back-up dancers. Maybe because of the mohawk he is now sporting looks very similar to TB's little sprout of hair? Hehehe! Could it be that my eyes are getting worst? Oh no!

And speaking of babies, I got to see Up All Night too, and I must say that I am enjoying Christina Applegate as a mother. She is too cute!

For the tag, I used:
CS- American Crafts. Neenah Solar White.
PP- Prima.
Die-cuts and buttons - Bo Bunny.
Ribbon- Queen & Co. (red), Misc (blue).
Letters- Authentique (black and cream). Misc (blue).
Others- Copics. Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.

I hope you all have a lovely day. I'd love to hear some of your favorite TV shows.

PWCO Sketch # 100.

IMG_2400

Good Wednesday morning, everyone!

It's Sketch # ONE - HUNDRED at PaperWorks Company!!! So a bunch of us decided to play along!

Since this sketch features three stamps, I thought I'd use PWCO's Zach and Zoe (Zach the basketball player and Zoe the volleyball player). This card is going to one of my lovely friends who coaches her daughter's volleyball team! Go M!!!

I wasn't sure if the team had any boys (as I have yet to watch one of their games), but I included Zach anyway and drew in some extra lines on his basketball to turn it into a volleyball.

Their team colors are blue and white. I paired the images with some KI Memories, Love Elsie collection. These papers are from 2005, so I am very proud of myself. Hehe! And, yes, I hoarded almost every paper from this collection back then! :)

I didn't add any embellishments (which was hard for me). But I did stamp the sentiment from Paper Smooches numerous times.

I hope you all have a gorgeous day! It's been hot around my neck of the woods -- we are getting spoiled right before it turns cold for Fall!

Joyful!

IMG_2453

Hello, everybody!

Just like Karber for SCRS' Rainbow Leslie here, I am:

1. JoyFUL
2. Elated
3. and so, so EXCITED!!

I am now part of the Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Design Team!!! WOOT WOOT!!!!

Photobucket

More specifically, I am to design for mostly the Karber rubber stamps! Aren't they so cute?!

Photobucket

I was very honored when Sparkle asked me to be a part of her team. I was also pleasantly shocked! Uh, me?? I thought to myself, "Are you sure?" while jumping up and down!! My hard work has paid off!!

I LOVE it when the 'popular and talented' peeps in the stamping world give newbies like me a chance. Thank you, Sparkle!! (And many thanks also to the other fab designers who have accepted little ole me in their teams in the past and present-- Amy Young & PWCO).

Watch out, here comes a fresh face .... yippeeeee!!!!

I hope you join me back here and the SCRS challenge blog on Tuesdays! And coming soon, there is the reveal of a new Karber stamp -- she is so adorable!

And one more thing.... did I tell you that I am so very excited?!!

Haha, because I am.

No, really... if you couldn't tell from above, I truly am!!

EXCITED!

And ELATED!

LOL!

Ok, because I'm bordering on being annoying as well and would probably soon lose my audience, I also made this card for the Deconstructed Sketch # 20.

Supplies:
CS- Neenah Solar White. Bazzill.
PP- Bella Blvd.
Stickers- American Crafts.
Scissors- Martha Stewart.

Thanks so much for visiting! :)

Mini Tilda with Many Hearts.

IMG_2456

Good afternoon, everybody!

Today, I've got a super tiny image on a truly simple card designed on a very small sized card.

I didn't even know these mini Tildas existed, until I bought the the stamps from Alison. (Btw, she is still selling some cute ones on her blog post).

I included the clothespin to show you all exactly how small Tilda with many hearts is. But she is so freaking cute!!! I paired her up with some American Crafts (stickers) and PP (Echo Park).

Ok, I'm sorry for the short post! I can't stop yawning and nodding off here, even though I'm dying to craft. I may forego napping today.

See you here tomorrow!

ABAC - Candy Holder & Book Mark

IMG_2010

Good Sunday morning, peeps!

Hope the day is treating you well so far! Today, I've got an Anything But a Card project to show you for my post at PaperWorks Company.

It's a candy holder and bookmark all rolled into one! I saw Ashley's project and wanted to 'taglift' (is that the right word?) and make my own version. Isn't it cute? It's so easy to make too! Thanks, Ashley!

