Dance Like No One is Watching.
Hello, blog world!
It's Tuesday, and I'm playing along at the Stitching Challenge at Some Odd Girl.
At first, I told myself I wasn't going to play along. In the craft world, I am weakest at sewing so I thought I'd pass. But I had already colored this image a couple of weeks ago and I had a scene in mind.
I don't know what it is about scenic cards, but everytime it all comes together for me, I feel really successful :). Like my mind is saying, "WHOA! What I see in front of me is what's exactly in my head." It's nice when your supplies and embellishments just mesh together to depict a picture, y'know?
Echo Park's Happy Days line is probably inspired by the sitcom that starred Richie Cunningham, Joanie, and of course, who could forget "The Fonz." When I saw the jukebox sticker, I knew I had to somehow pair it with Dancin' Mae. Ummm, I know... you're probably saying that she's actually listening to her MP3 player, but the dancing looks so much better with the jukebox there too! LOL!
I wanted the scene straight from a mom & pop restaurant corner -- as you can see, there's a clock and a poster. I wanted a checkered floor but this Creative Imaginations PP was close enough.
The difficult part for me was the sewing as I do not own a sewing machine (much less know how to use one). Luckily, I was able to use my sew easy tool and that made it quicker to hand-stitch.
Off on a tangent here, but as I'm writing down my supplies, I am getting really excited! You see, I've heard about and seen them in a couple of blogs now - I've started an account at InLinkz. Have y'all heard about this blog tool that lists down your supplies using images? The Link Manager looks really neat! I've seen them on Sparkle's and Patricia's blogs. Hope to include the cute icons/ links tomorrow but I doubt it as I'll be going to a baseball game tonight. I'm so excited to finally go out! But I also feel antsy when I don't get to craft :(.
Anyway, I hope you all have a stellar rest of the day!!!

This is a genius way of combining images - such a fab scene! I love how you've incorporated the stitching to 'join' up the elements - so cool!!
Thanks for being ODD and joining us over at Some Odd Girl for our 'Stitching' challenge this fortnight. Good luck.

She is soooooo cute! You created a lovely scene in this card, when somebody sees it I'm sure firstly thinks she's listening jukebox's music, not MP3! Especially if someone doesn't know the stamp, and doesn't know what she has in her hand... so everything is perfect!
Thanks for join with us this time at Some Odd Girl, hope to find you again for next challenge!
Hugs,
Elena
