Poor Jo and her mother's day...here's the card I made for her..I love the 7gypsies charm!

i couldn't sleep..

I was looking through Creating Keepsakes and saw a similar lay-out like this, and I thought, "Why not think out of the box and do something besides my usual style?" I always seem to do fun and bright pages whenever I have pics with my teen cousins. I also really want to learn how to use a sewing machine (I've done it when I was younger but now I don't remember). So instead of real stitches, I put it some of those gel sticker ones :)!

I think I've only done 1-2 pages from Jo's wedding 2.5 years (yikes!). Here are the finished products! I wanted them all to have the same theme, so I used the same line of Basic Grey, with a tying color of red. I used BG because it was romantic! Note: I ordered the pictures from Jo's photographer, Sharon Dawson.

This one's my favorite lay-out from the wedding. It's also my most fave pic of Jo (and hers as well as shown in her blog!! :)) I love the colors of brown and red and white together. I also like the ribbon I used here!

Sorry to say, but I think this one's my least fave of the bunch..and it's the one of Gil and I (which are usually what I love!). I know that Basic Grey has a lot going on on their pages, which usually is wonderful for me because they're so artistic. They're like a painting of their own!! But I overdid it with MORE embellishments up on top! Oh well!!

I like this lay-out because it's almost chaotic! I feel that the jumble of colors reflect what we were all thinking: a little bit of nervousness, awe, sentiment, fun, and romance!! I added in ribbons and the white mesh to imitate a wedding dress. And you can barely see it, but there's a piece of fine lace across the page to symbolize the flying veil. I love this picture!!!

I'm with Jo now...I don't like scanning anymore, nor do I like listing my supplies. So this blog was a draft for a while but I finally finished it!! Although, sorry folks, I really don't feel like writing my supplies for my cards because 1) the stuff I use is pretty much the same as my lay-outs. AND 2) if it's not the same, the bits and pieces of paper/embellishments I use are from an old pile and there'll be a lot of question marks!!


The cards are for my sis and cousin's upcoming bdays, and I'm still deciding who to give the first one to (that's why it's vague).

My dad and fiance are both masculine men, and the striped paper and ribbon reflect this. But I wanted to balance them out so I chose the flowered paper, which is actually blue but looks white. I like how my two favorite men almost look alike in this picture and how wide their smiles are!

I get bored easily, and so I wanted to do something funky with these letters to the point where they kinda look abstract and hard to read. It almost looks like the letters have a life of their own "hanging on to" and "jumping" over the stripe. I wanted to mix up the circles and stripe shapes, too, to match my top that night!

I love this picture of my cousins, sisters, and I. We had on colorful outfits and accessories and I wanted my lay-out to be like that.

I wanted to try more of my supplies, and I have tons of stamps sitting in their unopened packaging. I tried Jo's gift to me, and it took me awhile to figure out that the clear block was what you stick the stamps to (and not what you STAMP on!), but I did it!! :)

Jo's Card

This card is for Jo, I hope she got it by now from the mail (if not, SURPRISE!!). "Salamat" means "thank you" in Tagalog, and it was for my bday presents and 4th celebration!!

I used Basic Grey. Did you know I love Basic Grey??

Scrapbooking sure has changed over the years. I like how it got more artsy, how it looks more "textured" as if layered on by paint. And how it looks more altered. A mentor in one of my fave scrapbooking stores said that the trend is going to be changing soon, but I don't really care. I'm stubborn in that I like what I like, and I'm usually right about what I like (like Traci Bautista now being HUGE, who always said, "more texture, more altered, no rules!!"). But then, again, art is objective and so is scrapbooking. Whatever the new "IT" thang may be, I'm sure I'll be buying lots of it anyway! *think: Wedding Fund*