In the back of my mind, I worry about how the card-making and scrapping industries are affecting our trees, our Mother Earth. I always think to myself that most people will value their cards, their scrapbooks, and that my friends will not throw away my creations. But who are we kidding? Some do get trashed.

But there's a light that begins to flicker in that corner of my mind when I see people upcycling or making two-in-one gifts like these. I hope our loved ones continue to cherish our momentos, our memories, and our hard work. And that the tree that once was has reincarnated into beautiful patterned paper that we all will always treasure.

Okay, enough corniness already!!!! Buwahahaha!

Supplies:
Stamp- PWCO's Safari Friends- Zoie the Zebra.
CS- American Craft, Neenah.
PP- Authentique.
Misc- Ribbon, Tim Holtz mini attacher, Martha Stewart punch, Candy, Button, Twine, Copics.

toot-a-loo!

Christmas in her Living Room

Happy Saturday, everyone!

I just had to continue the SOG love from yesterday's blog hop. I've got a card featuring Sweet Thinkin' Mae for their Inspiration Challenge (wow, a lotta links here, eh?).

Here's the pic:

I went with the colors and Holiday theme.

IMG_2438

Can I just tell you that I love this scene? It's so cozy and warm. I love that there's a fireplace. In our home, we don't have one but I've always wanted a mantle. I think it's such a great place to decorate for any holiday. Here, I left it alone because there are a lot of 'pictures' above. And there are already stockings hanging.

IMG_2442

If you noticed, Mae looks a bit different here. Wanted to try out stamping with no black lines again like I did here. But for some reason, I like the other one better. Maybe because it looks like her features changed here? Instead of lining her facial features with my copic multiliner in black, i did it with a brown spica pen. Except for her eyes because she's wearing eye-liner and all :).

Stamping without the black lines also made the image look like a watercolor painting again, which matches more with the soft background.

IMG_2441

Supplies:
CS- Bazzill. Neenah.
PP- Echo Park ('wallpaper'). Bo Bunny ('hardwood floor'). Creative Imaginations ('rug').
Die-cuts- Not sure; there was no name on the packaging. It's a new product. Anybody know?
Tiles- Prima.
Twine- House of Threes.
Sentiment- Paper Smooches' Word Up.
Ink- Jenni Bowlin. Ippity.

Have a wonderful weekend, everybody! Looking forward to going shopping for some shelves for my craftroom!! I've been waiting for a year! I'm determined to get most of the organization done before I go back to work.

Tata!

Top 9 SOG Blog Hop.

What up, ladies? How're y'all doing this fine Friday mornin'?

I am over the moon today because I get to participate in a blog hop with some wonderful peeps and feature a very special, never-before-seen Some Odd Girl digi stamp!!!!

If you came here from Rene's blog, then you're in the right place.

Remember when I joined in on the contest for Guest DT on SOG's facebook? I turned in these three tags and was super bummed that I didn't get it? Well, sometimes, it pays to make it to the second round because Kristy decided to let us in on the fun for today!

Here's Kristy's message:

"Welcome to a very special hop that features the Monday Digi Release at Some Odd Girl! In August we had our first Get Odd Guest Challenge on FB and we had SUCH a fabulous Top 10 that I couldn't help but want to work with such amazing talent! So with the massive 14 image release dropping starting on Monday what better fun can we have a hop peeking some of these digis? PFFT none! :)

This release features images that are great for fall, Halloween, Winter and Christmas, everything you need for the coming season. So get started on the hop and check out some of the fun images. Monday we'll start reveals and a fun sale!"

Ok, folks, featuring Magician Tobie....

IMG_2398

Doesn't he look great as a magician?

For the card, I kept the background pretty simple and went wild with the embellishments. I thought about what a magician would need for his/her magic show: a deck of cards, flowers out of the top hat, a bunch of bunnies galore! (Come to think of it, I missed the hankerchiefs tied up in knots!!!). :) Hope you enjoyed my interpretation!

Your next stop is Linda A! In case you get lost, here's the order of the blog hop! Just click on each link address to see more of the digi releases!

Hoot Hoot.

IMG_2391

Hello, hello, hello!

Y'know, for as many cards that I make, sometimes I still scramble for a card when a last minute occasion pops up!

This card may be a non-traditonal card for a friend's upcoming baby because it features the quirky owl from Paper Smooches' Chubby Chums set. But with the baby-themed papers from Fancy Pants Design, I think it works.

