Angel Love

Unfortunately, this is another sympathy card :(. My friend, A, has had a tough year. This is the second death in her family along with other tragedies. This will be a group card, and I wanted her to know that she is not alone during these difficult times. I want her to know that she is loved and supported by many people.

The sketch I used is from ICS # 52. The stamp is Angel Anya & the CS is from Bazzill. The PP with the flower is from My Mind's Eye. The other PP are from my stash. The rub-ons are Daisy D's and the rhinestones are from K & Company. I also used Liquid Applique (my first time using & i'm addicted!) and Inkssentials white opaque pen.

Anyway, I have work for the next couple of days so I'll see you on the weekend! Happy Hump Day!

XOXO,

Gratitute and Sympathy

Thank God it's Friiiiddayyyy! And I am off this weekend, yay! I have two cards to blog about today. :)

The first is for two challenges. This pretty pink number is for Club Anya's Manic Monday's Monochromatic challenge. It's obvious which color I chose, haha! And for pink being one of my most favorite color, I only had three of them in my Copic collection! Time to get more Copics, LOL!

It is also for ICS #48. Such an impeccable sketch!

And the wonderful Wild Sprouts Sassy Suzi is a special stamp indeed! My BFF, P, who does not craft but has adored my creations was my Secret Santa. She knew she wanted to get me a stamp but didn't know which ones I already had. So she researched and scoured through my posts and saw that I didn't have this one yet and got it for me. Wasn't that so sweet?

For this card, I really went through my scraps --
CS and tag: Bazzill
PP: The Paper Company (light pink vellum), glittered- unknown, felt- unknown
Letters: American Crafts (big), My Little Shoebox (little)
Button sticker: Love, Elsie
Rub-ons: Fiskars
Bling: Heidi Swapp
Flower: Junkitz
Misc: Strings (the fuzzy one reminds me of Suzi's sweater).

My second card is a sympathy card. I always have a hard time making these because I don't feel that I have appropriate stamps - I usually use the Japanese Anya or this TGF butterfly stamp.

It's for my DH's co-worker. We do not know her very well. But she, along with his other colleagues threw us a surprise baby shower and I thought that was very nice and thoughtful. And her story touched me. On the day after Christmas, her house burned down. Her DH was inside and he didn't make it. I'm tearing up just typing this because it is just a horrific way to die. And not only did she lose her home, she lost her partner as well :(. To think that everybody else was still celebrating the holidays at this time...

I found a lot of old rub-ons (Basic Grey & Fancy pants Design) so I thought I'd make a PP to symbolize a bouquet of flowers. And these beautiful fabric brads from K & Company are just really beautiful.

Let us not take what we have for granted and live each day to the fullest.

Much love,

Ingredients of this card...

You know when you find an embellishment in your stash and you save it because you know that it's perfect for a certain stamp or card or lay-out?? Well, that's how I felt about that strip of mushroom paper!!!! I knew I had to save it for some kind of forest or fairy-like theme!

And that mushroom patterned paper?? I first saw it at Jo's blog and fell in love with it. So much so that I bought the whole kit at Taylored Expressions. Am not quite sure which brand it is, although there are a lot of Cosmo Cricket in that kit-- LOVE!

My other favorite part is the peacock flumes-like adornment behind Amy's Buttercup Reedweb stamp. I think it just adds enough drama and flair to the card!

Speaking of drama and flair...did you all watch Glee last night? O....M...G...., right?? Poor Mr. Shuester...hope he leaves that conniving, crazy wife of his!

Oh, and I almost forgot. This card is for ICSketch # 45. I love this sketch!

P.S. How buttercup's hair looks like fire?? Purely unintentional. I accidentally picked up the wrong copic and colored with it. And then decided to just "go with the flow." LOL!

Be Merry

Wanted to try something different as far as my coloring. Saw that some of my blog 'friends' in Europe color with light colors.. and I did so with this Christmas card. I like how simple and subtle this Swiss Pixies Heidi is (thanks, Jo, for this image!).

This cute little creation is both for ICSketches # 44 and for Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge Week # 51. I still have lots of cards to make....aaahhhh!!!!

Used some Kraft paper for the CS, Basic Grey for the PP (eskimo kisses) and brad, KI Memories for the frame sticker, Cosmo Cricket for the bird sticker, Kaiser Rhinestones, Colorbox ink, Memento Ink, and of course, Copic Markers. I hand-wrote the sentiment.

Hope y'all had a Happy Thanksgiving! We did :). I can't believe Christmas is less than a month away!!!!
