Tropical Colors.

Hello all!!

First of all, let me apologize about this post. I am currently on vacation and had forgotten my laptop. So I am typing this up on my phone. I am hoping the links are correct :).

Today, I am showcasing the current Ning Challenge -- Tropical colors. What better way to do this project than to color up Tropical Mae. Doesn't she look so relaxed and seemingly living it up in Hawaii or Bora Bora?

I must admit that I went a little (ok, a lot) overboard with the orchids. But lately, it seems like my cards are getting to be one-layered and CAS (clean and simple). I wanted to go back to layers and lots of embellies. I also decided to put in quite a bit of mai tais, hee hee! She is, afterall, on vacay!

Anyone for Tennis?

Hello everyone!

In honor of Wimbledon, Miss Jo Davies created Anyone For Tennis for this month's release at Time for Tea Designs.

Isn't she so cute with her tongue out like that as if she was really concentrating? I also love her pose. It's so natural and awkward at the same time :). She is really focusing on that ball!!!

I'm not much of a tennis person, but I have loved Badminton, which tennis reminds me of. That feeling of your racket hitting the birdie....priceless!

'Morning, all of BlogLand! I'm playing along at the SOG Ning Community's Get Moving Challenge. You basically make a card using a Some Odd Girl image who is doing something. In this case, Puppy Love Mae was opening a present and lifted up the puppy! Not to mention the amount of activity she'll get taking care of the pup! :)

I hope you get to play along! The challenge runs up till the 7th, and the winner would get such a cool prize: A 10 pound gift certificate to Quixotic Paperie and a 4x3 SOG stamp set!!!

Purple is probably the hardest color I work with, just because I don't find a lot of products that match it. Thank goodness for these papers and the felt flowers from CatShy Crafts!

Why, hello there, peeps!!

It's Tuesday, and it is my turn to write up the post for Some Odd Girl's new Digi Release post today.

What a hunk-a hunk-a burning love of a fella, eh??



Well, Merman Kody is such a strong and handsome presence in Odd land!! He is just about the coolest / hottest person in all of the images, in my opinion~ LOL! This was the first time I've colored up a six-pack on a stamp! I must say I rather liked it! :)

I used up Glitz Design's papers from their Nautical Box kit. There were a lot of symbols of anchors, and it made good sense to me to showcase Merman's Kody's strength and stability. Doesn't he look like a confident merman? He is also majestic and beautiful, just like a whale so I included it in the card.

Whales are actually my favorite animals. Mermans are a close second though, BUWAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!! Teehee!

July Sketch Challenge at SOG

Hola! Can you believe it's July already? I sure can't! Wasn't it just the Holidays??

The first of the month means SOG has a new challenge -- the July Sketch Challenge. For the sketch and more Design Team inspiration, please visit the blog link from the previous sentence.

I decided to finally use up this little fella - Super Tobie. I've colored him a while back, and I didn't have great mojo last week when the sketch was due. I think the biggest advice I could give anyone who's just starting out with a design team is to work ahead. I was quite thankful I had a couple of colored up images to work with!

Oh, and I love those triangle embellies I bought. I've been buying quite a lot of crafty stuff so I may follow Jossie's advice. I may just do a "No Shop July." Haha! At least none for crafty stuff or clothes, for that matter!!!