Owls have been a popular theme for a lot of the baby showers this year. These big-eyed and wise creatures are so very cute!

I'm also entering this card for the Sparks Challenge at the new PS Sparks blog. It's a photo inspiration challenge and here's the pic:

I went with the colors of peach, lime, baby blue, and cream for the owl and most elements of the card. The pearls and lace are for the textures. And the styles of vintage and cutesy are combined into one. I've been interested in doing that a lot lately - pairing up a fun and cute stamp with shabby chic/ vintage papers. Gotta shake it up a little bit once in a while, right? ;)

Anyway, there is a DT call for this new challenge blog. Am debating whether or not to try for it. Speaking of, I have some awesome news to share with y'all in the next week! Am so excited!!!

The first of those news will be revealed tomorrow so I hope you come back!! Thanks so much for visiting!

Missoni purse.

Happy Hump Day, peeps!

My goodness, how time flies! Yesterday, I visited my work with Oli and Mattie and although I missed my colleagues and patients, I'm glad that I still have some time left for my maternity leave. Alas, I know that that time will go fast!

I will miss the days when I could post a Rinne Creation everyday! But I know that I am lucky and blessed to have a job. I need it to provide for my family, help pay the bills. And, ahem, support my stamping addiction, errr, I mean hobby (LOL!). Plus, I like to go shopping for lots of other things. And lemme tell you, it does not help that I am home browsing the internet.

Which brings me to my card.

If you have a Target in your town, you may have heard that Missoni was coming. It is the famous Italian design brand that was started in the 1950's and is known for its zigzag patterns and unique knitwear. Missoni items are now available at Target for a very short time. And shopaholics and fashionistas alike came in herds and the items all sold out on their internet site within days.

I was lucky enough to be watching the news on that very first day - they were talking about how the internet site kept crashing. This was unheard of before that day. Luckily, both children of mine just got fed so I scooped them up and we drove to the nearest store. I was familiar with the brand and I knew the cheaper version would be in demand even if the labels stated "Made in China." I thought to myself, "Why not?" as I'd probably never be able to own the real deal as those clothes were worth thousands of dollars.

Anyway, it was 9:30-ish and the store opened at 8. There were no other clothes in my size save a pajama bottom (which I grabbed and will probably try to wear in public, buwahahahaha -- all in the sake of fashion!). I got some Christmas shopping done for a lot of my nieces though and some house wares. I'm very excited about these cute glasses and towels that I got.

But pardon me if I'm rambling.....I am just all over the place today!! The card features some paper-piercing from the Missoni tag from Target. :)

IMG_2385

I love, love, love it! You see, I'm such a sucker for purses. I got these Miss Anya bags stamp because I knew I'd be showcasing those purses!!! Hahahaha! Raise your hand if you can relate!

Supplies:
CS- Recollections, Neenah.
PP- Sassafras. Basic Grey (plaid).
Punch and pearls- Martha Stewart.
Flowers- Prima.

At the Playground.

IMG_2381

I don't know about you ... but when I like a scrapbooking product, I become obsessed with it. Case in point, this Echo Park line, Playground.

I just had to have even just one of the sticker pages. Even though I really need to go on a Scrapbook diet as I've got tons of supplies. But I told myself, "How could I resist this cute design?" Especially if it portrays so much of this summer with my boys?

You see, when Oli-oli-oxen-free (hehe, my son's nickname is that catchphrase in hide and seek) was born, it was really overwhelming to go out during those first few weeks. And I felt so bad for the tater tot who just stayed indoors at that time. Eventually, we developed a routine, and one of my goals was to be able to take them out to the playground for at least half an hour everyday. Such an accomplishment for someone with a newborn!

My Moby Wrap definitely helped. It kept the baby safe and comfortable yet allowed me to have my hands free to assist Mattie.

Anyway, back to the Playground line -- love how it's so bright and colorful. Really depicts summertime and happiness :). I used Bazzill for the cardstock and Luxe for the striped patterned paper. I embellished with my white pen from Inkssentials.

Have a happy Tuesday, folks!

JoYful Win!

IMG_2380

Good Monday morning, everyone!

FlickR was acting up last night so I apologize if my picture is miniscule. I couldn't upload and edit my pic correctly so I'll be adding the revised one later. (added and revised it).

