Round 4 at TGF's Royal Battle .... & Coriander

Photobucket

Happy Sunday to everyone! Today's post will be quick.

My card today features Coriander from the Sweet November line at ATS. I think she is the most beautiful out of Amy's fairies.

Thought she has sort of a pensive expression, so I paired her up with some kol laj writing behind her. I also used up a scrap of PP, flower from Prima, and the stamped piece of clay & clear overlay are also from kol laj. Also added some Craft-T metallic rub-ons to her wings to make them sparkle!

We are on ROUND 4 at The Greeting Farm's Royal Battle. You can view everyone's work at the Gallery.

I think the entries are quite lovely, but I have to say that our team, International Ink's entry is the most creative and detailed. Here's Sunghee's STELLAR take on the challenge of making candy packaging:

I suggest you even take a closer look by going to Sunghee's blog post for today. She has a lot more pictures and descriptions. Let me tell you, this girl is THE BOMB ... especially when making altered projects.

I am so amazed by her talent, and I'm not just saying this because she is my friend and teammate. For those of you who are familiar with her work and follow her blog, you know what I'm talking about! :)

If you agree that Sunghee's creation is the best, please vote for us by leaving a comment here. We are having technical difficulties so the main picture is not showing :(. But if you click on the link below the picture, you'd get to view it on Sunghee's blog.

If you aren't a registered user at the Gallery, you can register here with just an email. Thank you sooo much!!!!

GOOOOOOOOOOO INTERNATIONAL INK!!!!!

Celebrate Good Times, c'mon!

Photobucket

Happy Saturday, everyone!!! Today is a great day.. it feels like mid-70's outside as the sun is fully out!

I will start my birthday celebrations tonight. Most of my besties and I will be going to Joya, a trendy restaurant that serves Spanish dishes.

I picked the restaurant but I must admit... I'm pretty nervous about getting all dolled up. Being a new mom, I haven't really had the time to put myself together for a special occasion. But I know how important that is so I picked this place to sort of 'force' myself.

I don't have a new outfit but I do have a new bib necklace for my ladies' night. Am truly excited to have fun and chop it up with my ladies! I'll be sure to take some pictures to share with you!

Anyway, today's card is for my niece's Communion celebration. It is a blessed time for Catholics. I don't own any religious stamps so I customized one of my Alice in Wonderland stamps from Sweet Pea. The children are dressed in all white during this special mass. And I've colored her hair black. This card is also for the Copics Creations Challenge # 26 -- coloring black hair.

The PP are from October Afternoon and Scenic Route. I've also used more of my Taylored Expressions March Key Ingredients kit (butterflies, ribbon).

Have a great weekend!

Owl Love You

Photobucket

At first glance, you'd probably ask... what do owls have to do with the words in the background??

Well, peeps, this card is for my hubby and it has sort of an inside joke between us. I'll share some of it with ya.

On this post, I talked about how the G & I started hanging out.

Well, during those long bike rides, we'd sometimes even be out during nighttime. There was this one time when we ended up sitting on a picnic bench, resting and looking out into the creeks & hills of a nearby park. It felt like it was just us and nature. And the only sounds were of our conversation. We were sitting pretty close for people who were "just friends" and I thought of it as the beginning of THE turning point.

We were not even talking about anything personal or intimate. But I remember that my heart started beating fast and that the wind was tickling my skin. My senses were on high alert. I was sitting so close to HIM! (Ahhh, the start of being in love....isn't it the best feeling??).

This Owl stamp by Elaine Cox at Sweet Pea's reminds me of that night. Alone in the midst of the woods, sitting ever so close, listening intently to each other :).

In a few days, we'll be celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary.

This card has love, lust, and comfort all in one.

I decided to use Love Elsie's Jack & Abby's PP -- the words describe our everyday home life. The ribbon is from My Little Shoebox and the chipboard stickers are from Basic Grey. I also made this for Inspirational Cards Sketches # 62.

The scene is colored by my copics. I wanted to show off every texture of feathers on the owls and of bark on the trees.

Hope you all don't mind my analyzing my card again. I tend to do that -- explain why I chose certain elements. I like to do that, too, when I make comments about why I like your cards. Am really detailed-oriented, you see :).

Ok, the l'il baby has crawled up and is trying to lick my knee ... a sign that I must log off now & feed him, LOL! Talk to you later!

TGIF!

****** and don't forget, there's still time to creat a card with ephemera for my Club Anya & Friends Monday Mania challenge. I will be picking the winner tomorrow! **********

My Boys in Blue

Photobucket

Matthew Kai,

I've forgotten how gummy your smile is.

These photographs were from July 2009 -- you were almost two months.

Now, today on April 15th, you've got four teeth and one pushing through.

You are the delight in my world and your Daddy's.

Today, I am at work and you won't see me until it's dark. Right before bed. Your eyes would light up when I walk through the door. Then we'd wash up and I'd feed you.

Sing you a song and give you kisses.

And lull you to dreamland.

Sometimes I don't eat dinner until 9:30 pm.

And your dad? During this time, he's washing dishes and helping to pack up for the next day if I'm working.

And he's as tired as I am from his job too.

But he waits for me so we could eat together.

*sighs*

I wouldn't trade these things for anything in the world :).

Love,

Mama

Sah-weet & Sexay!

Photobucket

Happy Hump Day, folks!! Just four more shifts, and I'm on vacay for almost two weeks!! Saahhhh-weeeettt!

And speaking of sweet, isn't this new girlie from TGF's Spotlight stamping set soo sugar-y adorable?

Decided to make a card with her using the sweetest of products --- Dear Lizzy's Spring line of course! I just love that branch with the birdhouse and clock! Also used some Prima chipboard flowers and PP & ribbon from one of Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kit.

And AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!! I can't wait till May 27th!!!

And remember that there's still time to win a Club Anya & Friends stamp when you join in on the Monday Mania - Ephemera challenge that I'm hosting. You have until Saturday, the 17th, to post your creation here.

A lot of you may not know what ephemera is. Remember that it is anything that you would not typically use for making a card or scrapbooking. It could be a ticket stub, some type of packaging, a magnet of some sort.

Aside from Kelly's and Amy's examples on the post, I've also seen a great example on Traci's blog.

And although these are not for the CA&F challenge, I've also seen amazing ephemera used on Tanya's ATC and Yvonne's creation.

But I discovered the MOTHERLOAD of all ephemera --- this whole blog is all about re-using and recycling. And they have a special blog hop on Earth Day! Yippppeeee!!!

Till later!