Today, I'm using another cute Fairwee - it's Fairwee Josie from Sweet November by Amy Young.

Doesn't she look all blissful sitting on the lovely cluster of flowers without a care in the world? She has that look of satisfaction, I tell ya!

I am loving these foldies from Sassafras. The flowers have guides on where to fold to give them dimension. I really love cards with lots of textures!

IMG_2377

The rest of my supplies are from Bazzill (CS) and Neenah (CS). The patterned papers are from Fancy Pants Design. The letter stickers are from October Afternoon. And the pearl wrap is from Bo Bunny.

As you can tell, I haven't finished the tutorial on that inklinkz application I told you about :).

And btw, I am still missing my corner rounder punch so I manually cut these ...teehee!

This card is also for Flutter By Wednesday # 171.

In other news, my card won at the Karber Challenge blog for Challenge # 40. Sure, my card was picked randomly, but I am still over the moon!!

Have a joyful day!!

ABAC - Love Sign.

IMG_2370

Good Sunday morning, everyone! Hope you are all doing well!

For my Anything But A Card project today over at PaperWorks Co., I decided to decorate this wooden sign I bought at the local craft store.

This sign could be used as decor for a wedding or even at the newlyweds' home. I went with a wedding theme because our dear boss-lady, Peggy, will be getting married soon!!!

I used Echo Park for the patterned paper in the background. In fact, I got the paper from the monthly PaperCard kit back in June. The stamp is PWCO / RAM Happiness is a Piece of Cake.

Aren't they such a cute couple? They scene was so fun to color, especially that cake! And I was in the mood to do the same shade as a Tiffany's box :).

The flower image and nestability were actually items I upcycled from packaging when I ordered a stamp pad. I could never waste something pretty and handmade! The pearls are from Creative Imaginations, and the stitching is hand-drawn. The ribbon is from my stash.

Have a wonderful day!

Lazy Day.

Hello, hello everyone!

Hope you are all doing well this Saturday afternoon. We have no real plans today except for a brief appointment at 2 pm. And I'm so glad for it. Hoping for some family cuddling on the couch and maybe some crafting for me.

So today, I have a laid-back (*read: lazy*, LOL) card as well.

IMG_2361

Like Sparkle once said, Ukelele Josh is reminiscent of Jason Mraz. He happens to be my favorite male artist, and who could forget that island-sounding song of his, "I'm Yours"?

I even switched the sentiment to this one by Studio G (found at the 99 cent bin at Michael's). Peace. Love. Happiness. :)

And just look at that ocean...isn't it the calmest body of water you've seen? Heee hee!

Here's another view of the card to show dimensions of that tree embellishment by Hulahlah.

IMG_2362

The 'sand' is made by putting down 2-sided adhesive and Stampfetti. :)

Hope you're having a laid-back day as well!

Holding on to Summer.

IMG_2299

Happy TGIF!

Hello, folks! Just a quick CAS card from me today. That cute little Chickie from Paper Smooches' Chubby Chums is paired up with some Echo Park. Probably gonna be one of the last couple of Summer-themed cards from me.

Speaking of Summer...wanting to hold on to it by getting some highlights in my hair. This isn't the first time I've gotten highlights, but in the last 3-4 years, I've gone 'natural' and haven't colored my hair. Y'know, it gets pretty expensive, time-consuming, and damaging to the hair so I took a break.

Well, lately, I've been craving for a change so voila! Here's the process:

1. A haircut with layers.
2. Color and highlights.
3. Finished result in natural light.
4. Back view in salon light.

I'm loving it so far! :)

But alas, I wanted to keep my hair long so there wasn't enough to donate to Locks of Love. Still hoping to do this in the future!

Have a great weekend, peeps!

HK on the go!

IMG_2334

Hello, all!

Thought I'd play with my smallest stamps again - PSA's Hello Kitty On The Go Peel & Stick sets. Isn't she cute? She's about an inch tall and an inch wide so coloring was a breeze ;).

Decided to mix cuteness with shabby chic here, hence the black lace.

In other news, Jo gave me a blog award (thank you!), so I thought I'd play along and return the favor to some of you.

To receive this award, I need to: answer the following questions, award this 'Butterfly Award' to 10 other bloggers, contact the 10 bloggers to let them know they have been given this award, and I also need to show a link to the person who gave me the 'Butterfly Award'.
